  1. Cathy: I may look like a dead girl...but i'm my own woman!

Anne: People say money can't buy you happiness....i'm still trying to prove them wrong!

Claudia: My life might have it's ups and down...but i always end up on top.

Pat: Everyone has secrets...my family comes first!

  2. Real Housewife of Knots Landing.

    introduction taglines

Valene: Poor Val is dead...i'm in charge now!

Karen: I'm not just the neighbor on the block...I am the block!

Abby: Don't hate me because i'm beautiful...hate me because i win!

Laura: I was a downtrodden housewife....but now kick ass and take names later!

Paige: I'm no housewife....but i will get everything i want!

  3. Abby was not just a "bitch," she had layers and ambiguities, and this episode was one of the best examples of that.

Yea, Abby was never just a villian. There are several examples of her good deeds. She gave her kidney to Diana. she covered for Olivia when she thought Olivia killed Peter Hollister. She was even friendly to Valene occasionally...like when everyone thought Valene tried to kill herself (When it was really Jill.) and she seemed genuinely sad when she told Gary that Bobby was dead (of course it was a dallas dream.)

Of course on the other hand she did more sneaky and selfish things than i can even think of . Nine seasons is a long time. All the stuff she did to Gary with Appolune. Siding with Greg to keep Meg away from Karen and Mac. stealing Lotus Point with the dummy corperation. Knowing that Valene's babies were alive and never said anything until she could be the big hero and bring Valene to the destination point. Burying Pete Holister(without getting dirty LOL) Being apart of that stolen parts deal that lead to Sid's death. So many things...

  4. True, but who knows? Her story could have fizzled out the same way Gerry Anthony and Brynn Thayer's (to name a few from that era) did.

And we never would have gotten those great seasons of Who's the Boss. I thought she did a great job as Angela. Especially when she got drunk and wild. Of course my fave was Mona but i thought they had good chemestry together.

I just wonder if she would have stayed (and they kept giving her storylines...big if), would they have repaird her with Larry again. anfdif they did, would have make them an interesting couple or just put them to the background. He talent could have been wasted to just one liners as Larry's wife for a few more years before they just dropped her.

Another thing, maybe they would have had Karen be Viki's confident during her 1985 Niki story. Lord knows they were a lot closer than Viki and Jenny were until Karen left and they pushed Viki and Jenny's friendship.

  5. I remember reading a quote where Judith Light said that she had never wanted to do either soaps or sitcoms. Of course, that's where she made her name!!! LOL

She also said it on The View (for the One Life final). She said she told herself she would never do a sitcom or a soap. Like Erika Slezak, she was a theater actress. but then when One Life to LIve came around, her agent reminded her she had no job and very little money so "shut up and take it." LOL Then she came on the show, saw how hard everyone worked and realized she was wrong about snubing them. Then it was her husband (Gary from Cheers) who told her to go to L.A. and audition for Who's the Boss. She was perfectly willing to stay comfortble on the soap but he pushed her to take a chance.

She looks so different now on Dallas. I don't know if she wears a wig but it makes her look a lot older. When she was on The View for the final, she looked good.

  6. And to this day im probably the only tom ryan fan out there. Joseph gian stands as my first KL crush.

No, I was a fan of Joey Gian too. I don't know if you watched Beverly Hills 90210 but he also played Valene's married lover on the show for a few episodes.

  7. I'm actually waiting for Orange County. I don't know how good it's going to be since half the cast is gone but we still have Vicki, Heather and Tamera. I think there is two or three new girls. I don't know why Alexis, Gretchen and Lydia left. I never really warmed up to Lydia and Maybe Gretchen just used up all her usefulness. Now i have to wonder if we'll see Slade with another housewife in a few seasons. LOL

I just hope that Vicki's son in-law doesn't get much airtime because i was so over him last season. I think at the end of the season we heard he and Brianna moved out so maybe we won't see them as much. I know Brianna is pregnant again with a boy.

  8. I have all the seasons on DVD. It took me forever because i needed to get good prices for them but i finally did it. I thought it was a good

show. I remember first hearing about it and looking forward to it. I thught it was great and sexy. I even got to like the lesbians...some. I know the show got a little darker in the later years but i still thought it was great.

I'm someone who wanted to be Bryan (all the one night stands he had with "mostly" hot guys!) but was/is probably more like a Ted with a bit of Emmit comming out on my good days.

    Love Robert Grant.

  9. Ha, I post that clip whenever we do a thread about favorite sets. Carlotta was referred to off-screen for so long that many assumed PM was the first time we'd seen the character, forgetting this actress.

If you remember....she wasn't called Carlotta Vega back then. I can't spell the last name but it sounded like "fellandace." I don't think the last name was used much. I only know it from a scene when Dorian was giving character witnesses to Nora. I guess when they decided to flesh out Carlotta, they decided to give her the simple to spell name of Vega.

  10. I watched WWHL too and i thought Tom should have prepared what he was going to say before he got on the phone. it was difficult to listen to because he's not the best talker. it made the whole thing even more uncomfortble to watch. I do love Lisa!

