This was one of the better storylines of Erin's final years. I love the bareness of barerfoot story.

It still sickens me to know what happend to Jessica years later when Bree took over.Erin's jessica lived a pretty good life as Viki's daughter. She had problems (like this one) but she survived them without turning into a different personality every other year. I heard Erin saw what was ahead for Jessica and decided to get out before things went too crazy. Wery smart. I liked Bree when she was playing Normal Jessica but the alters...expecially when several of them came out at the end, i didn't like at all. Not the jessica I grew up with.

  2. There are a few pictures of Gillian as Viki (and Niki) in the OLTL 30th anniversary coffee table book by Gary Warner.

Yea I have that. and there were also a couple of pictures of her in the One Life magazine that came out when the show was canceled. I guess i have everything that's been around recently.I just thought maybe someone had very old magazines or whatever.

it's hard finding "new to me" ones when i've been a Viki "historian" for the past 20 years.

  3. Yeah, I did know about the Llanview/Lanford connection. I wonder why Roseanne never popped up on OLTL, as the "Buchanan men" had appeared on her show.

I heard she had plans to do it but something happend with scheduling or whatever. She ended up doing General Hospital. Remember she also had Luke and Laura on her show. I guess she loved both shows.

  4. I remember thinking Rafe had wanted housewife in Delila every time I watched some late 80s clips or read recaps. Wasn't Delila origiy a schemer? Too bad they didn't do more with them with her yearning to be a singer in night clubs. I think she did continue singing though.

Was there anyone else they could have paired Rafe with after she left in 1989?

I liked Rafe. he was good looking and had a unique voice. Like so many soap characters, they wasted his acting tallent, except when Samantha died. He could have become the "Ned Ashton Gate Keeper" of the Buchanan family but they didn't.

Yes Delilah was originally a schemer. She was first introduced when Viki went to prison for not revealing her source and that's how she met Delilah. I don't think she was a prostitue but i know she has an affair with Brad Vernon. then she got mixed up in the whole Asa/Bo triangle. Once Bo divorced her, she really tried to scheme to get him back. When she found out (by scheming) that he was working at the Lord Manning plant as Bill Brady, she disguised herself to get a job there to be closer to him. of course it all failed because that's where he met Didi.

They could have paired Rafe with anybody and it would have been a pretty good match. I could see him and Brenda Mcgillis (I beleive she was with Michael Grande or Dan Wolek at the time.) There were a lot of beutiful blonde women at that time they he could have paired with. He could have taken a go at Tina during one of her breakups with Cord or Sarah Gordon before she married Bo. Or even Megan when she was inbetween Max and Jake. I don't know, i just see him with a blonde I always thought he and Samantha were a better looking couple than he and Delilah. Now that Delilah wasn't good looking.

  5. The link below says Lizzie got into a huge argument with Tamra and left the set refusing to take pics with Andy and the other girls

    http://allthingsrh.com/exclusive-details-rhoc-season-9-reunion/

I think she sealed her fate for next season. And she's not that connected to the girls anyway to even be "a friend of" like Kathy Wakilie is on Jersey this season. No big loss to me.

Maybe the Bangs will look better on camera. I thought Tamra looked good with her bangs...for that one scene she had them in. some people can pull off bangs, some can't. some people look awful without bangs.

I loved the new Jersey taglines. Although i was suprised that both Teressa and the sister were pushed into one tag line. I don't know if it's ever happend in housewife history before.

I wonder how close Joe and Melissa's house is going to be to Caroline Manzo. I know she lived in Franklyn Lakes. I don't remember if Jaclyn did or not.

  6. The whole Leg thing just reminds me of the Friends episode where Joey told the gang about what he did to the girl with the fake leg he was dating. They were cozying up by the fire and then it was dark when he awoke to see the fire was dimming so he just threw the first peice of "wood" he could find on it. Later he realized it was her fake leg! LOL

  7. I can't wait to see how everyone is dressed at the New York reunion. I also hear O.C.'s reunion will be taped in a week or two. Personally i think Andy should try going live again. I think he did it once at one of the reunions and it failed but it could be fun to try again.

If you could pick a new "Real Housewives" where would you want it. Palm Beach would be fun because i know there is a part of there (maybe west) where a lot of wealthy people go. it's where the men sit back and the women run things during "the season" of charity balls and other fundrasiers. I read a book and saw a documentary about it. there is a lot of drama and scandal going on there.

  8. I think that this ranks up there with Scary Island (NY), Fight Night (ATL), and Dinner Party from Hell (BH) as one of the best group knockdown drag outs.

I don't know i still say the prostitution whore dinner (NJ) was my favorite but this was pretty good too. Shannon was at a very bad place and she just hit her breaking point.

Did you see Tamra on WWHL....I think she did more than just get fillers in her face. I think she looks more different than Vicki did when she "revealed" her new face at the beging of last season. Maybe it was still healing but i don't like it.

