  1. I am going to imagine it wasn't good. And Wally Kurth called it 'bone-chilling' because he was so horrified by it lol I don't think Freddie is that bad. He had some good moments, but I believe production tried to steer him toward his stronger suits when he wasn't acting disinterested or bored. I don't think they were stifling his creativity.
  2. Do you get the feeling that Freddie wasn't allowed to be 'pissed off' because he was awful at it and production was just being nice in telling him to tone it down? Lol He was being passive aggressive about the recast's writing, but if he wanted the role than he should have just taken it? Freddie doesn't bother me as much as his wife does. She seems so fake. I am sure she's a nice person, but there is nothing genuine about her that translates on camera.
  3. I am sure I brought this up before but is there any chance this was an Ingo/Jax story that Jason was inserted into when IR became..........problematic? It would make more sense to me overall. Jax/Carly grow closer, Jax finds Sonny, lies about it, and it all comes out at the wedding. Britt/Jason remain together, but have problems because Britt misunderstood something and slept with Jax. It did seem overnight for me for Jason to change his feelings. Carly I get. It's in her cannon to want to be with Jason as endgame even if it's shifted throughout the years. But SB has always played Jason with antipathy toward any Carly pairing. That may be a SB choice, but this all seems weird.
  4. Thanks! I feel like something did shift in the storyline. It looks like we are supposed to root for Jarly and Nina/Sonny for real. Maybe it's to make the love stories all more well balanced like you said? I honestly think Carson, Jarly, and Nina/Smike are bad, but Jason/Britt is good and I would assume we will eventually go back to Carson. Is it possible Britt is pregnant and it could be a whose the daddy story with Jason/Jax? That's a lot of kids to bring to GH in a year though.
  5. I may be asking a stupid question because I admittedly don't watch GH every day, but are we supposed to be rooting for Jarly's wedding and for it to become real? Or are we still rooting for Carson to reunite? Olivia looked very pretty in that yellow dress and Joss look pretty in that green. Maxie however......I am not sure if fluffy, layered tulle was the right call for KS. I like LW's hair. The color is weird-like it's colored but only highlights on top and the rest looks dark but the style was cute. Also, Michael is such a traitor. He's been rooting for Jarly his whole life? Whatever Michael.
  6. I thought Dee did really well in the Maison Blanche stuff too. Trying to seduce Stefano to save John, calling Roman to tell him she was on 'vacation' with John, her fear of Stefano, and her torn feelings over John and guilt over they affair while trying to save her marriage. All good stuff. Maison Blanche was a really great arc as well as the others mentioned earlier. There's is a lot of camp on Days and to John/Marlena. I appreciate they make it seem like Jarlena are getting it on at 70 everyday still. Whatever, guys. I do think Dee does well with her children and grandchildren. They just don't get a ton of scenes. I think Dee interacts especially well with Martha Madison as Belle and I actually do think DH was very good in the aftermath of John's death when she went all women scorned for a minute.
  7. Yes! That was exactly the set of scenes I was thinking of. I don't believe that's what she submitted on her infamous "tapes". I believe she submitted the actual exorcism stuff. I think I heard somewhere that Deidre was notorious for sending in bad tapes for the emmys. All the wrong scenes and that sort of thing to get a win. Her late 70's and early 80's stuff was really good, but I assume the competition was probably too stiff back then. Anyway, I giggle at the fact that DH has/had the confidence to send out For Your Consideration tapes, but this woman made a movie about her life so I doubt she's afraid of shameless self-promotion 🤣 Unfortunately, I think this begins Dee's slide from decent actress into camp. After the Possession, DH just started being all OTT gasps and I don't think ever really tried to hit the serious material hard again. I don't think acting opposite Drake helps. They seem to love to be OTT together, while acting with someone like Wayne seemed to reel those 'instincts' in. Oh well, I love Jarlena's form of cheesiness still and look forward to Drake's ridiculous facial expressions throughout this next Possession.
