  1. Totally fair. I just find Portia very unlikeable at times, but I know the writing is slanted against her. It's like Curtis makes her miserable and she basically better with anyone else in scenes. Jason tripping Drew made me LOL. Britt, being unable to tell lemonade wasn't alcohol as a Dr. and supposedly intelligent person was odd. Even if you can't taste it you can smell it.
  2. I always thought Portia was kinda smug in her upright personality and was actually just messy behind the scenes. Like it was all a front. I can totally see her going to someone more troubled than her and striking up a friendship. Almost as a way to make her actions right. Ava has done way worse, so I am not so bad. We've all had that friend lol.
  3. Portia isn't written with that much complexity, but I do think it's easy for her to talk to Ava because she knows Ava has made huge mistakes and cares about Trina-and will have her back. Honestly, I would rather watch Ava/Portia for an episode over Curtis ambushing Portia over the pregnancy. And, yes, Portia should have told Curtis he might not be the father, but I can actually understand her being caught off guard and overwhelmed in the moment. Sure, it's the same mistakes over and over, but it's also human.
  4. I really like their relationship too. Portia is often written as a hot mess, but Ava has no judgement and I love that.
  5. Cat's apartment is the same set Allie/Chanel, Tripp/Wendy/Li, Ava, etc lived in. It was Eric/Nicole's apartment first and Sonny/Will lived their for a time. While they may reuse set features it's the exact same layout that was used when Connie killed Li Shin. The same apartment has been used multiple times it just changed occupants.
  6. I am not surprised, but I don't even think you need to commit or truly develop the Choi family. Just slightly change their narrative to make the dad's absence make sense. He left, he died, he's an absent father, working overseas, whatever to give the situation more context. Amy handling everything while she phone's her husband every 2 weeks off screen is just lazy.
  7. No, Abby was always Sam's stripper friend. The reason it gets murky is Sam offered to pay Abby to sleep with virginal, traumatized Michael because Michael asked for a hooker to get his first time over with (okay, Sam...). Abby didn't actually sleep with Michael that night nor did she ever intend to take the money. The show went out of their way back then to make it clear she was "only" a stripper. I assume the show just lumped the whole sex worker thing together and RG's Michael would have no idea. I mean, probably only 10 of us remember Abby at all. Her death by crane was the most exciting thing about her lol.
  8. I think the show really dropped the ball with the Choi family. The actress that plays Amy is strong, but it's really glaring and odd that there is a Mr. Choi that doesn't ever appear even though they are still married. Amy seems to make all the decisions for the family. If the show couldn't cast an actor for the part it would have made a lot more sense for him to be dead or have left the family. It could have been the catalyst for Sophia's mom finding religion and the reason she is such a helicopter parent. It also could have played into why she eventually relented to the adoption, realizing she couldn't afford to have another child as a single, working parent. It would also explain why Sophia was left alone to her own devices and Amy not being aware of what she was doing. Instead, Papa Choi exists as phone calls off screen, which makes very little sense. There has never even been a passing comment where Sophia or Amy even gave the dad's opinion a thought or mentioned him visiting or talking to Sophia about any of this lol.
  9. This has been a problem for a long time. I can't even remember the last time Alexis had a real love interest. The show seriously lacks romance. The only stable couples on the show are Chase/Brook Lynn, Ned/Olivia and Felicia/Mac. The latter two don't count for much of anything regarding their romance. I suppose you can count off screen Kevin/Laura. Even all the potential pairings you mentioned don't have much appeal. Maybe Britt/Jason to some parts of the audience? The rest are with day players, boring or with an actress who appears to be off screen indefinitely (Maxie).
  10. It's awful. Listen, if Charlotte never appeared again I wouldn't question it. The correct thing to do is retcon Lulu as her mother and send her to boarding school forever. If we have to live with her than this actress is fine. At least she doesn't say Papa anymore.
  11. Bluesy is a real choice of name lol. But she makes me not hate Charlotte anymore, so that helps her cause a lot.
  12. Ouch! First Abby gets killed by a crane and now Michael calls her an escort. She was a stripper that was going to have sex with Michael for free as a favor to Sam!!! DT must be so happy Curtis got his Laura fix today. I like Ava and Portia's friendship a lot.
  13. Thanks. I saw her in previews so I had time to process
  14. Yes. Kin seems to get grumpy easily lol. Scott really struck out with kids (besides Serena)-Karen was revealed to be his when she was leaving, Logan died, and then he got Franco.
  15. I will say Kin does tend to unnecessarily ham things up and make them wacky, so I could see that being a time waster if the lines weren't called for. To be fair though Kin complains about most the regimes he's worked for so it's not specifically Frank lol.