  9. I was looking forward to a new opening theme (taglines) but i guess they are waiting till next week. This week was just to introduce and reintroduce the ladies.

I just wish the new Teressa would spell her name differently. I know it's pronounced different but a little confusing when reading the guide. Glad Dina's back. I don't know much about the new people. I think the twins might be interesting. and in the previews Melissa and Joe will be running a garbage truck...i have no words!

i don't know how i feel about Teressa and Joe's troubles. I never liked Joe and nobody can convince me that he's innocent. kind of reminds me of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker (and also with Teressa is wearing more make-up every season... LOL). I think Teressa like Tammy was just not intuned to what their husband's were doing. Teressa loved spending money. we saw that in the first season when she was droping cold cash at every boutique in Jersey. I think Joe kept her in the dark for a long while (he's not the best conversationalist.)

  10. I can't beleive i'm defending Elizabeth because i'm not her biggest fan (far from it), but i think everything she said was true. She had the same feelings i did (which is a scary thought.)

  11. Rosie is a bad idea for any permanent job on a talk show. She starts out as sharp and fun and becomes a black hole of bitterness and unresolved childhood baggage.

I could not have said that better myself. She messed up her own show in the 1990's and then came on the View and messed it up once aready. First i love Barbara Walters but clearly she is so out of touch with the show, she doesn't care what happens to it. I bet this will be Whoopie's last season. Somone once said, "Rosie doesn't sit on the bus...she's a bus driver!" She won't be content for long to just sit back and let Whoopie moderate. She'll be getting into feuds with celebrities and even her own co-hosts before long.

"people who don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them." Someone should explain that to Barbara. but like i said, she obviously doesn't care about the quality of the show anymore.

  12. I don't know if anyone's posted this but they are showing early episodes of New jersey this week. Only a select few but monday should show the first few episodes and then tuesday is the imfamous table flip and season 1 reunion followed by a couple from season two. If anyone is interested, they will be showing episodes from the first few seasons all week and probably next week...getting ready for the July 13th new season.

  13. For me the show lost something when Jeanne Cooper passed. For a long whgile, i would tune in just to see wqhat she was up to. and i've watched many of her stories from her fights with Jill in the late 1990's to her relationship with Murphy and Tucker. The show isn't bad now but it's just not the same without her.

  14. I do kind of agree that both Jenny and Sherri are too alike. they both think they are young and trendy. They both had slightly disabled children. I assume they are both democrat although i know Sherri changes her mind on a dailey basis because politics is a little too over her head (She'd rather talk about Dancing with the stars of real housewives of whatever all day.) Although i'd take Sherri any day over that loud mouth Sheryl Underwood from The Talk.

It would be nice to find two unknowns who are very different to join the show. Like someone said, it was originally a show about four women with different backgrounds idea's and views. Merridith the working mother, Star the attorney, Debbie the young one and Joy the comedian. and then Barbara the veteran.

I hope it does but if someone good doesn't come on next season, I can see the raitings tank! Barbara was the only reason the show lasted so long. She may have her haters (especially on this board) but she was good for the show and she's the only reason it survived 17 seasons. Lord knows it wasn't because of Star, Rosie or Whoopie(Although i do like Whoopie and her old movies).

  15. I know Barbara wants a man....on the show. I don't know if it would happen but i wouldn't mind it. I hope it's not Mario Cantone. I like him but it spurtz. I could not see him being on every day. That voice! Although i woudn't mind a gay man like Thomas Roberts

For a straight man my choice is always Rob Lowe. I wouldn't be suprised if it was Cameron Mattherson, he seems to be poping up everywhere and he's a total "A-kisser."

I don't think any of the old people should come back. They've had their chance. Let someone else give it a shot. I know Barbara hinted that she did ask Monica Lewinski. She was on David Lettermen's show and was very vauge about it. That would be interesting.

  16. I liked Rosie for a while during her 1990's show. She had great soap opera guests (something talk shows rarely did at the time and most still lack IMO.) But even back then you could see the veneer cracking. I was happy when she left the show and then when Barbara welcomed her publicly at the emmy's, I hated it but i figured i would give it a shot. it was a nightmare season. then years later she had the show on OWN and it was OK but it was canceled pretty quickly. I hope Barbara doesn't make the same mistake twice. I don't think Bill Geddie would continue with the show if Barbara did let Rosie come back full time. I heard he threatend to quit while she was on the first time.

I am looking forward to the new season to see who comes on. If I lie them , i'll continue watching it. if not, i won't. Without Barbara, it's pretty simple. I did love that second to last show much better than the last. Hillary Clinton kind of bored me a little bit. I also loved the Friday episode with Bette Midler. That was fun.

