I'll get it a shot! so weird about it not working on YT though. Out of curiosity did anyone try to edit together the 12/5/86 episode? They showed that as the first episode of the "most shocking moments" week of the final classic week last month, but the original is on here, but I think is missing the last segment or two. I have that date on YT but it's blocked right now. 😕

I am, and have seen those dates, but I never got around to watching or downloading those September dates yet. I tried to upload the full version of the 4/21/86 episode to YT, but it won't let me for whatever reason...it just says "content has been rejected" I could try to add that date to the vault myself to see if there's better luck?

I just saw that! that's amazing! Brenda looked so lovely there! I'm so happy and excited 1986 is full throttle on the vault, even though I'm still at February 1984 with the St Croix Climax! LOL at least we will be able to get into the second half of 1986 hopefully and break the long awaited halt that the German episodes are on.

I actually heard from the classic Y&R Facebook group (don’t take my word On how accurate this is) that we first saw Katherine enter the beauty salon where Jill was working and that was supposedly November 26, 1973. It seemed to be a one day stint for JC at that point because apparently we didn’t see her again till that January 28, 1974 episode! I feel like that’s a bit of a stretch because why introduce Katherine in November and basically shelf her till the following January?? but either way if all that’s correct maybe Jan 28 is considered her first contracted appearance?

I know this is kind of a late response, but I didn't mean Rex, it says Quinn Redeker played a character named Joseph Thomas from 1979-1980 (after Nick Reed) I was saying I thought I read somewhere that Jill stuck this Nick Reed look-alike on Nikki and Casey to scare them (more so Nikki I would imagine) because Greg had to suffer as a result of all the trouble Nikki got herself into with Rose.

Look into the past - 1975
During his Emmy legends archive interview Bill Bell said in regards to Deidre leaving Y&R that he had contacted Pat Falken Smith who took over Days after Bell Stepped down that he was about to let “one of his girls” go at Y&R and recommended DH for PFS to cast on Days...the time line for DH leaving as Barbara in 1976 kind of makes sense now as Bill was still HW at Days till May 75, and it would seem Deidre just came off of Y&R to do Days the following year.

For the longest time I always thought it was said that Jill hired that Nick Reed look-a-like (One of Quinn Redeker's second or third roles after Nick Reed, but before Rex) to scare Nikki and Casey as payback for Nikki causing harm to Greg and getting Liz shot during the Rose DeVille stuff....Is that true or just an odd rumor they had going on? I don't remember if it says anything about that in the 1980-81 synopses?? When you think about it, it's kind of bizarre that during the time that Nikki was married to Greg and was an in-law to the Foster family, Katherine wouldn't have at least known of Nikki considering she was still close to Liz for most of that time frame that Nikki was married to Greg from 79-81....Even though everyone had their separate stories, I sometimes find it hard to believe that nothing was mentioned in passing about Snapper and Greg to Katherine from Liz, and about their love lives. There were so many beats that Bill Bell probably didn't play when Katherine and Nikki became friends...like the fact that she was her friend Liz's former daughter -in-Law, and her arch nemesis, former Sister-In-Law. I forgot that Brock actually knew Nikki first because he was friends with Casey! was that mentioned when Katherine started to know Nikki?? Not to criticize Bill Bell but I feel like most writers would bank on all those character connections, but it seems he choose to ignore a lot of them until it was convenient.

Thanks! I wonder if we will see that seem in the 83 clips! Man Y&R was really ripping off GH with those mob scenes! The ones I just watched with Paul, Andy and Jazz trapped in the office with the electrified doors and the poison gas set off by Tony's henchman were VERY un-Bill Bell IMO.

Yes! i know people have said 1984 was when the transition was complete, but it seems to be that way starting Spring 1983! Also It's probably terrible to say this, but seeing all the women's hats' at the funeral was hilarious to me too! Nikki, Katherine and Eve! LOL sooo 80's! and like @BoldRestless mentioned I'm curious to know where Victor serving in the war alongside Douglas came from?? was that just a retcon that Bill Bell decided to add in? I guess maybe 80-81 Victor/Douglas scenes would explain more of that? The Stuart/Liz scenes were very sentimental for all the reasons you said! It makes me sad knowing we've probably seen the last of not only Stuart but the iconic and original Brooks house as well! 😕 I would have allowed Stuart and Liz to reconcile, but I guess maybe without his onscreen family RC thought it was pointless to stay...I guess he could have made a cameo along with his daughters at the wedding in 1984 though. I wish we got a scene of Nikki, Rick, Liz and Stuart at the cemetery at the same time! btw something I've been wondering but is Earl Bancroft gone? I don't think he's been seen since Victoria's baptism.

I have to say I am now finally on the Victor's funeral clips and Dina's reveal, and It's crazy how much more campier and comedic the show was in the 80's then it became later on...I'm not gonna lie it's kind of sad how Bill Bell made the show a little too serious going into the mid 90's, not that it was bad, but the early 80's are definitely a stark contrast considering how much more serious the 70's seemed....Some of the humor is stuff you would expect to see later on JER's Days and even Passions. During Victor's funeral the Minister was talking about how he was called over to marry Victor and Eve, but that g-d had other plans and wanted Victor to "come to him" without the marriage taking place...cut to Katherine thinking "Thank g-d for that! " and now Katherine is giving her Eulogy, saying how Victor made a great sacrifice, and Victor is hiding in the back thinking "For g-d's sake Katherine please don't say anything about Nikki and Victoria..not here..not now"! LOL it's so funny!
