I really hope he's not still a "thing" in the next year.
So, um, @MichaelAvenatti tells @mollyesque & @aabramson that the 2020 Democratic nominee "better be a white male."
— Graham Vyse (@GrahamVyse) October 25, 2018
“When you have a white male making the arguments, they carry more weight,” he says, adding that he wishes they didn't.

They probably know that if they stick with Trump they will get sweeteners to help bail them out, even if the public gets screwed over.
I keep reading that what we're doing to China is a big reason for our slump, because they're slumping. Yet no one in the White House (no one with any voice anyway) saw this coming, or cared. They don't care about anything but themselves and their nihilism and bigotry.
The markets are not about the ordinary person but about shareholders. Remember that distinction between Wall Street and Main Street? This is about Wall Street and Wall Street does not like volatility and from everything I've read over the years, neither do they like a Bear market, which is what this is threatening to become (if it isn't already there).
Financial pain will eventually trickle down to the masses when things get bad enough (or if it's in an industry that affects consumers like the housing market) but the gains on Wall Street are rarely felt by the masses, and these subsequent shake ups are acutely felt by Wall Street, and K Street, by extension.

Also, I'm watching to see how long the financial markets continue their downward slide. The S&P 500 has already lost all the gains it made in 2018. I wonder how much sustained support and complicity Trump Inc. can expect if they continue to tank financial markets? Especially through Election Day?

Also, aren't Tsitsipas and Medvedev's families friendly with each other? Tsitsipas' mother is Russian.
In fact, from what I remember, both players' mothers completely blew off the incident, claiming that both guys actually get along well off-court.

People who are dismissively calling these "hoax bombs" are missing the entire point. Whether the devices cause carnage or not, the intent is to terrorize people and upend their lives, which is why the media needs to grow a backbone and call it what it is...domestic terrorism.

At this time of political chaos, let's not forget about the everyday corruption that still occurs on a daily basis.
In 2016, when Donald Trump was fighting back calls for him to release his tax returns, a Beverly Hills tax lawyer wrote an op-ed bolstering his claim that he shouldn't release his returns while under audit.

In 2018, Trump made him commissioner of the IRS https://t.co/X8yMhPL0BY0 -
James Karen had such an impressive body of work (his final project is still in production), I'm pretty sure everyone on this board knows him from somewhere. I remember him from an episode of The Golden Girls and who can forget his turn as the racist man who George saves on The Jeffersons??
His time on ATWT was before I was born but it sure would be nice is there was a clip out there somewhere that could be uploaded to YouTube by someone. CBS, remarkably produced a bunch of pristine clips of classic ATWT before the show was cancelled and I see some rare episodes from the 60s up there, so I hope one of him on this show can be found...somehow.
As a child, growing up in the NYC tri-state area, I also remember him as Mr. Pathmark.

Don't these YouTube videos embed anymore?

Russia probably demanded that Trump use an unsecured line, better for them to listen in. The Chinese were not going to let a good unsecured line go to waste.

Speaking of Borna, this is a nice thing for him to do.

I will leave you 2 tickets for friday.. just tell me to whose name. they will wait for you on the will call, don't forget your ID ✌ https://t.co/tXstmNQ24M0 -
Yeah, I think José was saying Grigor landing outside the Top 20 was likely, not inevitable.
I don't know what to say about Grigor's new look. I was envisioning a buzz cut like Borna Coric but I'm now guessing it's more extreme.
I'm afraid to look now.
Serena's going to be onstage for a talk with her ex. LOL.
So excited to be joining @common on stage in Chicago for a Creative Minds Talk on Oct. 29 at the Lyric Opera House! #creativemindstalks

What was up with Grigor's new hairdo? Yikes!!
He should've won today but again played not to lose.
And Jack Sock will soon be out of the top 100 and closer to 200....bwahahahahaha
I've heard people talking about Grigor's hair but I haven't seen it because I have yet to see one of his matches in about two weeks now.
CoCo Vandeghwe's ranking is also going to have a severe drop as well.

Dimitrov now officially out of London, even he wins Paris and multiple players withdraw. Grisha will lose 1500 of his 3335 points in 11 days and will likely leave the top 20.

Yet Trump is still scheduled to go on one of his Dumpster dive rallies where he's likely ramble on about how each of these people sent it to themselves to spite him.
He didn't have to, someone said that someone on Fox Newschannel has proposed that Hillary sent the package to herself. I knew some right-winger would get around to doing this.

That's a very good point.
Also, I hope you feel better soon.
And yet has the know how to build multiple bombs without blowing himself up. Is it really so easy to do? I have to admit I don't know anything about it. I've heard the instructions are on the net, but does that mean any idiot can do it on this scale?
According to CNN, the devices were "rudimentary but functional", which makes me think that they were very basic in construction but they were capable of a good amount of destruction.

Who misspells Florida on the return address of a package?? Although frankly, I have an idea of the type of person who would do that.

Or some poor schmuck working in the mailroom at a media outlet. Those people are on the front line.
And sadly, a good portion of those mailroom people tend to be long-term temporary workers who don't even get the full and proper benefits of a permanent employee.

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo just announced during a live-streamed/televised PC that a device was sent to his Manhattan office and is being handled.

There must be a list out there.
New - additional target: Suspicious package at Wasserman-Schultz office was addressed to Eric Holder. The package was sent to Holder but had the wrong address and was returned to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in Florida because that was the return label on the package.
— Jim Sciutto (@jimsciutto) October 24, 20180 -
God, I knew someone connected with upper law enforcement would be targeted somehow. I was thinking of a former FBI official but I guess this is of the same intention.
All those documentaries I used to watch describing the chaos and political upheaval of years like 1968--this feels a little bit like what I imagined those years of turbulence and chaos felt like, on a more modest, slightly less violent level.
The package with an explosive device sent to CNN’s NY offices was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, CNN has learned. Brennan doesn't work for CNN. He's a contributor for MSNBC.

Now, if Brian Kemp were hopped up on meth and screwing a male prostitute as he tinkered personally with the voting machines....
Also, it doesn't affect white guys. Just gonna keep it real, right there.

Speaking of people in positions of prominence not doing their jobs, I keep wondering when a serious and earnest discussion of voter suppression will take place.

Are people going to act as if this is the worst it's ever been? This country has reports of children being bombed in churches during the 1960s. Back then, I wonder whether people could've ever conceived of a Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, I'm sparing a thought for the people who have to deliver the mail. Having a job with the Post Office used to be considered a good job with steady benefits but with all we have seen in the last decade or so, with how the USPS is languishing and then there is the inherent dangers of possible explosives being sent in the mail, those post office jobs don't look so great, after all.
I feel for the people who must deliver the mail. Surely, they're not being paid nearly enough to have to deal with this sort of thing.
