Doesn't JJ live in Ireland or another European country? I could see how it would not be feasible for him to uproot himself and his family again for GH although I haven't seen JJ in much recently. All GH really has to do is find a guy in the right age range that has chemistry with RH (not hard) and go from there. Lucky is a pretty special character with lots of nuances, but it's not a completely unrecastable part. But I am someone who thinks most roles can be recast. ETA-Are you talking about JY? lol. Because what else is he doing? He could come back full time.

I didn't like JY as Lucky. If you can't get JJ or GV I would look elsewhere, but JJ hasn't wanted to do long term in years. Idk why the show hasn't look elsewhere years ago or when GV was free before returning to Days. I wouldn't be devastated if JY came back, but I just don't think Lucky is a great fit for Jacob's strengths.

Yeah, apparently Rinna and KA were not friendly, but banded together with their hatred of RKK and went to TPTB leading to RKK's firing. I believe RKK publicly trashed KA in some interviews after his firing. Lulu really seems like an easily recastable character. JMB was fairly popular, but Lulu isn't really a character with a ton of complexity. A lot of actresses would be capable of playing her. Lucky is a bit trickier, but his absence from the canvas is so glaring. I prefer GV as Lucky over him as Eric on Days. I actually think both characters are cut from the same cloth though.

You know I am pretty okay with RSW, but even I was what asking WTH is he even in these scenes? Too much. I know a lot of people enjoy Eric/Nicole and I am fine with them, but I am not really into this story. Jada/Eric and Rafe/Nicole don't really have much depth. There isn't any rooting value in either couple, so does anyone care if Nicole/Eric cheat? I feel like they are wasting the character of Jada who I do think has potential.

Why was Alex acting like a photographer? He's such a weird character. He's completely unnecessary in these scenes and story lol I find it fundamentally odd that Johnny identifies so closely with his Dimera roots and barely seems to care about his Brady/Evans side of the family. Like does he not know Stefano tortured his mother's family for years? The lighting in the Brady/Chloe scenes was bad. I felt like I could see every bit of filler and botox Nadia has ever used and normally she looks completely natural or mostly natural lol.

He married Miriam Parrish (Days Jamie) when she was 18. It's pretty obvious they probably dated before she was of age, but it was never made public. They were married for about 15 years and had a kid(s) together. IIRC Ali Sweeney's mother pulled her off the show for a time because of the RKK/MP relationship (which is why Sami was off screen during the Possession and the early part of her pregnancy with Will). I am not sure if womanizer is the exact right term. It seemed more like he was creepy and aggressive with his female scene partners and cast members, moreso than actually hooking up with them. Not defending him or anything because he has a warranted bad reputation, but it seems his more recent stints on GH were problem free. So perhaps he grew up or changed? He was a pretty big deal in the 90's, but I think he now has a job as an airline mechanic or pilot or something.

Fair, but Sly still should have been more. I don't hate it, but he could have been part of that teen scene for sure. Sly/Liz at some point would have 99% better than most Liz hookups.

You can't fault GH for trying. It almost makes sense on paper, but it's the same issue GH has today. Same actor in multiple roles might work with the same actress. 1992 was a mess and mostly everything was gutted, but 1993 proved it was a good purge. I think Holly and Julia and perhaps Sly were the biggest casualties of the 1992 nonsense, but when we got what we got after which Riche/Labine it's hard to throw stones at their decisions.

I actually like the idea of him playing the villian/heavy. It makes Li more interesting. Unfortunately, the actor has trouble pulling it off. But I don't think RH is as bad as people making him out to be. I see him more as a charismatic charmer than villian, so he's not right for Li written now, but he could do more.

I remember Jagger/Karen/Jason much more vividly than the others (probably because of my age), but it would make sense that Riche would try everything and Emma/Tony were pretty big stars. I think as someone with no real context of who these actors/characters were (this is about when I started watching) it wasn't very memorable or exciting and ends up just being a footnote in both actors history, so I would have to seek it out again to see if it was any good. Thanks! I guess my question would be was it a big deal really for the show or was it a big deal in write ups/summaries for the show because of who they were? Not asking you specifically, but anyone who watched daily and can remember. My memory is vague and skewed because Julia/Bill pop up more in the videos I rewatch so I thought that was the bigger Bill romance.

I assume that by the time it got around to Bill/Holly the writing was on the wall that Emma was going to leave when her contract expired and Bill wasn't long for the world. I would have to look it all up as well, but was it known Genie would be back by then? It's clear Holly's story was dead ended by Robert/Anna leaving, so maybe at the end of the day the ideal situation was to have Holly/Bill leave together, but it just didn't catch the audience's attention and it was better to just wash their hands of all of it. When bringing Bill or the idea of Bill back it made no sense to negate such a small thing like Bill/Holly, but maybe it was Tony's left over resentment of the whole character and arc. I bet Tony was surprised people even remembered or noticed that line.