  8. Or trusting Nina to tell the truth? When the woman hasn't in several months? I could understand if Jax had something to lose by bringing Sonny back. If he was with Carly or something, but he literally has no stakes in this. If anything, he would come off heroic. It makes no sense. And it's not as if this brings a different dynamic to their relationship. They have been fighting with one another for 25 years.
  9. It should be near misses and interrupted conversations, but instead it's weird battle between Jax/Sonny over his identity. I know Mike doesn't like or trust Jax, but it's clear Jax knows who he is, so it's just a bizarre reaction from both. I have no problem with Jax finding out, but it should have been later and he basically should just drag Sonny to the wedding for maximum shock value.
  10. Lol! I actually like MarDevil trying to seduce John in a serious of ridiculous ways that real Marlena never would. And clueless John nearly falling for it several times. For me as a Jarlena fan it gave me hope that they would eventually be a couple again after a few years of it being all about Kristen. It was shortly after that it got progressively worse until the end. What I like about the beginning of the Possession is Deidre really played Marlena's fear and shame well. I think the overall camp factor takes away from the fact that DH actually did some very good work in the story. I assume JER was told to drag it out a bit and the ending when John carries Marlena through town and lays her on the altar to the horror of everyone is good and the 'final' scene where John/Marlena embrace in the rain is very good too.
  11. These Jax and Sonny conversations are ridiculous. Jax will tell Mike they fought over women before but won't tell him his name? And Sonny doesn't care? And tells him he doesn't trust him? There is a difference between building suspense and drawing things out and no human would act like these two. Jax should have just told him his name and let Nina explain the rest and leave. And Sonny/Mike should have cared enough to find out. I know it a soap, but I feel like Jax keeps having these circular conversations with several people instead of just telling Sonny and being done with. I hope Jax brings Sonny into Jarley's wedding the way Sonny brought Miranda into Jax/Brenda's wedding all those years ago.
  12. When RC's Mike first appeared Stefano blackmailed him about something he did in Israel (I believe it was shipping arms? because of a girl ) and Mike starting buddying up to Marlena. They spent some time together and maybe went out to dinner, but the whole point was for Mike to get the pin code for Marlena's penthouse security system so Stefano could build his creepy armoire that connected their apartments. So basically, it's Mike's fault Stefano got access to the apartment. That was his contribution to the beginning of the story. I am 99% you are correct it was dropped because I don't remember if anyone found out about the arms dealing or his Stefano involvement. Mike felt really guilty about it all and became the defacto main doctor during the entire possession. I would say overall he had a pretty decent part in the story.
  13. Fair. I think the way I wrote the post made it seem like I was advocating for Nicole. I am not. I simply think Nicole makes the most sense. Looking at other female leads we have I can't see anyone tackling it. None of them can. That's why I think it will be Marlena. We have Kayla, Ava, Nicole, Belle, Allie, Chanel, Lani, Gabi, Abby, Gwen and Chloe full time on canvas. I probably forgot a few. We have Sami and Kristen going back and forth. It almost has to be a story with Marlena getting re-possessed, but again we will see. Maybe Maggie is off screen for so long because she was possessed by the devil and is bringing it to Salem lol
  14. The more I think about it Nicole works the best. She, like Marlena, is adrift because she had an affair and her marriage broke up, EJ could become obsessed with her, and her main man was a priest. She has enough friends to make it work, but Nicole has been morally ambiguous for awhile so it wouldn't be as shocking. I would love a return to Aremid or Paris. I vastly preferred both those stories tbh. I would also think those would be easier to recreate with new characters because it's less closely tied to Marlena/John solely. Unfortunately, it wouldn't create the buzz this will. I still like John/Steve/Shane as ISA agents, and as I said before, I would probably still trust their old asses to save me if I was kidnapped, but we need some new ISA agents. Paul, Andrew Donovan, Will even are names I heard that sound good to me. The whole thing is a double edged sword because I would rather see Jarlena than at least half the cast and it's amazing Days uses it's long times vets as something other than talk-to characters, but this may be too big of a story for them at this point.
