Where I live has a sizable Puerto Rican population and the MSG rally comment is still getting a LOT of attention.

It’s still infuriating, to say the least.

Once again, women’s voices are being dismissed in the media, down to the very end. And we’re only the ones who are voting in higher numbers. Please don’t dismiss VP Harris’ words to disqualify Trump but lend a hand to his voters. She’s the one running, can we remember that? Also, can we remember which presidential candidates once threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans in the middle of a crisis which was costing lives? Which candidate wanted to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland? Can people try to keep perspective for a few days? This is not entirely about media, actual people and their chaotic attention spans bear some responsibility for the fact that so many are so ill informed at this late stage.

Have people seen this? It’s being described as a story of business and romantic clashes. And yes, it is causing some to make comparisons to a certain primetime soap opera set in the world of big oil. Today was pretty exhausting. Had to tell someone “I don’t know what your problem is, but please leave me out of it”. It’s like, I had to put someone on “Ignore” IRL. I have a project I am working on but unfortunately, people don’t respect boundaries and now I have to ‘draw a line in the sand’ and end my association with them. All on a Monday. Sigh.

I know that television is often referred to a the “great wasteland” but the newspaper business, at least for the moment, appears to have taken a nosedive off a cliff into a sea of rubble.

Even though I don’t watch daytime soaps anymore (hopefully this changes early next year), I would nominate Jill Foster Abbott. I am continually disappointed and shocked that a character who has been on the canvas since the earliest days of the Young and the Restless, who is portrayed by such a capable actress as Jess Walton has so little impact. And this was the case years before she moved to Oregon. The show often gave her B-level storylines for years before she decided to move. I have often posted that Jill should have not only been a major titan, on par with the likes of Victor Newman and Jack Abbott, she should also get the types of prominent storylines that they often get. The show has never thought to sideline Victor Newman but does so repeatedly to a character that outranks him in seniority.

Honestly, I have heard nothing about George Lopez. I honestly had no idea what it is you are talking about. Maybe because I live in the NYC tri-state area, it’s all over the news. AOC is upset about it and has a huge platform, she already has a discussion with Tim Walz posted on her YouTube channel. Lest we forget, Puerto Ricans don’t only live in the NYC metropolitan area. There has been an influx of migration from the island to Florida and Pennsylvania, and other states…if the Trump campaign weren’t panicked about this they wouldn’t be doing backflips to try to dissociate themselves from this comedian.

Yeah, I won’t respond either, except to say that as a writer, you are dooming your own work to failure if you focus on who isn’t going to like what you have written or created. That is a guaranteed recipe for failure. Monti Sharp (or his agent) is someone BTG casting should be on the phone with, for sure. On a side note, I’m not sure why trolls come for me first but I learned my lesson from the Cancelled Soaps thread. Do not engage. Maybe I need some repellent or something.

Also, the unnecessary ringing of hands of Dems can only be tolerated for so long before it becomes very very tiresome. I understand not wanting people to become complacent by downplaying chances but it risked encouraging people to feed into a doom loop of hopelessness. Hopefully this will give people some positive reinforcement.

Yes, definitely and I would say the same of that town where that Yemeni mayor of the Michigan town has endorsed TFg. There is a serious split there as other Muslims who reside there, who are originally from nations like Bangladesh and other nations vehemently oppose this mayor’s endorsement and it may very well cost him his position in the end as he has angered many, not just other Muslim residents who balk at endorsing a candidate with such anti immigrant and anti Muslim rhetoric. Apparently, the chaos at the L.A. Times has been going on for several months with the executive editor resigning in January of this year. That’s a lot of turbulence.

Those of us who have been paying attention to Harris’ work over several years are already aware of these initiatives but it is somewhat unfortunate that she feels as if she cannot (or perhaps was advised not to) speak about her work in these areas, especially seeing as it has yielded some genuine and substantial benefits to many in need. President Biden demonstrated the courage of his convictions to stand up and speak a direct, genuine and heartfelt apology on behalf of the government to the victims of those forced to live at those boarding schools constructed for Native American children. It needed to be said and Biden declared that the apology was overdue. This is what leadership looks like and needs to continue to be going forward.

Oh, I definitely agree that he has vast cognitive and perhaps physiological infirmities.

Lauryn runs hot and cold. Any performance involving her son Y.G. and she shows up! She did a sizzling set in Jamaica over the summer which left many of her U.S. fans steamed. There, she not only showed up, she showed out! It was actually phenomenal. Sorry to those folks she bailed on previously but she demonstrated that when she actually puts the effort in, she still ‘got it’. And thankfully, she’s not running for president, although people seem hold her to a higher standard than a man who is running for president. Go figure.
