  1. See, I did think about that. Lucas has a case here. I was under the impression that Kate overcompensated with Austin and Billie because she didn't raise them. Plus, I also factored in how pro-Austin/Carrie and how anti-Sami/Lucas she was. Austin just seems like the least screwed up one and caused minimal trouble. Kate doesn't feel like a 'girl mom' so I'd rank it- 1. Austin 2. Lucas 3. Billie 4. Phillip 5. Rex 6. Cassie Phillip doesn't top any list for me in the end. He's obviously Victor's least favorite child too.
  2. The Kate/EJ scenes were great! Weren't EJ/Kate once an item? Back in the early James Scott years? Kate's really been around so it's hard to recall. I always thought Austin was her favorite child, not Phillip lol. I put Phillip above Rex and Cassie, but below Austin, Lucas and Billie. Good scenes with Rafe and Johnny as well. Galen Gering works really well with younger actors in general. Much better than with love interests. Is that the first time we've seen an exterior shot of Rafe's house? It's pretty nice. Javi was completely obnoxious today. Leo didn't even bother me for once. How rude is it to just have Leo move in? Javi doesn't even pay rent and Gabi is not just his roomate but his boss. She has extremely valid reasons to not want Leo around. Javi just completely ignored her. I am sure Jada didn't think she was going to be living with four other adults when she agreed to move in with Rafe. She's better off at Stephanie's.
  3. Well I think most of her creative decisions have been awful lol. The show usually looked pretty good under JFP. I think FV has very similar flaws to her as well so it's not a huge upgrade. I think Frons and to a lesser extent Guza were more to blame than JFP in the end. There are just multiple women who have had less than nice things to say about working with her so she was still obviously a problem. I agree. I am not sure I would kill Luke off (again, for real, lol). I really love Kevin and JL. I just can't imagine that truly being Laura's endgame. I am not creative enough to know how to craft a Luke/Laura reunion tale though.
  4. I initially thought the idea of Tracy/Luke was inspired. I enjoyed something different for both of them and something a bit comedic. I am not sure if it ever should have been long term. The well was pretty dry as far as story goes once they fell in love for real and it was just a serious of Luke doing something bad, Tracy getting mad, and then taking him back over and over. On the other hand, I also thought their wedding in 2010 or 2011? was lovely (whatever one that Sonny rudely proposes to Brenda in the middle of). It was a nice conclusion to their story and it was then immediately ruined by Luke running down his grandson and becoming an "alcoholic". I think Tracy works better on her own and even Laura has a solid place on the canvas without Luke. Idk, I still think the show will end with Luke/Laura if Tony is available.
  5. 😂 Oh, I made my peace with that years ago. I am not even sure I like Sonny anymore. He is just like the toxic friend you defend even though you know they are awful. I don't think BTG is much better than GH. The acting certainly isn't for the most part. There is a freshness and energy that BTG has that GH and other current soaps lack. I feel like everyone working on BTG is passionate and excited about the show. GH seems to just move along on factory settings just getting a show out every day. I understand why everyone is gushing over BTG, but if I am just comparing episode to episode I think GH is more consistent daily. Sometimes its consistently boring though. Like you said, let's see how everyone feels in 6 months or a year. This isn't really here nor there, but I remember dipping out of Passions after a week so BTG seems to be doing better than that lol.
  6. It really felt like forever and there wasn't a very clear answer on when Laura was coming back either. And 1997 was kind of a mess overall so Laura's absence didn't help. I agree with this assessment but was Luke any different? And she was always going to be second fiddle to Luke/Laura even if the show paints it a bit more even.
  7. I have already fell into a shame spiral for taking that bait....
  8. But you are still saying you apologize for offending anyone and you don't care. Go wild with your opinions, but you loosely putting a disclaimer or a deemed apology on your posts doesn't make it right. It's saying a bunch of offensive stuff and then saying I hope I don't offend anyone when you will. Read the room-you've gotten away with a lot of awful things here and I am sure you know the one thing that still really upsets me.
  9. Donna you can google word salad like I assume you did the word parlance. An apology is admitting you are sorry or wrong. You are literally doubling down on a Carly/Jason agenda when I actually like both characters. If you want to waste your own time you can go and read all my posts for the last decade and I was pretty neutral on all the Jason/Liz/Sam wars. And I am one of the few people that don't have you on block here.
  10. I agree it might be a pairing you keep in your back pocket in case everything else fails, but that's it. To me it's over but still so unresolved. Then again Lucky/Liz are the more destined pair and unresolved as well. I have always thought BH and SBu had great chemistry at the start. Then it got so messy and complicated that it just doesn't feel like a life choice Liz would make now as a grown woman with kids.
  11. 😂 100% agree I was out at the use of the word parlance.
  12. Yeah, no. Jizzer is not a current parlance or a word that is used often even on this board dedicated to soaps. And I am pretty sure no one in the audience was afraid Carly was going to die. There were like 5 people there to help Carly get through her tragic, tragic ordeal. So Jason should care more about his children that were once presumed dead and/or when Jason himself was presumed dead to make up for lost time. To be clear I am not offended or even annoyed. The word salad apologies don't add up for me. Sorry!
  13. I don't even care about Jason and Liz at all, but I think they have a stronger fanbase than the 5 people that think Jason/Carly are endgame.