  17. For one, thing, Walters appears to resort (whether as a device or a fallback) to playing both ends against the middle. At one point, she will proudly assert her power as Co-Executive Producer and all that it entails but when sh*t hits the fan, she'll gladly push Bill Gedde to the fore and claim that he and/or ABC came up with the idea as if she doesn't have a say and is just one of the Talent.rolleyes.gif

Take the Rosie/Starr debacle. Starr acted out yes, but had Barbara been more forthcoming about her decision (not just Bill Geddes' or ABC's) to bring on Rosie O'Donnell, perhaps Starr might not have felt that she had to fire parting shots on her way out with no notice. Barbara knew the tension between between the two women ever since the Pilates/Lap Band surgery incident and instead of just telling Starr upfront that she made an Executive Decision, along with Gedde & ABC and they wanted to spice up the show and probably felt that the show would benefit because of that tension (because hey, that's 'show business'), they sprung it on her and Barbara didn't want to 'dirty' her hands, leaving it in Bill Gedde's and the network's hands.

Starr wasn't buying it and put Barbara on blast. Was it a classy move on Starr's part? No. Do I blame Starr? No. Unlike the selection of Elizabeth Hasselbeck where all of the cast felt like they were in on the selection process and it was out in the open, the Rosie thing was done behind the scenes. I wouldn't be surprised if Starr was informed just before the news hit the trades.

The other incident, ironically, involved the split screen argument between Rosie and Elizabeth. After that episode, Rosie called Barbara a hypocrite because she felt as though she'd been 'set up'. I think Rosie, having had her own TV show, knows when things are planned out for the ratings. Barbara acted the innocent as if the topics are not discussed beforehand and which ones are picked knowing they'd be the incendiary ones, guaranteed to inspire the most 'heat' in discussion. Had Barbara just told Rosie 'Look kid, it's nothing personal, it's just good ratings', Rosie wouldn't have liked it but she probably would've calmed down quicker. But again, Barbara acted as if she was powerless and the decision was totally out of her hands.

    Just kind of duplicitous, IMO.

As a Journalist/personality, I can respect what she's achieved but I actually might admire her if she wasn't always orchestrating opportunities to laud her own personal achievements. I wouldn't be surprised if she had some part in planning They Year of Barbara. Not every detail but just enough to make sure that the proper adoration is paid. Meanwhile she acts coy and pretends it was all a surprise.

I disagree with you on both counts. First Star. Barbara told Star that ABC/View was not going to renew her contract a while before she announced Rosie as the new co-host. What Barbara did after telling Star about her contract is inmaterial. They had a date set so Star could make her announcement and they would give her a big send off (like they did with Merridith.) Star made her own plans and look how great it turned out. Every show she's been on since The View has failed.

God i hate talking about Rosie because i think deep down she's classless. She can pretend to be great and she did it for many years on her show but behind that veneer, she's a mess. Anyway, that day with Elizabeth, Barbara was out on a cruise ship with judge judy. It was a live show. She didn't know how heated the topic was going to get. they had been talking about the war for a long time. Rosie and Elizabeth both just got out of control (Elizabeth should take just as much blame as Rosie.) I do not beleive Barbara had anything to do with what happend because she wasn't even around and it was live. I don't know who did the split screen but I don't see the big hoopla about it. They should do it more often so they don't hop from one to the other.

  18. I remember tuning in when that story happened - suddenly innocent Jessica, who was about my age was slugging back some liquor and having a bad day. I was shocked, but intrigued, because I knew that happened IRL with kids I knew and I was shocked the soap was "going there" with little Jessica.

I didn't care about Will or how it played out - in fact, I grew to despise Will Rappaport - but I thought the story itself, Jessica gets drunk, wastes her first time with the wrong guy, gets pregnant, etc. was all valid, real stuff.

In a way i think it's good it happend the way it did. I think if she did have the baby, I bet you it would be like they do with all soap children, they have the baby and then she's handed to the nanny and you only see them a few times a year before they are SORAS'd. Just like they did with Jessica's Bree Brennen

Although i think Viki just "suing" Dorian was stupid. It seemed Viki got over it awfully fast just because Dorian was being stalked. I know they had words when Dorian was in prison but it just ended too quickly for me. Just a few years eariler Viki and Dorian got into a bad slapping fight for a crime Dorian "commited" 18 years eariler. I know what Dorian did (to Jessica) was an accident but she walked away from the crime and then let Lindsey Rappaport be accused of the crime.

  19. I think KL initially hired the adults' on-screen kids based solely on how cute they were before they hit puberty. The one that fare the best was Tonya Crowe but at one point the show should have recast the parts of eric and Michael (even though i though he was really cute) to provide them with longetivity potential.

The eric vs Michael feud could have driven thek show for years and Linda was probably the one thing that made the Fairgate boys interesting.

I thought they did a good job recasting Brian with Brian Austin Greene. I know he wasn't on much but he was apart of Olivia's drug story where he got beat up. He also got to be in the final scene with Donna. I don't remember who the original Brian was but i don't think he said much.

  20. I think i want to change Karen's "tagline"

Karen: I don't want to see the world through rose colored glasses...i want the world to be rose colored. (Since she already said it, i think it fits her better."

Ginger: My husband may be a cheater but i'm a one man woman.
