Thanks.

The original show (season 1 to 5) was balanced...serious with comedic moments.
I always thought a sitcom was supposed to make you laugh...silly me
This one sure doesn't. The cast isn't the problem. They need better writing.

After Lily found out Lucinda had known that Holden was alive in NYC with amnesia, but hadn't told anyone. Around 92-93.
Thank you. Liz Hubbard even said in an article from around 1995 that finding out the truth about Holden and not telling Lily was the dumbest thing Lucinda ever did.

Not directed at me, but i used to think IR was a cool, chill guy and super handsome and laid back and now he had to go and ruin Jax for me.
Same here! It's disappointing when they turn out that way.

Found this on YouTube:
I didn't even know RC was still on the show in 2007.

I have a lot of negative feelings about MB and Sonny but I do acknowledge he does seem to sincerely trying on a journey to being a decent guy.
Which is more than I can say for a lot of other soap actors, so I will take it.Like one who has played his romantic rival for many years?

OK, I kind of remember that.

His own accounts of his behavior back then aren't the greatest, so he may have just been a huge jerk back then.
Well, at least he was honest.

Interesting story! Thanks for posting the sticker picture.

Sonny and Skye barely crossed paths in a significant way that I remember.
The only time I remember seeing them in the same scene was a huge party. It was a big group theme.

I thought 1988 was a pretty decent year, particularly October on. I think the writing didn't truly fall apart until 1991.

@amybrickwallace is right. It allegedly goes back to their AMC days. I have heard two stories. One is that they dated or had an affair and it ended badly and the other is that MB pursed her very aggressively and she wasn't having it. I think it's fairly common knowledge that RC did not want to work with MB on GH very often. I want to say MB discusses it in his book as an affair gone wrong, but does not mention RC by name.
The second version of the story is the one I heard, and I do recall hearing at the time that she wasn't eager to work with him. Thus, there aren't many Sonny/Skye scenes out there.

The irony here is that the only reason it happened at GH imho is because Nancy pushed for it publicly as vocally as she did - and Ingo who is a moron in more ways than one made the situation impossible for producers by being as pig-headedly vocal in return. I say she deserves the credit, not Valentini.
Agreed. At least her name is out there on the subject; she is most often quoted.

Well, I assume that after Martin bought Lily, he and Lucinda still went through the legal system to adopt her. There's always some shady lawyer involved.
Fair enough. When did the "divorce" happen?

Thanks for sharing. I am at the stage where these tidbits are more entertaining than 95% of the actual stories.
I miss soap blind items forums. I am not sure how many were true (anyone else used to follow Trixie?) but these were entertaining.
You're welcome. Someone who was following AMC then could tell you more.

Does The Hoff count?
Also, before joining DAYS in the mid-1980s, Marilyn McCoo had many hits as 1/5 of The 5th Dimension.

You can get it fairly cheap for an old soap book. The listing on Amazon has it at $21.50!

I thought all productions had to have vaccine mandates. Good for GH, hope they keep it up!

Nancy Pinkerton who had played Dorian on OLTL during Doris Quinlan's reign as EP,joined The Doctors as Vivica,a similar character when Doris was EP there.
Doris Belack did, too. Kathy Glass came in under the previous producer.

What? So much gossip I miss! Were there issues between them behind-the-scenes?
I believe that goes back to when they were both on AMC in the 1980s. He was interested in her and she didn't reciprocate. That's all I know.

Yeah I agree with you guys. I like Darlene but she's too much of a sad sack right now. Mark is adorable
Yeah, it's just not fun to watch. The original show had such better writing and continuity. With such a great cast, you'd think the writing would be up to par.

Here's a 1971 photo of Audrey Peters and Ron Tomme with SFT's Mary Stuart and Larry Haines. I'm guessing that they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of both shows (which debuted September 1951).