Even though i watch the season occasionally, i do love the finals with the photo shoot. I still hope that Tom Schwartz becomes a part of the gang more...maybe get a job as sur. I know he tried but he could try again. I would love to see more of him and less of Jax.

  11. I don't think we really know the whole story. We just know her side. If they already had Sondra Santiago on "back burner" right after it happend (as she claims) then things have been brewing before this little incident.

  12. I think the christian talk (which it's turning into) can be it's own thread...not here. I know it started about Pat and I think she was wrong. Not for how she thinks, but for not playing the part as written. Erika Slezak has always said, "I don't write this. I'm an actress." Erika did many stories she didn't beleive in (like being hypnotised to kill Kevin.) Even Clint Ritchie did the story about homophobia that he didn't like (he didn't like the way his character was written against what he used to be) but they were professionals and they did their job like they were paid to do.

This also reminds me a little of Dixie Carter on Designing Women. She was a republican but Julia was a "loud mouth" democrat who would go off on these rants. so she ended up making a deal with the producers that she would do it if they would let her sing a song in the next episode (or one down the line)

  13. What would you say were the best eras, or golden eras, of OLTL? I suggest four:

1977-1980 (Gordon Russell at his peak)

1985-1989 (people who hate what Rauch did I think generally refer to 1990-91, and I blame writers like Craig Carlson and Leah Laiman more than him, but I suppose some might change this to 1985-1988)

1992-early 1996 (second half of '96 was wretched)

    2008-2010

I would say 1985-1989 because it was really the first time they really started giving Erika Slezak's good big storylines. the Niki SMith one of 1985-86, the heaven story in 1987, Miss Ginny in 1988, finding Megan 89.

  14. Yes i agree that it was not edgy enough and every time it looked like a sex scene, they cut. Do they know they are on HBO? Of course it's only the first episode but i was disapointed. I know HBO is much more PG that Showtime (Queer as Folk...Masters of Sex) or Cinnemax (soft core porn movies almost every night ) but I hope it gets a little better. Even Sex and the City had semi-good sex scenes.

They need to take it up a notch or this show isn't going to be going on for very long. Time will tell....

  15. More of the Viki/Clint/roger story posted. They took a lot of elements of this story and put it in the Sloan story. I think it's more plausable for Viki to leave Clint for Roger because they shared a love, a child and a unique past. Sloan they just kind of threw together with Viki and made him indespensible to her. but of course the whole Sloan thing was only suposed to be an affair until Clint Ritchie got in an accident and they needed something for Viki to do so they explored the Viki and Sloan relationship. By the time Clint came back, Viki and Sloan were secretly engaged and ready to move on.

  16. I don't know where else to put this but the original Law and Order is now airing on Sundance channel and it went back to the first season 1990 episodes. I know another channel had started it on New Years Day but when i looked at the schedule, It started in like the sixth season. This is the original first season with Chris North.

  17. I've always wondered how Louise Sorel might have worked out if she hadn't had that falling out with Paul Rauch.

She never would have gone on to big fame on Days as villian Vivian. She probably would have stayed on OLTL a few more years as a DA and love interest for Herb and then left and gone into "Soap heaven" where so many soap characters have gone over the years...never to be heard from again. At least as Vivian, she's come back to cause more chaos and they can continue to bring her back.

  18. I will always wish for a new year of "Christmas in Llanview." I thought for sure this year we would get it.

All those happy Christmas memories at Llanfair where everyone came over and Viki or Clint gave a toast with a fire in the fireplace. Everything was so warm and cozy whenever everyone came to Llanfair. I've seen on Youtube...even going back to the early 80's, everyone would come to Llanfair on Christmas Eve. I think a couple of times they went to Asa's. even after Viki and Clint divorced, they seemed to always be together to welcome family and friends for Christmas (When Clint was in town.) and there were a couple of great Christmases with Sloan and Ben...and even Charlie (my least favorite of Viki's husbands).

I also liked the crazyness at Labolie. Like when Addie came back all sane after being instutionlized for decades. or when Echo Desavoy fell down the chimmney in the santa suit. or the one where Dorian was all alone but Rex was able to get Adrianne to come over at the very last minute. or even an early one when she and David Vickers found out that Todd was Viki's brother...it happend on Christmas Eve.

  19. Awwww Cristian#1!!! My 10 year old self was too mad when he was replaced with David fumero.

you had a right to be. I think he's an OK actor now but back then i beleive they only hired him for his body. He was not the best actor in the world (Boy what a list we could make of actors who were only hired for their bodies...just on OLTL alone! No to mention every other soap!)

  20. I hpoe they don't continue with this new theme for the reunion shows...behind the scenes. I think it's just cutting more time away from the actual show. to me, most of it was a waste of time.

I wonder why New York wasn't on this year. They decided to air another season of Beverly Hills instead. Not that i'm complaining, i love my Lisa Vandepump. I don't know if i like either of the new housewives yet. Carlton reminds me a little of Danielle Stubbs (NJ). I hope this doesn't turn into the whole cast against her like it did with Danielle.

in Miami, Lea looked so pretty in that blue sparkly dress. She always looks good at the reunions.
