  1. The first full credits list we get is Feb 24. Interstingly Michael Corbett isn't on contract. I found one piece that says he was only supposed to be on the show for three months. I wonder when he signed a contract? Am also looking forward to seeing when John Denos last appeared as Joe Blair and Todd Curtis first appeared as Skip, I believe it was around March, and it seems there is little gap between the two. Since Denos is still appearing in Feb. I wonder why he left or was replaced?
  2. That is so awesome, thank you for doing this
  3. @YRfan23 So I checked IMDB and they have Deborah Adair listed as subbing from ep #3477 (Nov 11 there Nov 13 on the German/French guides) up to #3482 (listed as Nov 18 on IMDB and Nov 20 on the German/French guides) IMDB seems to correct itself with #3486 which all line up as Nov 25 So yeah this is probably what the article was referring to. Though the article is still very wrong, haha. And Deb was on once in October. So I guess this was when Brenda was having issues. Either health or contract, lol
  4. At the same time though, back then soap press often took ages to announce cast changes, if they even bothered and accuracy wasn't their game, lol. So I take it all with a grain of salt and leave things tentative until we see for ourselves. That's why having these eps is so good for that reason Yeah it says the same on IMDB. He is listed as first appearing on November 17 (which is Nov 19 according to the French and German guides (they actually have cast list information on IMDB which includes non contract for each episode with synopsis) And it did prove me wrong Deb Adair is listed as Jill in November as well. I assume these are acurate and come from the German or French episodes, as the person has more info in the synopsis than the German and French guides. So the article is very wrong in that case, if indeed Corbett started on Nov 17 or 19 BD wasn't there but Deb Adair was.
  5. Not sure. Someone on IMDB has daily episode synopsis from 1986 (missing big chunks but most of the last few months is there). I may have missed it, but that last mention of David was as the Who Shot Jill story wrapped. Sven calls David to report Jill is missing or something. I will have a look. The dates are out a bit, but only by a couple days. I guess Michael could have subbed and then taken over the part? Brenda was only gone during Oct 86 when DA took over for one or at most two episodes.
  6. Not sure if he did, or if he just landed a job around the time they were thinking of recasting. Maybe he was given enough notice. Then again he may have seen the opportunity to be in a Madonna film (little did he know, haha) and jumped at the chance.
  7. Maybe that is true this is the article. I thought they mentioned a date, but don't. It is from Feb 28, 1987. I know Brenda was absent from Jan 15 - 28 1987
  8. I do wonder if they did announce it. AFAIK Drew Pilsbury last appeared around Sep/Oct 86 (He then went off to NYC to play a supporting role in the Madonna/Griffin Dunne bomb Who's That Girl? (which I actually love) That started production in late Sep/early Oct so I doubt Drew was on any later. Corbett it seems came on in Feb 87. That is a big gap and David wasn't a major role, so I wonder if they bother announcing it in that case. Maybe they always announce cast changes.
  9. Haha true Same and how much SOD actually synopsised as well. Also helps with certain character arrivals and exits. I assume Michael Corbett will be appearing soon as I had a newspaper clipping that said he was supposed to start in Jan, but BD went on vacation and it pushed his start date back. Jill heads out of town in Jan and gives Phillip her hotel suite while she is gone.
  10. Yeah it helps fill in gaps and give a good idea of what the show was. Even though I was watching at the time, I certainly don't remember everything.
  11. Thankyou. Yes it is great to have these. Even though I don't speak German, I get the gist. Being able to see them is fantastic. I had totally forgotten they even went on location for Ashley's breakdown. Seeing what stories were being focused on and who was appearing day to day etc... Thank you to you too. Just noticed that too 😀
  12. Yes!!!!! I was hoping and praying someone would do that ETA: Also thankyou to the anon person who is doing this, if they are on this forum
  13. Yes I absolutely agree. Too few interviews with him in general over the years he was writing Y&R. It is also rare to see him get fired up as he did when talking about the issue of date rape. He is usually so quiet and reserved.
  14. Thank you so much for this @YRfan23 Did Bill Bell say Jeanne joined Jan of 74???????? Did we just get confirmation. She talks over him though. Around 11:20 Also for those that are interested, the earliest airdate for this was Feb 28, 1990. Although Donahue was syndicated so it would have aired at different times throughout the US.
