Oh, God yes. I know I am in the minority, but I love the Y&R sax red opening. But I'm bias since it was me learning about and liking and trying to follow Y&R as a regular viewer when I was just a teenager aka always at school. lol. I really love how they built up to Andre and Dani throughout Thursday's episode. And just how it felt like a natural seduction. And just their vibe...right down to the slow dancing...just made me think of black people romance in the late 90s when it was not unusual to see the lady being serenaded by the guy...or the r&b band/singer that was popular during the time. For me, it was unexpected and therefore magical. Even though I know Andre is a player, but I was not expecting all of THAT. He was smooth. I wasn't hating on Dani at all. NOW I was hating on her kicking him out of bed the next morning. He clearly, for all his player vibe, liked her just a lliittttttle bit. And it was nice to see a satisfied smile on her face when she woke up to him watching her. Or perhaps my mind is just a little on old school romance. Andre and Dani were giving. Yeah, Cheap called Leslie that and I hollered at work during a brief break. lol. Like someone just said online today, BTG has a lot going on and multiple storylines and yet it does not feel like another show with its multiple storylines and quick cuts. Proving that it can be done with good character development, good pacing, and STILL be soapy. And this is just focusing on character and being the FIRST week. Just wait until they find their rhythm AND add on the ability to plot going hand-in-hand with character...if that makes sense. Agree. It's been fun to read. I feel the same as well which makes it deliciously refreshing. You can see the thread. You can sense the plotting. Just the fact that so many storylines from sprung from the main plot of the Duprees vs Bill/Hayley. It's like an umbrella tale and yet not one at all.

So it's the last day of February...meaning Sweeps are DONE. So how are we grading them? A B C D F Or to quote Dani Dupree hehe the hottest corner of Hades?? I haven't finished this week yet, but expect to this weekend on all my soaps, but I'm curious how everyone else felt. It's at least a given that BEYOND THE GATES is an A for me though.

Honestly I had hoped she would take the LuAnn approach to it. So I'm extremely disappointed she did not. And it was too little, too late. From what tweets I saw, that judge had her number. I do hope going forward she will take accountability which is what was wanted and needed.

So we wearing black today to the wedding? 😜 I thought yesterday's episode was the low key of the bunch. But given what's going down today (and you know I'm looking forward to that Friday cliffhanger ), this was a nice calm before the storm. I liked the Naomi/Bill scenes. Naomi, for me, has not have much agency since the first episode. And also we have yet to see her with her father so those were good. I like Bill and feel Timon continue to show layers. But the one layer I don't feel I've seen yet has been pure menace that I expect from the soap trope he represents. That said...Naomi...you...betta...READ. Why yes, @kalbir, I do love a hair toss/diva head turn have at you. Joan Collins on Season 2 of THE ROYALS. Jill Foster Abbott with her whore hair in the Y&R opening from the 2000s. Dr. O when she appeared in 2013 for the 50th on GH. And now here's Chelesa during her model shot. I've been looking forward to that hair toss since the trailer dropped. And I was NOT disappointed. Mmmm...worth the wait. And now that I know who Chelesa is, I love it even more. But I loved everything about those scenes. You got to see more of Dani's dynamic with her and Kat. Like I said the other day, Dani continues to be played as no saint even as you feel sorry for her. And she still don't even know that Chelesa and Kat are about to cut her out. And then...Andre... MMmm...Andre. I ain't mad at you, Dani!!!! And they had chemistry, too. So another avenue for Dani to go down. Well, if we didn't already know Andre is a player. Still...I loved their scenes and how he tamed the shrew...for now. And that dance to smooth music. YES. Love in the afternoon is soooooo back!! And speaking of music, none of it felt artificial and that I love so much. It made me want to go out and figure out who sung what...and that's a BIG sign to how great a show is to me because a lot of the shows/movies I like WILL have me wanting to hunt down the music I heard on them. Meanwhile, I don't know if the bar set is part of the other bar set. If not, I love both of them. I liked Ashley/Derek and Jacob/Naomi hanging out at the bar. Like real friend couples. Kinda dull, but it gave us a little more info on all the characters as Ashley continued to worry about her job. LMAO at @Cheap21!!! SilkyPressed Sheila it is!!! I had time running around work and saw that and hollered. I guess typing all this out, this episode was all about the B plots and C plots. I don't mind that. Because there are sooooo many dynamics to explore on this show...some we haven't even seen yet (I see you in the background of Hayley's surprise party, Alex!)...and I just want to devour it all.

Hehe. Same. I agree. I have really enjoying watching this show. And rewatching. It's giving 'great rewatch value to catch something missed.' Something I haven't seen for the most part with other soaps as of late. I could totally see me rewatching over the weekend. But I will probably worry about the budget around when it gets renewed.

See? And as Daytime Fan has mentioned that was exactly what Karen was afraid of. smh. Getting ready for work so I hope it is still online by the time I get off. I want to hear the judge read her.