  15. I agree 100% with everything you said. The beginning of the Possession was the best part. I loved all the mysterious vandalism occurring and Marlena's reveal as the Desecrator. I even liked the seduction of John and MarDevil giving Sami awful advice. It was good. But the parts with the morphing of Kristen into a panther and beast Isabella were not good. I think the Possession should have been fully revisited in 2004 if necessary. And no, I do not want to see 70 year old Marlena levitating from a bed and 70 year old John fighting off demons as a non priest. I don't think Chloe is important or popular enough to be possessed. I would think it would be better if it was someone related to Marlena or maybe Nicole? Popular enough and PriestEric could save her. All that being said, I'll give it a chance. I like most Jarlena centric stories so we'll see. It just is probably something that had more legs 10 or 15 years ago when the DH's were a bit younger and perhaps a little fresher in people's minds.
  16. I think it worked for viewers because it was something different and crazy, but at the end of the day it was a love story. It was about how John would give up his life and soul for Marlena and how many friends and family banned together to save her and the town from evil. It wasn't camp for the sake of camp. JER had a clear idea of what he wanted the story to be. I fear Ron might just go for camp. It's definitely something I never rewatched and prefer it was not ever brought up, but I understand why RC is willing to give it a shot. It's getting buzz and it's not like Days is considered a 'serious' soap anyway. I give him credit for at least having the balls to try it when others did not.
  17. From what little we have heard it sounds like it's Marlena getting re-possessed, but I am trying to think who I would want to be possessed. It would make sense for it to be someone like Sami, Belle, or even Allie just because they are related to Marlena. I can't think of anyone else that would work for me. I hope it's not Abby or Ciara lol. Time for Eric to be recast and come back as his priestly self.
  18. Haha! Ben's unknown twin comes to town and is a priest!!
  19. The idea that 96 year old Doug could overpower Sami is a lot, but maybe the devil gave him strength. Listen, I would watch Jarlena all day everyday, but they are too old for levitating beds and Drake carrying Deidre all over town lol.
  20. I think I agree pretty much. I do think SJB had good chemistry with Sonny as Carly, but I preferred TB with Sonny. I honestly thought SJB's Claudia had the best chemistry with TC's Nik. Didn't love her and Sonny together. It is weird SJB didn't do much with Jason that go round, but I assume it might have been backstage stuff.
  21. I will go on record saying I am not looking forward to it at all. The Possession has always been one of my least favorite stories and I think the best time to do it with Marlena again was during the SSK story. There are many factors here that make me weary: no budget, the fact the Marlena/John are, well, old, and I am not sure RC can pull it off. Plus there are other factors like John is no longer a priest and there hasn't been any lead up at all to this like there was in 1994. I disliked the Possession, but it was a well crafted story paced very well. I'll watch and I don't think it's the worst idea ever, but I am not looking forward to it. I am happy that Jarlena/Doug/Julie are getting story though.
  22. Yeah she began and acted through the RoJohn/Marlena coma stuff. Andrea Barber was mostly just cute and Christie did the more heavy stuff in the Carrie story. I think Wiki tends to say she started as a teen Carrie and she was about 12 or 13 but she wasn't a soap teen per se yet.
  23. Yes, great find. I completely forgot about that scene. I have seen them all at the hospital and it absolutely slipped my mind. I would assume they had a few more before Anna left and Carrie stayed with RoJohn.
  24. If I am not mistaken (and I could be) there first scenes weren't until 2017. Their respective returns never lined up until then. Anna would have been very useful in the 90's that's why I tend to think it was her choice not to return.
  25. Leann worked pretty steadily during the early 90's on tv with guest spots and movies and then obviously was on Dawson's Creek in 1998. I would assume it was her choice not to return, but maybe the show felt it didn't need Anna. With Tony/Kristen and Marlena as a de facto mother to Carrie it's possible JER thought she wasn't necessary. I don't agree. Aside from the Carrie drama, she could have fit into the Tony/Kristen/John/Marlena stuff or mixed it up with WN's Roman. It also would have been nice to have someone 100% on Carrie's side because Marlena and John were still somewhat sympathetic to Sami understandably. ETA: @te.and I had the same thoughts at the same time lol