  16. I still think they show Turner, Ric, and Martin more than, say, Felicia. We know next to nothing about Isaiah, Britt is awful, and Liz has no story except to talk to Willow and be around for Ric, the recurring lawyer. Yeah, the hospital doesn't feel like the main hub for the show. If anything, the PCPD has more action going on.
  17. I believe you are correct. He was having ankle/foot issues, but they showed him in a scooter? saying Scott was injured and I think Kin went on (another) rant because he was let go and not given a real exit.
  18. I don't know who is on contract or not exactly, but we have Liz Portia Willow Britt Isaiah Felicia Lucas You have other fringe characters like Stella, the random day player nurses, and Terry also there. I don't think I forgot anyone. Lawyers ADA bot Turner Molly Alexis Diane Ric Martin And when you add in the police/WSB side of things it's more like Law & Order than Grey's Anatomy lol Willow was "working" up until her arrest pretty regularly. They showed her on shift. I use working in quotes because she was mostly distracted by her personal life or talking to Drew though.
  19. Yeah, I can't really argue with any of this. Most (if not all) of her family doesn't take her seriously. Tracy can be mean and bitter, but she's no fool. You could see Ronnie was a scammer from a mile away. I know I am supposed to believe BLQ is a wonderful, kind person, but she's coming off as a naive idiot. I could understand if the Jacinda actress had some real charisma or potential and knocked it out of the park in the Drew story. I am not discounting the fact you can find real talent in minor, brief roles, but there is literally nothing special about her. And, yes, Curtis, Portia, Jordan will be swapping partners until 2028. I could see the show dumping Isiah before that though.
  20. I think there are too many lawyers. Even if it is the largest cast in daytime 20% of your cast shouldn't be lawyers. There are almost more lawyers than hospital workers. ADA Sonny bot and ADA Molly are redundant. Alexis, Diane, Ric, and Martin end up splitting cases and while that's realistic, there isn't enough story to go around. Plus, it entirely pushed Scott off the canvas. Believe me I am no Kin or Scott fan, but he is an important character and could do the same thing Martin is doing with actual history behind it. I actually liked Martin/Lucy for a minute lol. But again, Scott could have easily taken his spot instead. The show seems scared to pair Tracy with anyone. They teased her with Gregory, a little bit with Cody, and Martin. I don't mind Tracy without a love interest, but it's odd the show drops them as quickly as they start. I wouldn't say he is an Eva La Rue level flop lol. He is a stunt cast day player that outlived his usefulness. GH is full of those characters.
  21. I have never been clear as to what Martin brings to the show. Scotty could basically fill the exact same role and interact with the exact same characters. It's not like the familial bond between Martin and Laura is super important or strong.
  22. The thing is people, including myself, wanted a Jimmy Lee Holt child to show up at some point. There was so much you could mine from that story, but then we got Austin. It's more of a slap in the face because a lot of fans wanted it and Frank thought he was using valuable history while giving Howarth his 15th role. The AMC/OLTL/LOVING crossovers bother me to no end. I know they all exist in the same universe, but we have multiple OLTL/AMC actors playing new parts on the show. Like using the same actors numerous times in different roles, it makes me feel like I am dumb as a fan. As if I didn't realize Sarah Brown is now Claudia or Michael Easton has played 10 roles or Ryan Lavery and Babe are on my screen. I've always felt the show should pick a lane on this. Small winks and nods are fine and using actors from other soaps is obviously fine as well. Just don't pretend everyone knows Erica Kane or Lulu is writing for the Llandview Banner when Vicki's right in front of me playing a different part.
  23. Lol! You really could do anything with her-even give her the Cassadine past that was heavily hinted. I know the audience probably isn't clamoring for a Miranda return and she hasn't been mentioned since 1997, but it was a bit of a dropped story between Mac/Miranda that could fit the timeline better. Plus, it's not like Leslie Horan set the world on fire in the part, so you wouldn't have any real constraints on casting.
  24. Yeah, I don't really get the Anna is kooky or vapid thing. LH doesn't air much, but when she does have scenes with Tony, Marlena, or even Carrie she doesn't seem like that at all. She's often very astute and other characters like EJ and Gabi are calling her tacky, silly, and selfish. When I see no evidence of that. The Horton home shot was odd. I thought the one of the Spectator office was worse though lol. You are telling me that little cubicle is in a high rise, fancy building? I thought it was seriously in a strip mall or something. It's not starting well to be honest. They made Anna seem hysterical and embarrassed when it is actually concerning Tony went missing.
  25. I actually dislike the way the make Anna seem dumb and flighty. She's spoiled and vain, but she isn't stupid. And the show makes fun of her and her design career like she's tacky, which IIRC, was actually quite a successful venture for her in the 80's.
