THE PLAN TO SAVE DAYS 2022.........too soon?

Andrea/GC looked fine early on, but by the college years she looked significantly older than everyone else. The Steve/Kelly romance pre-show felt so off. JG/IZ had no romantic chemistry and I have a hard time picturing them ever together. Steve worked fine with love interests brought in for him like Claire and Janet, but he didn't really have chemistry with any of the main cast romantically. The only person I could potentially see him with is Donna for comic relief. Ugh...Alison and Jake. I don't even want to talk about how much they built that couple up only to randomly break them up in the end. I pretend Alison is sober and now living her best life with Billy in Atlanta.

I actually could see RS as Billie, but what is on the canvas for Billie to do really? Hang out with Kate? Even if the writing is good I don't know where Billie would fit in.

I would think it would be water under the bridge at this point since it's been so long and they have a now grown daughter together and have both remarried, but who knows? I guess it's weird and I know their breakup wasn't the greatest, but RS and WK seem professional enough to be able to handle it if they chose to. Lois doesn't have to get back together with Ned. I mean obviously FV would throw Lois at Easton or Howarth just because...

I certainly want her to come back to GH, but I don't think she has to. RS seems like someone perfectly capable of booking primetime guest spots or Lifetime/Hallmark movies. She is someone who's face you know even if you don't know her name. After a 9 year run of B&B I don't think she needs to rush out and find her next paycheck either. I have strong doubts she would have returned as Lois back then, but I guess she would have liked to be asked? As she made a point of it in interviews.

I feel like Rena was always someone on the brink of mainstream stardom. A lot of execs tried to make her happen, but it was never the right role. I never considered her to be someone lacking work and was actually surprised she went back to soaps. But I think I remember hearing she was upset that Lois was recast. They didn't even ask her to come back first.

I think Coupling being a HUGE bomb didn't help Rena. She has been a part of a lot of shows in their dying days, but I have to agree Melrose wasn't her fault. She was actually one of the best things about that last season.

I guess I can agree the bones of the story were good, but I disliked it. Full disclosure: I don't like Carly or CC. She was okay in the 90's I guess? But she seemed so lethargic in her return. Bo is the only character out of all this I really like and he didn't come off well. Hope has her good moments, but I felt like this was the beginning of her descent into completely unlikable. I did like Chloe/Phillip and wish they kept Parker his. Maybe the moral of the story is Daniel Jonas ruined everything. I love Melanie, so she was fantastic regardless of being saddled with lame parents.

Sorry, my mistake! Thanks for the detailed explanation. In my mind Sonny came first and the Justin/Hope stuff came after. Ugh just thinking about the Bo/Carly/Hope story makes me angry. It was so bad for all involved.

I mean, Josh Taylor had nearly a decade absence and his previous character was not particular memorable or relevant for Days in 1997. That was fine by me (the lack of explanation of him looking like Chris-not the casting of him as freaking ROMAN BRADY). RSW appeared about 10 min after Ben left. The OLTLers on GH have always been a mess as well, IMO, as have TB and SJB playing roles on GH after playing a very relevant iconic role. But Josh Taylor being Chris was not the biggest issue in that recast. The JE stuff with Bonnie/Adrienne I can give a small pass to as well because Bonnie wasn't supposed to look like Adrienne. JE was re-hired to play an entirely different part and before they cast Sonny no one had spoken of Adrienne in years. Only later did they make it a doppelganger situation. I guess my point is that it's weird to have two Carly's speaking to each other on GH or for Ben to reappear as Alex a week after he left. I guess it's a Kinsey scale of recasts where if the character is gone long enough and not super relevant at the moment it's okay by me lol.

I still like Jax as a character. If you separate someone's horribleness from the character, he was good. I remember the scene after Brenda faked died at S&B's wedding in 2011 when he went off on Sonny and it was glorious! IR was really good when he was ripping into Brenda at the Nurses Ball in 2013 when he found out she was with Sonny. It was an ugly exchange on his part and it's not on you tube anymore, but I remember wondering where that good acting came from because he spent most of his time coasting by on being a good looking, likable, decent guy. Jax did have more to give and more places to go. I don't necessarily miss him or feel bad he was fired, but it's clear he was wasted for a decade at least. In theory, Jax is a much better lead than Jason/Sonny could ever hope to be.

Oh, for sure. Again, I don't even think he's a citizen or can vote but.........whatever. I just remember NLG/Ingo seemingly being friendly at the very least for a long time. I am not blaming her or anything. I just am pretty sure Ingo hasn't always been the way he is now. I was pretty convinced he was a pot smoking hippie surfer for most his life. He named his kid Peanut for God Jason's sake lol!

