Also, 1989 is back up at number 2 on Billboard 200 charts. Definitely a "Bad Blood" boost there.

I honestly think she didn't promote "Style" as much because of her mom being diagnosed with cancer. She was probably spending as much time as she could with her before beginning her tour. That's my guess, anyway. Also, it should be noted that while the version "Bad Blood" released as a single is the version with Kendrick Lamar, I have heard the album version on the radio a few times recently. "Style" premiered on a Friday because it was Friday the 13th, and 13 is, of course, her lucky number. Except here, of course, since it's the only single so far not to go to number one. A lot of her fans seem to think "Wildest Dreams" will be the next single, but I'm still hoping she'll give "Clean" a chance.

Would any of you say "Vision of Love" is still well-remembered, since it was her first single/number one hit?

Glitter, along with the breakdown she seemed to have afterwards (stripping on TRL, for one), really did seem to signal that her career was dead. "We Belong Together" was not only her comeback single, it wound up being the song of the year in 2005, and the biggest hit of her career. Maybe it isn't still as big as it was a decade ago, but the fact that it (along with her album, The Emancipation of Mimi) launched her comeback is still a significant milestone in her career, even if mileage varies in how her career has gone since. That said, I really do think the main reason I remember that song in particular has to do with me being in high school at the time. I will say that I'm not a fan of "Infinity"--WTF on that line about Fritos? Really, Mimi? For the record, though, I'm neither a huge fan nor a huge detractor (hater sounds so mean ) of her work. I haven't heard anywhere near her entire discography, but I definitely have songs of hers that I like.

I've heard Hero several times on the radio recently. I can see how that song has lasted--the whole female empowerment theme; that song practically defines that genre. Actually, even though it holds the record charting number one on the Hot 100, I can honestly say I've never heard "One Sweet Day" in my life, and that song came up several times this year when it looked like "Uptown Funk" might break its record. "We Belong Together" is a song I remember from my junior year of high school, so I absolutely remember that. Some of the girls in my chorus class liked that song.

If nothing else, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" will stand as one of the modern Christmas classics. Was it a number one hit? No, but even 20 years later, people still remember it, because new Christmas songs don't become instant classics very often. This is one that did, and I'll admit that I love it.

Did you see the Instagram video she made about Austin graduating from Notre Dame on Sunday?

Not crazy about the video (then again, seeing Taylor look so good makes have to try to not want to starve myself sometimes--I have a pretty good figure, but I'm short with big boobs, not tall with long legs! She's my age, so her good looks/success gets to me more sometimes ), and I actually like the album version of the song better. To me, though, "Style" is by far the best single from 1989, so it's frustrating that, so far, it's had the least amount of success of those four singles. I will say that Katy has been very classy not to say/do anything back. Aside from her "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing" comment on Twitter last September, when that story first broke, she has kept quiet the whole time. I can't help but wonder if she's gained some sympathy among people, given the very public rumors that it's about her. I don't know, I like both of them, even though I also have issues with both of them. I'm Team Switzerland, really.

They've been friends ever since Taylor started following her on Twitter; she's a fan of Girls. She also wrote her song "You Are In Love" about Lena's relationship with Jack Antonoff; it's on the deluxe version of her album and I love it. I know what you mean, though--I do think she has talent, and I applaud for encouraging women to be feminists, but I definitely have some issues with her, even before the stuff with her sister came out. I'm kind of surprised Taylor's very public friendship with her hasn't hurt her popularity any, honestly. Interestingly enough, her supposed rival, Katy Perry (most likely the subject of "Bad Blood") is friends with Lena's Girls co-star, Allison Williams. Katy and John Mayer have double dated with Allison and her fiance (who is close friends with John) in the past.