  14. Why did someone stating an opinion about Liz's child with Lucky become something about Jason/Liz? No one brought that up and honestly if we are using goofy squish names for couples use Liason at least. Jizzer is disgusting and stupid and hasn't been relevant since 2005. I mean, Jason should probably be bonding with his own son instead of coddling Carly who I am 100% sure will live for many more days and years.
  15. I really can't find much on Guza from 2003 in the soap press. Not about personal issues, but just quotes in general. That could possibly line up if he did take a leave then. I thought I remembered him talking about the Deadman's hand saga with Sam, but I can't even find that. It's also 22 years ago though and if I was Guza I would have scrubbed that entire story from the internet as well.
  16. I remember them being trapped on a roof for what seemed like days arguing over Gia vs. Liz as the Face of Deception. Which both Carly/Laura were above. I don't remember Mac/Laura teases but I think Mac got shopped around to everyone. I think we all recall the years we were supposed to pretend Mac and Alexis could be a thing.
  17. You have so much good insight about Luke/Laura. I tend to feel like she was more sidelined than she was during the early Guza years because my strongest memories are more Luke based due to the fact he was prominent in the Sonny/Brenda story. Absolutely. I remember SOD reporting and Sarah was like lol everyone loves everyone here. Which was the right move at the time. 2003 was awful-fell apart by March. I always chalked it up to Guza having an entire Brenda/Jason/Sonny saga planned out. I had no idea he left for personal reasons.
  18. It's been so long but I think Vanessa just calls out ABC daytime in general for not meeting her needs with a young child so that could be the case. I think JFP was really the one making most of the public statements about it and it came off canned and cold so she might just get the de facto blame. I don't specifically remember Vanessa ever saying Jill's name and just using broader terms for her departure. History leads me to believe Jill didn't fight for her at the very least lol. Amber is the only one I can recall making it obvious JFP was the issue. I think Sarah even said there was no problem with her and Jill when she left although we learned later that wasn't the case.
  19. I think it also really helped that Vanessa/Brenda was Guza's favorite female to write for. It's not that I think Guza hated Laura exactly. He just never really understood her and probably didn't find Laura appealing to write for as a mature woman. I have no idea why it went so wrong in 2010 for Guza and Brenda because that really should have been an easy slam dunk for him.
  20. Guza and the Brenda return was great writing although it was getting rough towards the end because the show burned through so much material in such a short time. It was also just the exact right time for her to return-not too long for people to forget about Brenda but long enough for people to want it. Plus, she was also distracting the audience to make Genie/Laura's exit seem not as bad as it actually was. SJB was worth a one year deal and I believe when they hired TB the intention was to kill Carly off entirely, so why not work with Sarah? I will never get over how much they worked Vanessa in those six months. I can't even tell you a non Brenda story in those months because the entire show revolved around her (which I was totally fine with). I also would completely accept Brenda being on 2 or 3 times a week and find it insane JFP couldn't capitulate to reasonable demands by an actress that was carrying the show. The show fell apart within weeks of Brenda's exit. Kelly Monaco wasn't the draw anyone thought lol. It just reeks of jealousy or bitterness on JFP's part in all these situations with the female cast. Lol. I agree. It was funny.
  21. Agreed. I was with you yesterday, but today I questioned the Drew theory. This news would explain Shane's cold behavior. He was looking at Kim's test results/file, not John's. I don't know why he wouldn't tell Steve and Marlena though. Historically Marlena and Kim were super close (much closer than Marlena/Kayla) so obviously Marlena would have been extremely sympathetic as would Steve.
  22. Yup. It strange because the Dawn of the Dead story started out really interesting, but like everything under Frank's regime it went on too long. Shiloh was the master villain at the time because the actor was pretty decent. I think the whole thing wrapped up in less than a year, but it felt longer.
  23. Yeah, the story was awful. I just thought Willow/Chase were cute and a nice, relatively normal couple in the beginning. I thought it was a refreshing change of pace for two regular people to fall in love on GH at that time. So obviously it was a perfect time to bring in a cult story for them lol At the time it was stated Brook Lynn wasn't close with her mother and father and didn't want to take money from them. I think even Tracy offered her money. It was all strange, but Lois and Ned weren't on the show at the time so it was all swept under the rug. As if taking money from your parents was worse than being someone's paid escort or attempting to rape someone lol.
  24. Yeah. When Willow first came on the show and she was a teacher. They were together through the whole Dawn of the Dead nonsense. Eventually, they break up so Michael and Willow can get married to get custody of Wiley (it's a whole long Sasha/Michael/Chase/Willow story that is just zzzzzzzzz). Chase and Willow eventually get back together, but she's in love with Michael and a cheating whore from the start so they lie to Chase because he is dying. Then Chase/Willow get married because he is still dying, but she continues to see Michael behind his back. Chase doesn't die obviously, finds out the truth, and then Michael/Willow get together. That was honestly the most concise way I could explain it and it still sounds complicated. Honestly, it was very boring on screen.
  25. That would have made a whole lot more sense, so Days probably didn't think of it lol. Chloe on canvas would also help solidify Joy's connections with Phillip, Brady, and even Xander. Instead of Joy just saying, oh so and so used to date my sister we could see Joy react to Chloe being around them. It would definitely give Joy more depth because at this point she is just randomly inserted into different scenarios that just make me think the show has no idea what to do with her. Ending the Nancy bashing would also make me much happier.
