  1. Douglas was a writer. Leanna stole his notes for his biography of Victor which she used as research for Ruthless. There were also other throwaway lines sometimes about "his new book." I love how Douglas was always trying to get money or free food from Victor. Definitely a mooch without stable income. This was one of Bill Bell's "the inequity of poverty/the dignity of work" storylines. Marian was a working class character. Victor was mooning over Nikki at the time. I liked this storyline. There is a very funny line when Victor says he wil be Vernon Nelson and Douglas quips "that will explain the monogrammed hankerchief." We get to see Victor in a variety of new situations. I think at one point he runs into an employee he'd fired at the unemployment office. Even if this storyline was just to bridge the time until Victor and Nikki finally got together, it enriched the character. Victor came from poverty and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. (Though this may have been before we knew about the orphanage?) We later see that on the farm with Hope in 1993 and even in 2012 when Victor has amnesia and ends up a dock worker and tries to get the workers to unionize. This must be the beginning of the storyline about Tim sexually harassing an ex-student. In Fenruary 1984, Traci is upset because Jack has Tim investigated (a theme that will return when Jack has Brad investigated). She goes to confront his former student Beverly, who had claimed Tim had sexually propositioned her, but she admits that she made it up. There was a brief scene of the confrontation on the vault. Don't remember if it was in clips or a full episode. I don't remember if Tim had actually slept with the student or not. Of course today this would be seen differently, as any relationship would be considered improper, even if the student hadn't been coerced. The more I learn about and see the old stories the more I'm convinced Bell was right that you could redo them today with light updating. In my mind, Lynn ran off into the sunet with Michael's secretary Marissa, haha.
  2. It was so funny when Nick asked how they got tickets that were expensive and hard to get. Nick is literally a billionaire. When Tessa said she was going to play retro music I was kind of hoping it would be that Hootie & The Blowfish song that always played during Nick and Sharon scenes at Crimson Lights.
  3. Michael's anniversary preview.
  4. I had only noticed two episodes from Amy with songs muted, which I already requested and @rsclassicfanforever already redid those, so that shouldn't be an issue. My concern is that someone on the other thread mentioned the YouTube versions have scenes cut. I haven't watched them so I don't know to what extent that is the case. Probably best to preserve both versions if we can.
  5. Eric Braeden has a Tiktok! 😂 https://www.tiktok.com/@ericbraeden/video/7048035449650154758
  6. I don't disagree with you. I've always thought that storyline was bad writing in terms of the overall decision, but well-written as a storyline. It was entertaining and suspenseful. I wanted to know what happened next (even though it was a stupid idea). I feel the same way about Cassie and John's deaths. Bad choices but well executed stories. While I was definitely against the idea of making Jill & Kay mother and daughter, it did make SOME sense in the soap way. I remember when I read around that time in one of the magazines that Jill actually had been married to Brock, but the marriage was never consummated, and thinking wow. I'm not saying that Bill Bell had that in mind, but it was interesting to know that, like an Easter egg from the past that somehow kept this mother/daughter storyline open as a possibility. The other thing was why did these two keep getting pulled towards each other for all these years despite being such bitter rivals? It made sense that it was Derek, then Phillip III, then fighting against Nina, then Rex, but by the mid-90s most of those ties were not that strong. And yet, when Keith Dennison dumps Jill, Kay for some strange reason asks her to move in, and even more strangely Jill agrees despite having plenty of money. Of course it was a setup for Jill to find the will and take over the mansion, but still, it felt like one of those little hints along the way that maybe there was something more to the relationship (either a lesbian attraction on Kay's part or long lost child, lol). The retcon would have been decent if not for it being mixed up in all of that Cane pretending to be Phillip and Phillip returning from the dead nonsense (all so that Nina could seen over Zoom "in Australia while visiting Phillip" except he is always in the other room!). I thought the Marge redux was stupid at the time but now I think of it as one of the last good Y&R stories. Kathering being poor and falling in love with Murphy, remembering who she was and fighting to take back her place in GC. The DNA test showing she's not Jill's mother and therefore apparently not Katherine, and Jill thinking she's a scammer until they finally realize Kay's DNA matches Brock's and it's Jill who is not related, and Jill lashing out in jealousy, saying that Kay always treated Nikki as her daughter. And at that very moment Mac coming home as Billy was marrying Chloe and realizing they weren't related (and with decent actors in all these roles at the time). That was good soap stuff in hindsight. Lauren and Jill being sisters is still the case but seems to have been completely forgotten about to the point that Lauren wasn't even invited to Chance's wedding despite being Jill's only family in town.