I'll be honest, I wasn't that crazy about it. Maybe if it had been longer, it would have worked, but then I guess it wouldn't have been able to be on TV for time reasons. Also, I'm not crazy about there being a rap remix. The only reason it somewhat works for me is because it's Kendrick Lamar, who's actually good and of course, Taylor's favorite. No wonder he was the only guy in the video. Otherwise, I'm not really a fan of rap remixes at all. JMO, of course, though! The Internet is going crazy over she and Calvin showing that they are in fact a couple last night. And did you see Molly Ringwald with her when Simple Minds performed? I miss her red hair .

Make your own Bad Blood poster! No nicknames, but still fun: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ariellecalderon/cause-baby-now-weve-got-bad-blood-posters Cindy puts many of the supermodels who have come since her to shame. She's still the Queen, as far as I'm concerned.

Famous Footwear is having a contest with Keds shoes (which is one of Taylor's sponsors), where five people can win tickets to one of the 1989 World Tour concerts. I figured, why not, and decided to enter. The closest shows to me will be in DC in July, so maybe if I win I'll be able to go! It asked for your date of birth, so maybe being born in 1989 will give me an edge . ETA: I also entered a contest one of the DC radio stations is holding; they're giving away two tickets to one of her DC shows in July. Just figured I'd go for it .

Not surprised. There were rumors she shot the BB video recently, and a bunch of her celebrity friends are supposed to be in it, too.

Fuller House
For those of you who don't know, there is a blogger who had a website called Full House Reviewed, who reviewed/snarked on every single episode of the show. It took him 4 years before he finished last year. I would laugh my ass off every time I read it, and I'm someone who can still enjoy some of the show today (a lot of the show also makes me cringe now, though). He will be back to review/snark on Fuller House: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chi-full-house-satire-blogger-theres-more-20150421-story.html Here's the link to the original reviews. Trust me, for those of you who love a little Full House snark (so, almost all of you), you will NOT regret it. https://therealfullhousereviewed.wordpress.com/

You're right, they were. Granted, I was in elementary school, but you're right. I was there for the Spice Girls.

So Stephanie's an aspiring musician now? I smell a Girl Talk reunion! Where's Marla Sokoloff when you need her? This is so mid 90's I can barely stand it. LOVE.

I can see that, too. However, I guess they can get Ashley if Michelle has one of her fantasties where she's talking to conscience or something. ...No, no, forget I said that. I don't know if I can handle a scene like that anymore now that I'm old enough to vote. Never mind.

He really did distance himself from the show for a long, long while. I mean, that happens, people often soften towards the show that made them famous over time, but going all #getmoneybitch about it probably helps, too. Like I said before, I can see Mary-Kate and Ashley showing up for the first show, which is supposed to be a huge reunion of some sort, but they both retired from acting quite a few years ago, so it's their call. They've earned the right to shun show business forever if they want to.

Maybe it was Nelson and he left her with an inheritance Sorry, I just really liked her with Nelson (my Jason Marsden crush is eternal), and want to fanwank that they somehow wound up together.

If I had to take a guess, starting to focus so much on the youngest character of the show (who was literally a baby), and basically have a bunch of reaction shots of hers to what was going on around her, might have had something to do with it.

I'm not crazy about a lot of CCB's beliefs at ALL, but I can't help it, DJ was always one of my favorite characters (she and Stephanie). She also got a LOT of crap about her weight growing up, and although she briefly had bulimia early on in her marriage after moving away from her family for the first time (and her husband was away playing hockey), she otherwise was able to lose weight in a healthy way during the last two seasons of the show, and looks beautiful now. And at the very least, I think she's certainly a lot better at handling her beliefs than her hopeless older brother. Maybe she married Nelson! #agirlcandream I mean, Perfect Strangers, I guess, by virtue of not having any kids in the cast, had maybe a little more of an adult fanbase than most Miller-Boyett shows.

Absolutely. I'm more in the middle, though--LOVED it as a kid, but cringe quite a bit at the humor now. That said, the car in the kitchen episode and the episode where the cement truck winds up in the kitchen had some genuinely funny moments, so maybe the secret there is that the show just needed heavy machinery in a culinary atmosphere in order to be funny.