Maybe that's why we didn't hear from Nancy, but I swore Ingo posted his rant on twitter. I do think Ingo/Nancy were friends/friendly. They did seem on the same side about a Jax/Alexis romance and both seem for it. Politically, I honestly don't think Ingo went public with his beliefs until recently-the last 5-10 years. I am not even sure how Ingo became so politically charged because he seemed like a chill, surfing Australian until about 2014.

Absolutely. None of it should have been allowed anywhere near fan or GH events. It such a gross manipulation of your loyal fanbase. It also was at the height of the "Jason is the ultimate hero and perhaps a deity as well" stories on GH. 🤮. Steve was already charging people to see his 'band' and I guess if people want to see that it's on them and their ears. I assume Steve made a lot of money on all this. Anyhow, my thoughts on Steve as a person are much different than my thoughts on Steve as an actor and Jason as a character. Billy got some really bad writing for AJ, but I always felt he was badly miscast. BW tried, but he just wasn't AJ.

I love you! Want to be best friends?🤣 Seriously though I actually preferred Lois/Brenda to Robin/Brenda. That friendship always seemed slightly more equal. I loved them both though. My only concern about Lois is the writing for her. I know GH doesn't care about that stuff, but she was such a unique and quirky character. I am not sure GH would be up to the task of using Rena to her full ability.

I vaguely remember the magic juice crap storyline. Obviously, no one backstage cared. JFP was probably shilling it herself. The strangest thing to me was how many cast members outwardly supported it. I don't think MB was part of it per se, but he was rocking Monavie merchandise all the time and so were a lot of other people. Ingo was the only one that was like 'not cool, man'. I don't think even Nancy chimed in. Whether it was out of fear or other circumstances, the cast all seemed to be down with starring in a mini-Monavie commercial. It truly was a strange time and then it just disappeared, so I would assume there was some type of discipline eventually handed out.

Lois has always been one of my favorite characters. I would love to see her back. Although, I do think Lois makes Olivia redundant as she has always been Lois-lite to me.

I know TB's Taylor was a bomb and Ava was regarded as the much better character but it would have made more sense to bring Taylor back over Ava. There are/were more places the Taylor character can go.

She can always go back to GH. It has been glaring Lois hasn't been around all this time. I do have my concerns about Lois as a character in 2022 because she always seem like the perfect character at the perfect time in the 90's, but GH doesn't care about any of that.

It was about 10-15 years ago and Steve was selling this health juice. The problem was it was basically a pyramid scheme and he was encouraging castmates and his fans to join. If the fans joined (I think it was a several hundred dollar buy in to sell this juice to others) they got special perks at his events like private meet and greets or whatever. He also spent a good portion of his events schilling this juice and its benefits for anyone at his appearances. Obviously, he was making money off this, but in true MLM fashion no one else was. I don't know what happened to Monavie or Steve's involvement. He got a lot of heat for it and I have no idea the status now. I haven't heard anything about it for at least a decade. Anyhow, Ingo was very vocal about how it was a crappy and obnoxious thing to do to fans. I am sure I am missing some facts, but that is the gist of it. Steve wasn't the only one on GH selling it. The guy that played Max was pretty high up in the pyramid and I think BA (Spinelli) and BH's husband were involved as well, but Steve was by far the most greedy about how he went about getting people into the scam. Btw, I think the juice is just acai berry juice that was supposed to by special lol.

I think RSW has one of the highest guarantees. But then again I think Deidre has topped the episode count overall the last two years and I feel like we go a full month sometimes without seeing Marlena, so RSW might just be more *noticeable* being on all the time because everyone hates Alex.

At the very least just acknowledge Alex looks like Ben and call it a day. I don't even care if they don't explain it. Just say it's a really weird coincidence. That would be ideal and I think VK is a good actress and has a great look, but has she ever booked anything outside of Days? Not to be mean, but it doesn't seem like she had any other projects during her absences. All I see on her wiki is stuff she did before Days.

So what happens when VK doesn't book any jobs? Is RSW going to do double duty and play Ben? Are we expected to pretend Alex/Ben aren't the same actor? Perhaps Victoria will become a huge movie star, but history has told us she usually comes back after a few months. This Alex stuff has been really dumb so far. I don't know why the show couldn't wait a few months to bring RSW back.

It didn't stop Days from hiring him. Idk, it seems like Ingo (rightfully) got much more backlash. Steve was just a little more low key about his views I guess. After all that Monavie stuff and no consequences, I have no faith GH cares. Funny, I remember thinking Ingo was so cool for calling Steve out on the Monavie scheme lol. How times have changed....

Oh, I 100% agree SBu will be back. I have no doubt that this show will end with Jason Morgan on screen. The Jason Q memories would be about 10 times more exciting than anything he's done this century. It's a shame SBu is the type of person he is because I actually think he could be a really decent leading man. Not to be SBu's hype man, but I think he actually has more range than Mo and ability to generate chemistry with romantic leads...which is something MB lacks. It's just such laziness like you said.
