Birgitta’s father perished in a Russian prisoner of war camp in 1947. In December of 1951, her mother married Heinz Josef Tolksdorf, and the family immigrated to the United States in January of 1952. In 1953 they settled in Washington, Missouri. Birgitta graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School in 1963. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Music degree from Fontbonne College in 1967, she embarked on a modeling and acting career. She appeared in national print ads for Lillet, Sanka, and L’Oreal. She performed at the Drury Lane Theater and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, off-Broadway at the Triangle Theatre Company, and played the title role in the national tour of the comic play “The Secretary Bird.” From 1975-1980, she lived in New York and played a long-running character on a CBS television daily soap opera. In 1981, she moved to Paris. In 1986, she was an American representative for the “Committee for the Restoration of the Statue of Liberty.” After moving back to the United States, Birgitta worked for many years at Saks Fifth Avenue. Most recently she treasured the people she worked with at Ken Miesner’s Flower Shoppe. Birgitta is survived by her siblings Michael Tolksdorf, Matthias (Teresa) Tolksdorf, Barbara (Roger) Winfrey, and Christa (Phillip) Dvorak. Predeceasing her were one brother, Heinz G. Tolksdorf, and her mother and adoptive father. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Annunziata, 9305 Clayton Road, Ladue, MO 63124. Times Myron Healey, 82; One of the Best Badmen in Film and TV Westerns By Dennis McLellan March 27, 2006 12 AM PT Times Staff Writer Myron Healey, a movie character actor whose deep rich voice and sly smile helped make him one of the top-10 badmen of westerns in films and television, has died. He was 82. Healey, a longtime resident of Simi Valley, died of respiratory failure at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank on Dec. 21, his family said. His death was not made public until an obituary appeared in the current issue of Western Clippings, a western film publication. Healey played his first western heavy in 1948 -- opposite western star Johnny Mack Brown -- in “Hidden Danger,” which launched Healey as a regular in low-budget Monogram westerns starring Brown, Whip Wilson and Jimmy Wakely. Legend of Wyatt Earp.”“Whenever you see any [Top 10] ranking, it always includes Charlie King, Roy Barcroft, Harry Woods and Myron Healey,” said Magers, coauthor of “Best of the Badmen.” Healey quickly became “one of the best, most recognizable and most frequently seen heavies in the waning days of the B-western and the burgeoning days of the TV western,” according to Boyd Magers, editor and publisher of Western Clippings. On television, he appeared regularly on dozens of western series, including “The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok,” “Range Rider,” “Bonanza,” “Maverick” and “Rawhide.” In the late ‘50s, Healey replaced Douglas Fowley in the role of Doc Holliday for a year on “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.” Although he also showed up in “Perry Mason,” “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour” and other series set in contemporary times, Healey was recognized primarily as a western heavy. “Whenever you see any [Top 10] ranking, it always includes Charlie King, Roy Barcroft, Harry Woods and Myron Healey,” said Magers, coauthor of “Best of the Badmen.” Healey was no run-of-the mill, bullying western villain. “To me, he just brought a different presence,” Magers said. “He wasn’t the grungy, dirty, mean type of heavy. Certainly, he could do that, but he just had a little slicker image, a little smoother finesse to his evilness. He had that sly smile that, if you knew him when he smiled like that, it was a warm, loving smile. But when he was playing a badman, it was just an evil smile.” Healey was born June 8, 1923, in Petaluma, Calif. As a teenager, he sang on local radio, gave violin and piano recitals and appeared in stage productions in high school in Santa Rosa. After arriving in Hollywood in the early ‘40s, he studied acting and appeared in musicals for the Armed Forces Victory Committee, the forerunner of the USO. Healey, who landed a contract with MGM in 1942, enlisted in the Army Air Forces in 1943 and saw combat in France and Germany while serving as a navigator and bombardier on a B-26 Marauder. After the war, he continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve until 1962. While appearing in B-westerns, Healey wrote several screenplays, including the 1951 western “Colorado Ambush,” in which he appeared. As for playing badmen on screen, Healey told Magers that in terms of character and personality, he had “much more leeway in playing a heavy.” And, he said, “it’s just plain interesting, the fact that you’re not a nice guy. I enjoyed that much more than playing a hero.” In 2000, he received a Golden Boot Award from the Motion Picture & Television Fund for his work in westerns. Healey, who was divorced four times, is survived by his daughters, Christine Ann Grissam and Mikel Healey; a grandson and a great-grandson. Harry has to ride by with Pat Buttram pursuing him--Pat bulldogs him and he succumbs to Pat--on dry ground. Now, I had a bad cold all week--real sick, coughing, no medication. Unbeknownst to me, Harry talked to director George Archainbaud and said, "What's the difference who goes in the water? Let us switch places". So we did. If I'd gone in the water I would have come down with pneumonia and possibly died. To this day, I say Harry probably saved my life. I've seen that everywhere as well, but they also said William Lipton would be returning for visits and he came back a lot later for a funeral. I'm simply saying that he's been around for a while and deserved to be upped to a contract rather than being shipped off to an art school in another country. Especially now that they (ugh) brought Jason back. At the very least there is an opportunity to play the beats, every couple of weeks of the two connecting -- positively or adversely. CC comes off too old to be Aiden, but I'm sure he'll be replaced again. HW has been pulling his weight better and longer than most child actors go. He deserved a contract and to be part of the next generation high school to college characters (unless it was his choice not to). Rocco loks too old as well, but Finn Francis Carr's scenes with Dante and "Lulu" talking about himself came off really well, especially when he talked about a girl maybe "checking him out". Violet, on the other hand, that mess needs to move away with her dad. I also remember the scenes where Elizabeth invited Lucas over to dinner with Brad for Aiden's benefit. They could have followed through over the years but important <cough> characters like Frankles and Hammy Finn were more important<coughs>. Lucas was shortshrift, as always.

Aiden was fine in the hands of Enzo DeAngelis, who s matter-of-fact"ly" spoke to his Mom. Lucas has always been a Spencer, and in no universe would Bobbie say to him, "Oh Lucas, the heart wants what it wants, just treat Lucky's son right." Rebuilding the relationships among the Spencer family seems to be the way this team is trying to go. Being a supportive uncle that Aiden can ask questions because Lucas has been through the same thing (mentorship, as @Vee was saying) just helps pull the family unit together. Queer as Folk: Family Edition just doesn't work in this narrative.

So sad to hear this. Drake and "John" will be sorely missed. Unfortunately, some rumor monger was sharing the news all over twitter that he was in hospice before the family shared it. Some people just don't understand grace or common courtesy. I hope his family had time to spend with him. Cancer is a monster.
