  1. Thank you! I woke up this morning still very sad, but then I thought of all the crappy times in my life that I just turned on Days and Drake/John made me smile no matter what. John/Marlena got me through some rough times. It will be difficult watching the next months on Days knowing he's gone but I will forever cherish the memories. It's touching to see cast members talk about him. He seems universally loved. I am praying for his wife and family. The way Drake spoke about his wife was always particularly touching.
  2. What a beautiful post by Martha. Ali's was lovely as well.
  3. Yup. It hits hard for me. I just love John/Marlena. And I don't know how I am going to get through 9 months or so of him still on screen. Cancer is a b*tch, but I still hope his family, friends, loved ones know how much he meant to me and all of us.
  4. I actually cried when I first read this and I had heard solid rumors he was very ill. I just didn't believe it. Not my John. Not the most awesome dad in the world. I hope all his loved ones know how much he will be missed by the daytime community. A true legend and a stand up guy.
  5. I had heard rumors he was ill, but I always thought he was invincible. He seemed like a wonderful guy and family man. My prayers to everyone that loved him and there are a lot of people out there that do.
  6. RIP Drake. No other words. I am devastated.
  7. I would assume about 7 to 10 years on the show, but only 3 years IRL
  8. I don't think Chanel is keen on Holly because of her crush on Johnny. Holly is kinda dumb, IMO. She doesn't have any street smarts and trust too many people. And, yes, everyone calling Holly's "Aunt Sarah" is obnoxious. Like most of us watch everyday. We don't need the familial reminders.
  9. It would make more sense. I don't want them to fall into the Shawn/Belle mold where they are destined to be together forever and ever. That's boring. Obviously, Nicole being off canvas is a fail, but other people around town being scandalized by it could make up for it. EJ needs to be his sleazy self. The show is playing the character too much on the fence about him being decent vs. evil.
  10. True. That would be so soapy though. Her and Tate are dullsville. I guess they could revisit her and Johnny. Especially when they planted the (fake) seeds that she had a crush on him way back when and then the way she is physically with him currently. Holly hugging him and saying he's the only one she can trust.
  11. They really don't have a ton of romantic chemistry and even when Holly is awful Tate feels almost accepting or patronizing. Like "Oh, Holly, you are so silly". I mean if they want to really go there age Holly up a bit and hook her up with EJ.
  12. That's fair. I just think this is sort of old hat shenanigans with Sonny/Carly and it shouldn't be so exhausting for them. It's their bread and butter toxicity. Like I assume they can pretend to be a couple for a dinner without it being annoying to them lol. It's not like they had to make on on a conference desk or anything.
  13. Yeah, in the past a college age guy could pursue a high school girl on soaps and it wouldn't even get a side eye. I can see why Days tried to make them the same age, but the onscreen maturity level is just so off.
  14. Yeah, I think it opens everyone up to a bit more adult stories too. I know soaps are built on the teen scene, but I tend to find high school storylines trite and all about virginity and/or teenage pregnancy, so move along Days lol.
  15. Yesterday's episode was pretty good. Carly and Sonny being annoyed about "pretending" to be together feels false. They've been weirdly close exes for years it shouldn't be that hard lol. I don't really understand why there were multiple scenes between Brennen and Carly about the dangerous airspace the plane was in when absolutely nothing happened. It was a weird waste of airtime. Lucky calling Liz at the hospital gave me the feels and I am not even a huge LL2 fan.
  16. I would probably just ditch the high school setting for Holly/Tate/Sophia and just say they are in college. They all look a bit too old for high school. AP probably reads the youngest, but she's 22 or 23 IRL and could obviously play a college kid. I can't imagine LH as Will, but I totally get why @Liberty City said he reminds him of Guy Wilson. Again, I don't think LH is hopeless, I just don't think the show is writing toward his strengths and they need to figure that out. It's just not working right now.
  17. I hope not lol. Nothing against Kassius, but that would be weird to me. It's a setup for failure since he really doesn't have any acting credits yet. I think MB's son was one step of nepotism too far on GH.
  18. Her kid not being Jax's was one of the dumbest mistakes ever. Even with the Ingo of it all, I still stand by that fact. The conflict would have been so much greater than with Dante even. It's not like Brenda or Dante even knew one another existed. Instead, it's the dead Balkan's son kid. Ugh.
  19. I think it can sometimes work if it's coming from a true character standpoint. Not from ego or just not liking a story. For example, Vanessa vetoing a Dante/Brenda romance/baby was probably the right choice for the Brenda character in the long run. If someone is looking out for the integrity of character instead of personal preference I don't mind that much, but at the same time, it becomes a slippery slope. Sometimes actors have a very different idea about their characters than the writers do.
  20. It's not only that he looks too old because that wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker for me. It's that Howard has this air of maturity like he's too wise for this nonsense even when he's doing idiotic teenage things. I can't really explain it well, but it's like LH plays Tate without getting upset with high-strung emotions because he knows this is all stupid lol. So, you should be correct about everything. When the secret room was introduced in 1997 it was behind the actual wine cellar. I get the impression now you have to follow quite a few hallways/tunnels to get there and perhaps if just a secret room and a single tunnel blew up it wouldn't necessarily affect the main house? I am very unclear if any of those "secret" structures are actually attached to the foundation of the mansion. Basically I am wondering if these new secret rooms are supposed to be the original secret room and I don't think so. Because after 1997 the OG Secret Room wasn't so secret so I think Stefano et al added on to make new ones lol.
  21. It was pretty gross. I didn't like Anna's freakout leading up to it either. It seems out of character for her to be that panic-stricken, which also makes me think it's a rouse for the guards. I wasn't advocating it? I pretty much constantly say the same thing you are on here about GH actors having storyline say. I just shared my thoughts on why Mo probably has more favor than Steve at this point.
  22. I can actually see that. He does remind me a little bit of Guy Wilson lol. Howard is an okay actor, but he doesn't seem like Theresa/Brady's son in looks or personality.
  23. I was going to just come here and post the same. I don't really mind Howard, but I keep thinking how JMM would play scenes and that's not a great sign for a recast. JMM would have done them with so much more emotion and hurt. Unfortunately, I also think they need to cast someone who looks younger than Howard as well.
  24. I know this and I also know Robin and Jason will never get back together. They were still one of my favorite couples and Anna/Jason is weird to me. Mo has been a lot more loyal than Steve to the show. Steve's left the show multiple times and once under some pretty sketchy circumstances. Mo's stayed put. I can see him having more influence on that basis alone.
