I don't think they are going to drop this surrogacy story. I think it's moving ahead recasts aside. Maybe they hired this Molly to be the heavy in this story. Kate Mansi's Kristina looks like the cool, free sister and Molly is the dud.

Definitely. I think the father backstory was always there as far as the fact he was a bad guy. Nicole was always vague and shady about the dad and her upbringing. She was very embarrassed by Faye being a waitress as well. Taylor first appeared with an entirely different last name (Raines) and I have no idea why. I don't think it was ever an idea to make Paul Latino until Days had to clumsily handle clearly Hispanic Cedeno and how he might be Abe or Paul's son, which is a whole other issue lol. The Walker/Mendez backstory has always been a little weird.

Not really. Nicole's dad was abusive and beat Faye and the children. He also sold Nicole into porn and raped Jan Spears. Abe helped send him to jail. Faye was basically a single mom and it makes sense the children used that name. I also believe the family was trying to hide from him at different points in time. I actually think they made Paul Latino after the Walker family was thought out because of Matt Cedeno's casting to explain the reason Brandon looked more ethnic than his sisters. So, I don't think it was a case of white washing necessarily, but more the kids didn't want anything to do with an evil guy. But that's just my take and other people could absolutely see it differently.

The other day when John knocked down Jerry's door I was seriously worried about Drake's health. Why is Days making this poor guy still do stunts? To be fair, I have always thought Drake/John looked significantly younger than both Roman's. He's aged a lot in the last decade though. On a different note, it's so strange to think when Drake was EM or GV's ages John was settled with Marlena with multiple children, but Eric's on his first kid and Brady can't figure out how to move out of his parents house.

I enjoyed today's show. So why didn't Jada or Rafe get Lani's location before this? It took the US Marshall like 2 minutes to get it. Rafe is the worst detective. Kate and Paulina aren't wrong. I liked the attempt to tie Nurse Whitley's story together with Marlena, but her motivations still don't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe they will expand on it more on Monday. I really can't take John/Steve's 'tough guy PI' schtick seriously. They are both 70! Jerry could have probably just out run them. And John flashing the gun (the one Brady stole?) at Jerry. What was John going to do? Shoot him if he didn't talk lol?

I think if we are stuck with this Molly the show may want to try to dress her younger. I know Molly is a lawyer and they dressed HP older because she looked young, but the suits probably need to go. Sam dresses young and Kristina was wearing a crop top and jeans lol. Meanwhile Molly was dressed in an outfit that even Alexis would consider matronly. It's not helping the cause. As far as her acting, she was okay. I was hoping she would be super charismatic or really excellent to explain this casting. Unfortunately, she was just very average.

I would take 50% less Paulina scenes and 50% more Marlena scenes, but such is life....and Jackee seems to have a much higher guarantee than most other vets.

Yes, those were good scenes. It was just a very weird trajectory for Brenda as a character especially knowing Michael was a victim of sexual abuse. But whatever, it's been a decade lol. I'll get over it someday. I am always advocating a Brenda return, but it would be nice if Carly had a solid adversary these days. Nina is practically scared of her own shadow and of losing Sonny at any moment. It would be refreshing to see someone with confidence go toe to toe with Carly or at least someone to call her out.

Agreed. I think Drew sort of makes Jax redundant because they feel like they fill the same space even though Drew has an entirely different backstory. CM has always felt like a very similar actor to Ingo to me. Just likeable* hunks without a ton of depth. And you easily could have filled Jax into this corporate story better than Drew. Jax/Brenda split when Brenda came back for the NB in 2013 and Carly overheard Brenda ask Sonny if he wanted her back. IR had a weird cameo because I THINK there was more to the story, but he had to go film DWTS. Unless, Jax/Brenda got back together and I missed something and broke up again when IR came back the last time. If that's the case I might as well turn in my fan card. But Jax was actually really brutally mean to Brenda when he dumped her in 2013 and then she went and fake slept with Michael. I'm still not over it. *likeable before Ingo became a Anti Vax Trumper.

I would actually be good with a Jax recast. I loved Jax, but especially when he was a bit more grey in 1996-2000 before he became the anti-Sonny. If the character was re-booted more jaded and not the designated loser I would be into it. I do think he is needed just because his dumb daughter is the young lead of the show. It's not the most popular sentiment because of Ingo, but if GH was willing to take the time to really develop Jax again, which I think the show actively stopped post-Vanessa/Brenda, it would be interesting.

I loved TK as Alcazar (both of them). I don't see him ever coming back though. Finn probably would be okay. I think Alan full on adopted a 40 year woman, so Skye and Ned aren't technically related, but I think Skye considers herself a Q. I always thought Skye/Sonny would be interesting, but knowing RC's disdain for MB that was never in the cards.

GT wouldn't bother me as Skye. I could see her working in that role. Again, I don't love her, but I can see the idea behind your thoughts. Who would they even pair Skye with at this point?

She was, but it did almost feel like an entire different character. I would say it's a personal bias because Skye went up against Brenda, but I like Carly just fine and always have. I just have never liked any of RC's characters. It's one of those things where I know she's a good actress, but I just don't connect with anything she does. I always was curious what happened with Genzel/Days and her take on Nurse Ali. I never understood why that didn't work out. Lisa Linde ended up doing great, but I always wondered why Genzel didn't work more. But that's for another thread I suppose.

Half the people that go to the pool aren't even there to swim lol. They are in full business attire. I have a pool in my backyard and don't go out there unless my intention is to swim because it's hot. I could deal with a Skye recast. I liked Carrie Genzel. I find RC to be very cold and unlikeable, but I have explained that many times on here lol.

The cynical part of me wants to say, yes, there's a reason, but it probably comes down to the fact that Chanel spends tons of episodes with Paulina and it probably blows through RB's guarantees.

Wendy was always jealous of Chanel but they never interacted. Also, Eric as a priest was always so weird to me. It work for the Kristen story years ago, but when you actually think about Eric and his upbringing and life it doesn't work at all. It's probably Nicole's most consistent character trait.

I am all for everyone expanding their work experience, but those two seem very unqualified. It honestly just feels like a hotel the Quartermaines should own and run. I'll grudgingly allow Olivia to be called a Q, but it would make more sense if Ned owned it with her. No, although I do know that's what he's most famous for. It's one of those shows that's a little before my time but I am interested in watching it. I just don't think it's the most easily accessible show to find these days.

He gets the creepy part down. It's weird to wrap your mind around the fact him, Martin, and Laura are related. Don't ask for Nina more than she already appears. I still don't know what the hell either of those two know about running a hotel. At least with Jax/Carly owning it we knew Jax had business acumen and he probably just gave Carly an office to feel important. Nina's time in a coma and Olivia's time as a teen mom and amateur chef don't scream 5 star hotel owners to me.
