Get off Twitter guys, it’s a wasteland by design. My post got broken up, unfortunately, that is why it is in two separate posts, which was not my intention.

I wish people would finally abandon Twitter, it’s getting ridiculous. Either Musk is deliberately junking this social media platform or is allowing the wheels to fall off, one by one. There was an article stating that he is centering his account and what benefits his interests, while stifling opposing voices. That tweet that was posted upthread from someone claiming to have been trying to post it all day, does anyone actually believe that this is by accident, or that it’s some kind of glitch? It’s a feature not a bug.

Wow, there are enough accolades to describe his influence on music and culture. All that can be said for now is R.I.P. Mr. Quincy Jones and my condolences to his family and loved ones.

People seem to want to dismiss or forget the Comey factor. Repeatedly. I am not singling out anyone in this thread but in general, I have noticed the panic (though I generally avoid it because I am not on Twitter) but if we’re going to compare, include all the information in making comparisons. For those reasons, in the back of my mind, I guess there is some lingering concern about having too many of the same people who presided over the deterioration of daytime soaps presiding over the production side of BTG. I know they need a certain number of experienced hands if they want to hit the ground running but a few of the names don’t really inspire a whole lot of confidence but I am keeping my mouth shut and my mind open on this, with hopes for the best.

It was something I always expected to happen. The writing for these characters still seems to be mediocre but I guess we will see if the quality of writing for BTG will really challenge the remaining soaps to step up their standards.

Wow, I remember seeing a headline showing him with a quote about mental health and how guys need help too but I thought he meant in general. I had no idea that he was struggling. I think more players have struggled with this than has been made public. I had always hoped that Grigor and Gaël would each win at least one major before they retire, but more and more I doubt this will happen. If tennis industry would stop trying to label players as machines and superhuman and accept that some days players struggle, I think tennis as a sport could finally be a sport of our times. Personally , I don’t find much entertainment value in pickleball but pickleball allows people to accept that people sometimes have limitations (injuries, age, restrictions on level of ability) yet can still enjoy the game. At least don’t frame the situation as a player being weak if they need help.

I have been paying the barest amount of attention to tennis but I saw that clip of Ugo Humbert taking Carlos Alcaraz out of the Paris Masters tournament and man, the French fans were rocking that entire arena. It must have been a Davis Cup-like environment!

The only thing that struck me as “off” about the place was the fact that the wait staff appeared to be overwhelmingly male (at least during brunch, which tends to have a high number of diners who are women) who seemed to flirt A LOT, likely trying to get tips (and perhaps, the occasional phone number) but nothing particularly scandalous. Noa did seem to suggest (if not state directly) that he felt she was two-timing him with Combs (he basically put out a timeline where things overlapped) but in any case, this is not 2003 where people might have been interested. Nobody cares.

And trying to “out” celebrities as having attended a party thrown by Diddy, you gotta love the misspellings of names (Robert Dinero? Who’s that?). Combs is clearly a sleaze but I doubt every social event that he hosted was a “freak off”. I twice attended brunch at Justin’s, the restaurant named after one of his sons. There were no orgies or drug fueled bacchanalia going on when I was there.

Recently, I heard a radio show, where the host lives in Florida and spoke of his experience voting for the first time since migrating to the U.S. He said he voted Democrats down the line. He said any candidate that had “D” by their name, he voted for them…he doesn’t care what anyone said, what words came out of their mouths, he was voting Democrat. 😂
