BTG: November 2025 Discussion Thread
11-20 Well I finally went back and rewatched the RC back-to-backs. I still agree with my opinion on breakdowns/scriptwriters to date. I know that RC is divisive. I was/am a OLTL fan, watched his stuff on GH up to 2014 when it was just too much, and the start of his DAYS run right up to the John/Marlena wedding with Stacy Haudik joining as Kristen. So I definitely have a firm idea of his style...which was on display in his first official episode on this show. But I will give credit where it is due...I actually don't mind his stuff (for the most part) on this show. Yeah, there are still some annoying tics of his (mentions of elevator baby, the cat in the tree, Carl Vati, etc), but I do find that his breakdowns usually have a soapiness or balanced campiness at best, over the top silliness at worst. When RC is NOT in charge, it's good to see that he can still create a good episode, even if he is still drawn to the characters most likely to be over-the-top and/or shady. What is also still holding up is my thoughts on the scriptwriters currently working under him. Jazmen Darnell Brown did one. Danielle Paige did the other. I feel Jazmen works really, really well with RC. And that he gets better on RC's breakdowns the more he does them. Not bad since he's my favorite scriptwriter anyway. I felt like it was still a RC breakdown cuz there were slight hints of that campiness RC likes to do, but Jazmen managed to either tone it down and keep the focus on what was going on or filtered it through so it could be actually funny to me. I found more RC-isms in Danielle Paige's script. Not to say that it wasn't a good episode, it really was. But she doesn't 'hide' it as well as Jazmen has been able to do. I would say the same for when Judy Tate works on RC breakdowns, too. To be honest, I feel Danielle works better with Jamey Giddens IMO. I know a few months ago we did have a discussion over the writing overall vs day-to-day. At the time, I believe I said it is just a matter of figuring out which scriptwriters worked with which breakdown writers. And how the writing team was still trying to jell. At the time, I mentioned that I felt Sara Bibel/Cheryl Davis found a groove. Same for Teresa Zimmerman and either Judy Tate or Lynn Martin...who I believe is the team that did the majority of the anniversary party episodes. Otherwise it was hit or miss. I should probably mention that I do feel that my love for the Bibel/Davis team seems to have lessen now when they originally seem to have the strongest episodes. Not sure why since their episodes are still serviceable to me. I guess it just does not have that 'pop' for me where I felt the characters, story structure, plot, etc. I do believe that day to day has grown stronger now that everyone appears to be getting used to each other and settling in. But with stories shifting with a new Co-HW in house...some rushed, others becoming soapier...it will be interesting to see how overall goes.

I love seeing more of Shanice, but I agree with Vee and would have rather seen Ted with June. Surely we can get Shanice better.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I remember!!! ;) I know the First Look of the first 7 minutes is out, too, but I didn't want to dive in. At least not yet. A good intro and I giggled at her grunt in the flashback to her show.

As someone who will not be celebrating Thanksgiving like most, I thought it was a beautiful episode.

B&B: November 2025 Discussion Thread
Darn it! I didn't get to the episodes in time so they are gone. :( Though thanks to @dragonflies for the clip over in the software update thread so I can watch that part of it at least. I miss Luna's death (or is it 'death?') So I have questions. 1) How did Luna lose the baby? 2) So Will did call Luna out right? And he said what she did was SA? Cuz I'm now watching 11/21 and they are running with violation.

Yeah outside of Curtis's start and when Korte gets to write Curtis vs Drew, Curtis is not doing much. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Hehe. THIS. I don't know. The actor is good, but this kinda of villain/schemer/scoundrel goes all the way back to when RC was writing the show and always has a 'look at me!' vibe to him which gets cartoony annoying reeeal quick...as Sidwell was in his start with Lucky's return and was still doing it until he faded into the back. Now that he's the focus again, hopefully, that won't come back.

I'll take Liz any way I can get her, but it would still feel odd even with the chemistry.

11-24 Yeeeah I like Friday's episode more than this one. I did think the speeches were cute. And I liked seeing Amy and Tracy together finally. And we know how I feel about getting BF undressed. That's all I got. Oh...where were the flashbacks?

GH: November 2025 Discussion Thread
Very much this. So far, how Carly had been playing it had me fascinated...in spite of the Val angle...because I was just saying how much it's been a minute since Carly has schemed or plotted revenge. And LW has been playing it to the hilt that I want to see what she does. But then it felt like the writers pushed it to the background briefly which I found odd. You two sound like what I mentioned last week that after a bit of slow down with the Britt/Nathan returns trying (and failing) to overshadow the Monica/Ronnie story, the pacing went back to what I called shifting. Where the writers would shift to other stories, but somehow was able to still keep a good amount of momentum going. Kinda like how it was before the returns happened, it was really nicely paced AND entertaining to watch at the same time. A building toward something vibe if that makes sense. I loved how it seems like a big giant umbrella across a lot...and I do mean A LOT...of the canvas because so much of what has been going on (I am a week and a half behind mind you) connects to several other stories at the same time which I'm surprised these writers are pulling off. And...I actually like it.

Well, you will at least like your girl lusting after that Hawthorne boy. I do wonder if at some point there will be an Eva vs Hayley scene.

ALL: Recasts who were quickly accepted by the audience
Understandable. It's only now with this Deacon storyline that Rebecca is coming across as a Taylor. And even THAT storyline started (and stopped) when Krista was in the role. But as I've mentioned, it was just one of those times where B&B did everything right with how you introduce a recast so I can't believe Brad had to be spiteful allegedly.

She did.

ALL: Recasts who were quickly accepted by the audience
Same. Let me add Alexia Havins's Lulu on GH, Mark Valley's Jack on DAYS I believe was quickly accepted, Nathan Fillon's Joey on OLTL if I'm not mistaken as well.
