ARTICLE: CBS Program Advisory: ‘Beyond the Gates’ Daytime Special, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Encores
That one should be interesting. Particularly, if they delve into Anita's casting - Tamara said MVJ wrote her a personalized note that she only saw her in the role, but Debbi Morgan let it slip a few months back that she was offered a role on the soap (we all assumed it was for Anita).

He started under Rauch in 1999, I believe - yes, definitely not the best time for P&G casting and certainly not on the level of the iconic Betty Rea. At the same time, it better work out or she won’t hear the last of it. JFP faced these accusations about hiring her friends in ill-fitted roles her entire career, and people still can’t get over Bill Bell hiring his daughter and force-feeding her on Y&R.

I’d love it if they buck the trend and release very little in the way of spoilers. It seemed like the casting was taken very seriously from what Sheila Ducksworth has said. Kim Coleman was very involved in the casting of the principal cast per Ducksworth. Rob Decina, who oversees NY Casting for CBS, also seemed very involved from what some of the actors have said. For those who remember, he was also GL’s final Casting Director - so another tie to the old P&G soap legacy.

P&G has long been one of the most progressive conglomerates in America. They don’t get the recognition because of their midwestern roots, and within daytime because their soaps were always stigmatized as your “grandma’s soaps” but if you look into their corporate history, you’ll find they’ve supported and upheld many progressive policies for their employees and wider society. Obviously, like any company, they have their skeletons and cons, but it is what it is.

With all the promotion (uncommon for daytime soaps in this age), I wonder how the first week ratings will pan out, and if there is an influx of some new viewers, can they maintain it? It would be interesting to dig into the demographics data once the show debuts. CBS Daytime is historically strong with black female viewers - are they supporting this show the same way and over-indexing for viewership? This was a program specifically created with that demographic in mind and one I think CBS will be paying close attention to.- Film Awards Thread
Baftas 2025: The winners list in full Mikey Madison won Best Actress for 'Anora,' so if she wins again at SAG next week, she could likely steal momentum from Demi Moore's Oscar campaign 'Conclave' won Best Film, but it's technically considered a British production, so 'Anora' will likely proceed with the Best Picture win at the Academy Awards- GH: teen character finally cast
