Deadspin has the rundown of the dustup between Sloane and Pavs, complete with the actual video that the WTA tried to delete.

Two former Yale classmates of Kavanaugh's who previously vouched for him just wrote to the Senate Judiciary Committee to note they are withdrawing their support because of "the nature of Judge Kavanaugh’s testimony." pic.twitter.com/b0DEQIbYQF

That was quick... The NY State Taxation Dept is reviewing fraud allegations involving Trump in the New York Times article https://t.co/fok7NHAx1p

I'm so sick of hearing about the Grifter-in-Chief but apparently everyone is now talking about the NYT article about Fred Trump and his conning spawn and the specifics of their tax evading ways.
Stop what you are doing and read this ground-breaking NYT investigation showing how @realDonaldTrump's wealth was made possible by his father, under questionable circumstances. https://t.co/1WNBTTTKZl
— Ken Dilanian (@KenDilanianNBC) October 2, 2018@Juliajms Last year, I read a very long article (maybe in The Atlantic) that talked all about the Trumps' ties to Eastern Europe, including the former Czechoslovakia.
Yes, and I did read that there were extensive files about the Trumps and the Zelnicek family (Ivana's family) that traveled all the way to Russia because of the connections between intelligence networks of the former Soviet Union.
For this reason, many are proposing that the Russians already had a lot of intelligence and kompromat on Donald Trump before he even set foot in Russia for the first time in the late 1980s.

She owes the IRS for back taxes though and that is unusual in a candidate. At the same time, I have really hard time caring about this kind of thing given the financial shenanigans 45 has engaged in. Of course, that's the danger of corruption at the top, all these smaller issues seem like chicken feed.
$50,000 in back taxes is a lot for most of us but Kemp is disputing a $500,000 loan. Also, Kemp could be in default of $5.2 million for his tanked agricultural business.

Much has been made about Georgia governor candidate Stacey Abrams' mortgage debt but it looks like Brian Kemp has an emerging suit regarding a delinquent loan.
For Brian Kemp, suit over bad loan reveals political, financial perils

Someone said that Ostapenko's ball toss was going the way of Ivanovic, so it was fairly obvious that she was having physical issues.
This is what happens when your sport lacks a player's union.
The tournaments, even some coaches are most interested in getting these players to play tournaments, not to take time off to recuperate and heal.
At this point, it seems like you have to over 30 with multiple Slams not to be penalized for taking time off during the season.
It's not just Ostapenko, what about Madison Keys? Why was she out there playing when she clearly shouldn't be? This is the second tournament in a row where she either had to withdraw or retire from a match.

New @ProPublica investigation finds that IRS tax fraud prosecutions are down dramatically due to GOP budget cuts. Lost tax revenue exceeds combined budgets of DHS, State, Energy and NASA.

Don't know what it means (other than pressure from people coupled with looming midterms) but apparently the FBI got permission to expand the investigation. Same deadline, from what it looks like.

The lies, the lies, the lies...
“Kavanaugh told the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the first time he heard of his former Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez’s allegation that he exposed himself to her in college was in a Sept. 23 article in The New Yorker.” https://t.co/O1NC8abZOZ

I read that if Democrats win the House, there's a good chance most of Trump's NAFTA stuff won't go through anyway.
(and of course if the Democrats do let it go through you will get a lot of "they're selling out to their corporate beholders")
Thanks, it works.
Just this morning, I did read about the Trump administration's push to loosen restrictions on mercury. Man, these Trumpists really don't give two sh*ts about our health, do they? They really want to make the air unfit for human consumption.

The problem can be solved if they just put a towel at the back of the court where it won't be obtrusive to the actual match.
Venus tosses towels, likely believing that she is saving time because she is on the slower side these days. Half the time, she's so in her head that she is not considering where or to whom she tosses the towel.
Fernando and Djokovic have actually screamed in the ball kids' direction, frightening some.
Nadal sends two, sometimes three kids running for more than one towel at a time on changeovers--it likely began because he sweats so profusely during the North American summer hardcourt season but has shifted to a full-blown habit, like the alignment of water bottles.
I doubt Venus has ever thrown a towel this way.

It says "Page Not Found" when I clicked the link. I think I might know what the article is about.
I haven't read this yet but I'm posting it here first as a marker and for anyone else who might want to read.

I love Naomi Osaka. I spotted her talent before a lot of people did and I believe that if she stays healthy and motivated she will definitely go far. In any case, she's already a big star now.
That said, the sooner she moves on from the most unpleasant aspects of the final, the better off she'll be and the press needs to allow her to move on.
As for Tennis Channel, hopefully they don't try to stuff their WTA coverage into their overpriced TC plus package.

Honestly, I don't know what these means, other than Swetnick will be telling her story to the public.
Update: An NBC source confirms that @TVKateSnow interviewed Julie Swetnick today... now the network is "reporting it out," the source says https://t.co/f8sLZvGafT

I hope his faith is not misplaced here but I guess he knows more than we do about these things.
News is what the powerful want to keep hidden. By limiting the scope of the FBI investigation on Kavanaugh, the White House is daring the press to shed more light on what's lurking in the shadows. I expect my colleagues will not disappoint. Hold on to your hats.

In homage to Arthur Franklin, WLS posted this video from 1979.
John is all over this, lol but the scene between he and David is sort of meditative but with that brewing antagonism simmering just beneath the surface. Good stuff! And the visual quality.
Surely, there's a way we can try to agitate PGP/P&G to release more episodes! An online petition on change.org or something?