  15. So we actually get to hear Neil Fenmore on the phone before he dies. I wonder who played him. Did it sound like Jim Storm to anyone? I almost thought it was John McCook, but I am bad at tracking voices. Love Paul in his Miami Vice outfit, haha While I think Faren was a bit cutesy Andrews Sisters sometimes. I liked Coleen. I think she did a good job once Faren had to get into the drama and darker moments of the story more. Always interesting to see Brad and Lauren and then Brad and Traci. Don plays Brad as being better matched to Lauren and I still can't figure out if Brad was supposed to truly be in love with Traci, or if he was just using her as Jack believed. Maybe he loved her as a good friend and pushed that more due to what the relationship would bring him? I actually like that Bell did this with his characters, often made their motivations unclear. Thanks for the leading us to that classic ep @BoldRestless. Yes hopefully we get more this year.
  16. Oh yeah, now that you mention it 😄
  17. It would be interesting to know which actor was playing Derek when he contacts Kay. Caleb Stoddard apparently lasted three weeks and Jeff Cooper about the same. Maybe one of them called Kay and the other one went to her house, haha
  18. As a side note and somewhat related. I read through available synopsis and looked at the cast charts for the 69-70 "season" of DOOL. The entire period from Sep 69 - May 70 was focused almost entirely on Kitty and Bill. Kitty blackmailing Bill, her death, his trial and conviction and his jail time. With brief interludes of Julie/Scott/Susan, and I do mean brief, like once or twice a month initially until the Spring when that story got a bit more airtime. Every character seemed focused on and involved in the one story. The ratings on Wiki for that period (actually Sep 69 - Apr 70) show a 0.5 drop from the previous year and I wonder if the audience was too overwhelmed with seeing one story every day. Of course it could have been other factors too. I guess Bell may have decided to never to do that again. As you say it may have been clunky, avoiding having all characters drawn into the one story, but neccessary to keep the show from being weighed down too much by the one story.
  19. It does sound like very little crossover to be honest. It probably did occur much as you state with Stuart telling them Peg would find it too humiliating to go through it all with everyone there. Maybe they were all there once. I'm also wondering if a lot of Lorie and Leslie's interaction with Peg was off screen and simply mentioned as "Yes Lorie came by after she returned from San Francisco" or Lorie telling Lance "I've just been to see Peg" and so on. Leslie seems on the verge of another nervous breakdown through much of this time and Bell is almost hinting at the story going that way (though it doesn't), she also seems to be out of town a lot doing conerts as well. So she seems rather incapable of being there for anyone.
  20. That's what I imagined to be honest. The more vast sets seemed to have come through in the 80's.
  21. Thanks so much for putting up more synopsis, such a treat. Y&R is so dark and gloomy for the most part. No real fun or romance happening. Even the couples moving toward each other are tentative and have some sort of conflict. I wonder what it was like watching day to day. Derek would go through a recast during this time and it seems little story occurred. Jill is very quiet this month as a result. I find Brad's motivations odd. He is a doctor and a psychiatrist as well. He knows he could be self sufficient if he tried and would not be a burden to Leslie. I mean he has fooled everyone so far, no one questions his sight being an issue, so I am not sure why he thinks he can't get by without being a burden to Leslie. Though I guess Bill Bell might have delved deeper into his foolish ideas through Lorie. He is being stubborn and silly, which is realistic. No teen stories for the summer yet. When did that become a thing? Seems more so in the 80's I still can't get over how Ron would eventually ride off into the sunset with Nancy and Karen. He is so evil, especially considering what is to come. Would love to see Jeanne in Kay's daring swimsuit trying to seduce Ralph. I am also curious at to what that set would have looked like. The bigger more expansive sets seemed to be more common through the 80's, but maybe the show was already expanding its set design and had a bigger budget to work with. The rape trial would have needed quite a few extras I suppose.
  22. It was interesting seeing Jack at the beginning of that story. Still clean cut and determined to get to the bottom of things. Then a complete mess, given up hope and a drunk. I guess Bell was trying to maybe, somewhat redeem him for his past crimes against, well, so many people. Ellen and the homeless shelter and saving Jill certainly made him a sort of hero. Or at least not as much of a scoundrel
  23. Awesome, thanks so much for keeping an eye out on all these new uploads and sharing here.
  24. What an absolute blast that NYE 1985 episode was. Terry and Melody dancing was so much fun, I miss when soaps were like this. Thanks again for this and to the anon angel as well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone
  25. Thankyou @BoldRestless for these. I believe the Dec 89 ep we had before was interrupted by CBS News toward the end. So the re-broadcast will finally give us the ending of that episode. It is also great to have the NYE ep from 1985 which I have always wanted to see again.
