  1. Yes, Tonja Walker. And quite frankly I prefer some of her material pre-Malone. And boy... you have some amazing stuff up ahead. The Lake Madness episodes that are the climax of her obsession with Bo are a must-see. The entire production is perfect. I am very excited for you, since anyone who hasn't yet seen late 1991-1992 is a lucky person in my mind. These episodes have made OLTL my number one soap. There are some dull moments... of course... (especially around people dying) - it's not 100 percent smooth sailing... but the highlights and the great writing/dialogue outshine everything. Right now... I am taking a couple of days pause since I have a lot of work to do and reading a book as well... but can't wait to finish 1992 and head into 1993. I see there is a strong improvement in video quality as I'm going to be entering 1993, so that's great too. Please keep us updated on while you go on this OLTL journey!
  2. Reminds me of when they were acting like presenting Brooke in lingerie in her late 60s is something the whole world needs to see NOW. People were basically flying from the entire world to see Brooke's camel toe up close. KKL looks amazing... but the lingerie and the music they used presenting her... were very tacky. Still, she rocked it as best she could... And the storyline led to nothing as usual.
  3. All of this sounds like a badly written pervert fantasy... you could read on some obscure subreddit... somewhere. Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes.
  4. It was this moment. When he accidentally captured her beautiful saintly (a little out of focus) soul. ❤️ 😁
  5. Bish... I couldn't not screenshot this. This guy...WOOF.
  6. This may be a little more to do with just overall bad writing, but I think it could fit in the criteria of a bad "rewrite". Brooke... after just barely being married to Thorne... (after fighting like a maniac to get him) decides all of a sudden that No! It's still Ridge that she wants, so she disregards Thorne... violating everything that was written before... and starts going after Ridge again... only to get rejected again and that ultimately let to Deacon. Some will say that this was in character for the mess that Brooke was... but I think it was too sudden too early. Smelled like a rewrite. Brad Bell sometimes just randomly decides to shake everything down to starting point. And that starting point is always Brooke begging Ridge for attention. I mean weren't they married for like 3-4 months before Brooke decided she's in love with Ridge again?!
  7. The one I would part ways with... and feel a sigh of relief is this.
  8. I think I'm going to dive in this franchise now... after reading this. Sounds good. 😂
  9. And it was done in such a cartoonish way. That doll... Yikes.
  10. All examples are subjective... and here's one that some might even think helped the show. (It did provide some dramatic moments) I disagree. I think it hurt it in the long-term. In 2002, Bradley Bell rewrote Stephanie as a mini Brooke in her youth... who got pregnant by another man while dating Eric, effectively "trapping" him. The only realistic part? Stephanie didn't even know the baby wasn't Eric's. This marked the end of the Stephanie we knew. And the Bill Bell Stephanie was absolutely long gone by now. Now Brooke could say - you're just like me... and that would not be far from the truth. The whole fiasco sounds possible, sure, but unlikely given the classic Bill Bell years. There was never a hint of a guy like Massimo Marone. Stephanie wouldn't act like that without considering the fallout. Again, agree to disagree with those who liked it. IMO it was counterproductive, making Ridge not his father's son and his kids not blood-related to the Forresters. For example, Steffy Forrester has zero Forrester blood, and Bradley Bell ignores that. Instead, Brooke and her kids are talked like they are some parasites and Steffy - the keeper of the Forrester dignity and name. (Brad also forgot that for years Ridge was parading around as Massimo's official son and in charge of the whole Marone empire) Another reason this rewrite was sort of illogical? When Brooke was pregnant by Ridge or Eric, the paternity test would have shown they weren't related at all. I mean they have 0 connection. We all know Sheila mixed the results in the end... but even before them... the doctors would have known. Whatever way you mix these results... you can't escape this. Even if you name blood 1 - Ridge and blood 2 - Eric and swipe the names... it still makes it impossible for them not to notice. This rewrite also opened Pandora's box (Ridge kissing his previously biological sister and the two feeling in love with each other), which was Bold's ultimate lowest point. https://dnacenter.com/blog/paternity-testing-when-two-possible-fathers-are-related/ -
  11. I came up with the idea for a topic like this, and a quick search yielded no results for a similar subject existing. So... let's discuss rewrites. I've noticed that some people commend shows that can abruptly change direction and introduce a new nuance to the storyline that enhances it. I've seen praise on that topic in the Bold monthly discussion. However, this thread focuses on those instances when a rewrite was so poorly executed or illogical... it severely impacted the quality of the narrative. Events we previously witnessed were suddenly disregarded, and we were compelled to accept a new "reality" that bears no relation to the established facts. Let's examine these bad examples. Which are soaps' worst rewrites ever?
  12. Brad Bell should steer clear of any writing... period. That part I agree with 100 percent. We were very disgusted with the storyline in the beginning phase too... the way it was projected. But then the rewrite made it sooo much more disgusting, rape-denying to 1928901200th level. So I'm glad that at least Lisa knowingly or on accident... cleared the speculation if it was planned or not. Now we at least know for sure... Bell clearly chose to be this disgusting.
  13. What do you mean does it matter? It clearly matters to me. Because I feel incredibly uncomfortable about re-writing a rape storyline with making the girl the aggressor and the one "wanting it" and "had the best sex in her life". I was seeing comments through the months from people saying it was always meant to be a twist and that somehow we didn't see it... and I always disagreed. The fact that we saw her crying in her room alone after the rape was proof to me that the initial storyline was always about this innocent girl to be raped. The re-write was shocking and disgusting and denying it was rewrite bothered me, yes. Very much. So hearing how this was a DECISION made last minute by Bradley Bell... influenced by the actress (per her own words)... make it even more shocking to me. And even more disgusting. A rape victim should NEVER be rewritten to be the aggressor... in a way that denied what we saw and our own intelligence. It was an ugly "escape" in terms of writing that left a bad taste in my mouth and quite frankly... I should have ditched the show right then and there.
  14. I agree with the comments about the new BH trailer. This looks like a season I've already watched. This show is dying. The only thing that slightly interests me is their version of the SLC storyline with this mysterious bitch in the group. But that could just be to trigger interest in the season/ Maybe it's nothing. But yawn... overall. I didn't see real hardcore sh-t in this trailer. It will be a bland season with fake drama.
  15. I knew it! Hhahahahha. Miss Gonorhea's lunch-time exercise. LOL.
  16. A new jewel. @DRW50 @Paul Raven @AbcNbc247
