  1. It's the saving grace. Really stunning indeed. And speaking of vacations... Guess who is off to the the sea tomorrow!
  2. Absolutely. If they had done the work (the writers) and shown us the process instead of the result... In other words if they had let us reach our own conclusions of what kind of person she is instead of constantly telling us what she is... It would have worked. They shoved her in our throats without any substance. For what? To be the antipode of Dani? I fear you may be close to the truth with wondering if they even know who she is.
  3. Amen. This is the true problem with Ashley. She's just a mess and somehow it's an incredibly boring mess. Which should not be possible.
  4. Oh, no. May her soul rest in peace.
  5. I agree. And I personally think they went overboard with Leslie too quickly. (I said this was my fear in one of the first weeks and people told me it's not gonna happen) One of the things they like to do on this show is make the characters appear like they have already ran their course. I don't know how to explain it. We are often presented with results instead of seeing a process. That's what I mean with jumping from culmination to culmination. Dana was initially menacing and interesting, batshit crazy next month, cartoon not long after that. Now she just makes me laugh and that's it. And that's a big mistake. Because TMG is amazing and she can deliver creepy and evil as much as she can deliver camp. It's just the balance is not right. Again... If they continue presenting us with results and past scandals and secrets, this is not gonna change. At times the show feels like it's in season 14 and not season 1 and that is not a good thing for me. Still I don't want to sound like I'm a negative person when I've been enjoying the show the past two weeks. I see the light coming. It's either that or I've gotten used to this Bold 2 type of writing style.
  6. Yes! Absolutely. I think now with the eyes of a grown up you'll see it in a whole new way.
  7. Absolutely. I've been saying this for months. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking it. Even though they are improving... The first 6 months are one tabloid headline after another. One culmination after another. What is in between is what bothers me. They flatline after powerful moments. It seems like they only think of how to wow and shock and not much about how to sustain quality build up. I get that they are battling for ratings in order to survive... I get that, but still... I can't only wait for culminations. Still. They are improving. So I am becoming optimistic.
  8. You captured the essence of Susan Flannery perfectly. She truly was a masterclass in soap opera acting. Correction. Acting, period. I haven't witnessed performances like hers since then. She has saved the show countless times. In my opinion, Bold... lost its last remaining heartbeat with her departure in 2012.
  9. We've just started Dexter. The OG series. What you are saying sounds exciting. It's great that they found a way to re-invent the show so many times. And yes, 100 percent agree that Nixon threw herself into Miranda and ruined her. The show shouldn't have had the main actresses as producers. That was a huge red flag. And MPK is creatively spent. He is out of touch with reality. I would have invited some of the other OG writers like Darren Star. Now it's really sad... because all was for nothing. I even had a HBO subscription for this sh-t. I'll never forgive them for it.
  10. I can't wait to smell the sea and just... relax and not think about anything for the next 2 weeks.
  11. Thank you @YRfan23 and @jcar03! What will we do without you too. Again this list shows the show is very very unbalanced right now.
  12. Honestly, every month since February, they've just kept getting better and better. May was the peak... when Dorian discovered her sister was alive, leading to that whole dramatic moment with Agatha jumping out the window. It was effective on so many levels. The whole storyline felt like it was pulled out from a gothic novel. All these hidden truths and secrets... resurfacing to haunt the characters. You can never tell who the real villain is and who the true hero might be. Absolutely brilliant.
  13. Oh, that's why! Sounds like typical soap opera ex-from-hell type of stuff. Thank you for providing the context. I guess if I ever go back... I'll have to endure some camp and sci-fi outrageousness. I doubt I'll be able to. Anything sci-fi and paranormal and I'm out. I just can't take it seriously, but I don't judge people who do. Different strokes. I'm just a 2-women-with-bone-to-pick kinda guy. I don't need overly "smart" plots or anything too fantastical. No Devils and witches and that kind of spiel for me. 😁
  14. You are welcome darlings! ā¤ļø
  15. Ah, such a lovely photo. Now I get even more why she felt like this. Thank you for posting it @dragonflies!
  16. I will! ā¤ļø
  17. Thank you! This is truly rare. Never seen it before. Amazing.

  19. Thank you @Toups. Well that was a good week ratings-wise for YR, BTG also gained nearly 40 000!
  20. Ahahahha, this scene is hilarious. Who is this Maria gal? She looks like my kind of crazy. 😁 As for turning back in time... I really value your opinion... and if I ever feel like the show isn't fun anymore... I'll take your advice and revisit the 80s. But for now... I'm happy and grateful I still have years to enjoy. For some reason, it feels like things are just getting started... The first few months I watched - from October 1991 to maybe February 1992... it was a bit TOO fast and chaotic. The reason I stuck around was Blair and... probably Dorian. Their storylines really pulled me in. But everything was moving at a crazy pace, with storylines coming one after another. Then in February-March... they began to focus and slow things down. The Blair-Dorian war was finally giving us fruits, and the show felt more genuine and soap-opera-like than ever. In a good way. During those first few months I watched... someone was dying every month, with so many changes, it was like half the cast got wiped out. That really messed with the feeling of authenticity. And you really can't take so much death in such a small amount of time before feeling like the entire show is getting too depressing. There are still little things that annoy me (even the greatest soaps have them), but nothing too serious. If you ask me... I’d kick out couple more characters right now (July 1992). The show still feels a bit overcrowded at times. Sarah needs to go. We don't need a blond Cassie. Cain... what's the point of him? Discard him or give him a purpose. This ridiculous detective Maggie needs to be out... she can't act if her life depended on it... and so on. But the main core of the show is really solid.