I honestly am just speculating at this point. I have no idea who Tony would cover for. I just don't find Tony to be someone to forget a character or an arc he played for several months. He has very specific ideas about Luke/Bill (whether right or wrong). Maybe he just wanted to erase Bill/Holly and Emma didn't remember and Tony was like 'oops I forgot'? Or he genuinely did forget, but he is someone who would tank a scene or story just because he didn't get his way. Again Monty to Riche was a crazy period, so I won't rule anything out and I don't expect actors to remember everything fans do. Tony just strikes me as a little more savvy than that. Or this. Which also seems like a great possibility.

i am anxious to see Kristen in no story at all 🤣. This Brady stuff is so silly.. I don't mind Li either, but it's weird he was hanging around as a D list character for years then suddenly became a main character and got a sister. I almost wonder if Wendy was thought up before Li became more frontburner.

I don't know why it was shorter. They certainly didn't cut out any 'boring' or 'unnecessary' scenes because they all were lol. Li doesn't seem long for this show, so I doubt they'd pair him with Kristen. I am honestly surprised Li has lasted this long and in a vaguely front burner capacity.

Got it. I would be fine if no one mentioned that story again though lol. I wouldn't even care if Stephanie didn't bother to acknowledge they ever met or were together. It was that wtf of a story.🤣

Yes, I don't think it helped Jessica was basically Cathy all over again. Not much difference in personality or backstory. I wonder if JBS seemed better day to day like I said or if the other performers she was working with were just that much better. Obviously different eras (ish), but KA and MR weren't fabulous actresses when they started, but that had a certain charm that JBS just never had. I don't think recasting Josh helped either (I liked the first one) and he looked so much older than her as well. It was kind of creepy and I don't recall them having much chemistry. Blake Berris was always done dirty by Days. I am all for a Horton Beyond Salem, but do you think it would be exciting enough to entice lapsed/non viewers on peacock? The idea sounds great to me, but I am into history and Days's past. Without Eileen or Lisa Rinna are they capturing those casual viewers with that?

I watched. I don't have anything to say lol. The only thing I was thinking is that Kristen brought up Marlena breaking Rolf's brainwashing before and I wonder why Gabi didn't think of that. She's tried damn near everything else lol! Again, the show wasn't bad. It just was another day with boring things happening. But these aren't stories I am actually interested in.

Everything I have seen and read about Jessica made her seem very mousy for lack of a better word even with pretty interesting material. And it didn't seem like JBS had the skills or charisma to carry that much story, but I obviously don't know what it seemed like day to day. With someone like Jessica, who has been off the canvas for so long, you could almost re-invent her like the show did with JLB's Laura (which was largely unpopular, but you get the idea). If the show was serious about Josh/Jessica I would probably recast both with some bigger daytime names. I do think the canvas was still pretty cluttered with characters in that age range at the time, but it's still an interesting idea especially if they gave Josh/Jessica more kids that could mix it up with the younger set.

I love your idea, but at the same time we are probably hoping Jessica/Josh are going to be much more exciting than they actually were lol. I do see the possibilities of Jessica/Kristen working together-maybe Jessica's DID emerges and she doesn't realize she's even dealing with Kristen. I think recast Josh/Marlena would be a decent idea if only because Hope had a love interest and story while Marlena was just there kinda of waiting for Drake/John to come back to the show. I can't even remember why Drake/John was gone, but it was for a long time and I feel like John/Marlena got divorced via email or some crazy crap like that lol. I agree about Tomlin overall though. I didn't mind his run. I always felt Dena was much more personally vindictive with characters she didn't like though. Ron has favorites, but I don't think he obviously actively hates characters. I think Dena might be in theory a better writer even though I think Ron has better ideas. He just can't complete them properly. It's sort of ranking everyone on various degrees of sucking tbh lol. I like @AbcNbc247 idea about Jessica/Josh reappearing on an all Horton Beyond Salem too.

So Tony/Emma took it out? That seems like that might be covering for Ron. I don't doubt they said that, but Tony, at least, was practically obsessed with Bill. I don't think it's likely he'd forget or cut a piece of dialogue that was innocuous even if Holly/Billy never met. Let's say they never met onscreen or Tony/Emma forgot. With all Holly's offscreen activities it was completely possible they interacted offscreen. It reeks of actors taking a fall for a dialogue mistake to me. It's quite possible it's not Ron's fault though and just a breakdown writer.

Echoing that it's good to see you back! Your posts are some of my faves. You and @victoria foxtonhave some great ideas! I think Jessica was dull as dirt, but you both made me want to see her back. RecastJosh could even start an affair with his long time crush Marlena since John/Marlena weren't together over Kristen/Brady back then. I sorta liked Hope with Aiden until things got really dark. They were cute together. DC is such a charming actor even though he kills most soaps he's on.