  7. Yes. I'm actually enjoying it not in an ironic way. I'm sitting there like I hope Taylor says she can come! Yes! Looking forward to the Christmas ep.
  8. I think it would be cool to show two episodes that follow the same storyline but show the passage of time. For example, Nina's baby being stolen on Y&R in 1987 and then her reuniting with the adult Ronan in 2010. That's the real power of soaps, the fact that you can follow the character through the years and get payoffs DECADES later. That's not replicated by any other genre. Another good one might be Laura's rape on GH and then Lucky finding out about it as a teen.

  10. LOL. At least it's better than when a recent official Y&R video talked about "the return of Chase" or something. I don't like the new Taylor at all (which is not an endorsement of Tylo, trust me). Krista Allen is coming off as Steffy's girlfriend, not mother. They look the same age. That can be worked around with good acting (never had an issue with John McCook as a patriach), but she's not acting motherly. There's no gravitas. When she talks about how Steffy had to deal with Sheila, she acts like Sheila is some annoying woman from high school, not the woman who caused the great trauma of shooting her and causing her to be away from her children during their formative years. Taylor was a more serious person, although her character was ruined by the end. I love the father/daughter chemistry between Deacon and Hope. The fighting scenes were fun. We never get to see characters do somewhat normal things like that. I actually thought they were going to have Ridge walk in and think Brooke or Hope was being attacked by Deacon. Hoping eventually Deacon gets to bust a move on Ridge, haha. I like Sheila being a creepy sexual predator too. She's done it before with James. It's in character and I love Deacon's wtf reactions.
  11. She uploaded some of the earthquake at Big Bear. The last dates she did are in the vault under Full episodes March 1994 (she may have labelled them differently but these dates are based on the recaps). I skimmed them and it looks like it's right before they slept together.
  12. Right now I'm trying to download what they posted up to episode 3831, but I have to leave. I'll check tonight to see if it worked, but someone else needs to grab anything after 3831 (I am referring to the order they are uploading the episodes, not the order of the actual episodes).
  13. The Official B&B Channel seems to be uploading Season 15 now... I see Jennifer Finnigan in the thumbnails... I don't think they did this era before?
  14. Cool, I knew about KKL and Ronn Moss doing that (and Dan McVicar on the ice skating version), but not him. Any other soap stars?
  15. @AlexGrimaldi cool, thank you! That 1988 opening must be from 1983 US eps... super rare clips! I wonder if it means somebody has got the full episode online somewhere. LOL Don Diamont gave it a good try in Italian. I remember him saying people always thought he was Italian, but he's actually Jewish. Funny how they put the actors' ages in the article. It makes the age gaps between the couples stand out.
  16. I am not up to that yet but I just checked it in two different players and yeah, there's no music! So weird! I noticed that's an RTL Lounge video, hopefully it can be found on videoland and be reuploaded. 🙏
  17. Didn't he call Moses "Neil's grandson"?
  18. Oh, I hadn't realized that. Has anyone with videoland watched the episode to make sure it's exactly the same as 10play's version, since 10play is known to edit out violence? It's great having it without subtitles though, and in such nice quality!
  19. You can look for the recap here: https://www.soapcentral.com/bold-and-beautiful/recaps/1999/ Should be the week of June 7th.
  20. Hi guys, Some of you might remember last year a very kind anonymous person sent me a lot of rare Y&R for the Vault. This year the person went through the Vault and sent me a lot of the missing B&B episodes on DVD! I'm slowly getting them into the Vault. Some of these have the World of Soap Themes (WOST) logo on them which is a treat for me as I wasn't around for the original site and luckily this person saved some of those episodes. This is what I've added so far. More to come. 1993-05-14 1993-03-30 - Lauren & Sheila Dinner Party 1993-03-31 1995-03-20 #1998 - The episode after the Jacuzzi fight! 1995-03-22 #1999 1996-04-10 1998-06-19 2000-07-10 Macy's accident aftermath 2004-04-12 #4275 2004-05-23 2004-06-03 partial 2004-06-25 partial 2004-08-26 2004-09-23 2004-10-05
  21. I hate to be a bother, but you skipped over #1384. Thank you
  22. Thanks. I found this, is this the one or do you have it in English? Victor is saying "Verdammt" which means "damn" but the automatic captions seem to translate to f*ck. I noticed this with the 1986 videos that had been posted in German. The captions would often translate it as the f-word.
  23. What date are you guys talking about? I remember Y&R being one of the most liberal soaps when it came to hell, damn, and bitch but never the F bomb.
