The first season can be amazing though, especially if you have seen/read "I Claudius", which Dynasty was partially based upon. Granted all of the oil crap with Matthew/Walter is incredibly boring but the Carrington family drama is at its best and most realistic in season 1. The pace is painstakingly slow but it's a 13 episode, complete arc, maybe one of the best arcs in network tv history.
That said upping the ante in season 2 was great as well and season 2 stands out as an amazing season in television history. But it would have been interesting to see the season 1 trajectory play out, still gutting Walter, Matthew, and Lindsay. There is something incredibly and unmatchably glam about the understated glamness of season 1.
I haven't seen it in 5/6 years but I don't think my opinion would change.
Pretty Accurate. The Carrington stuff was amazing but the other stuff was bland IMO. It didn't seem to go anywhere.

Fallon is brilliant in season one. For me, Dynasty is only good seasons 1-2 & 9. Right now I've been re-watching the series and it has been a chore to get through. I'm currently stuck somewhere in season six, but I haven't watched in two months. I decided to watch The Colbys, which actually was MUCH better than Dynasty was at that point. Both seasons were good, but season two you can see a huge improvement.
Ya, the first season is pretty painful IMO. I think it started out WAY to slow. Also, the poor family really didn't fit in. It is funny how Dallas was original going to be about lifestyle then became all about Ewing Oil then dynasty was going to be about business then it became more about lifestyle. KL is the best. I love Abby!!!

Ron and Frank don't always do humor right.
But when they do, it sometimes involves amateur porn. (Embedding disabled, sadly.)

Ready to commence?
Still one of the funniest moments on OLTL for me. I just can't believe they didn't run Nate off the show on a rail immediately after this. Thankfully Grandpa is gone.
OMG! That episode is from WFAA Channel 8! That is the station in Dallas/Fort Worth were I live!!!!!!!
Oh, I thought that was funny!

I don't now a lot about Megan's 1998 run. Can someone tell me what went on??

What month was Janet introduced? I would like to try to find her first episode.

Like what?
Janet's mirror truck?
Sometimes you all think of me as Janet so when you commented on the mirror I asked "Do you like it" as a joke.

Frons, dear.
Oh, and Janet's truck had a mirror on the outside. LOL
Do you like it?

New York, like Loving. And don't forget Angie was on Loving (AMC of course had some major cross over stunts in '91 and '92 as well with Loving to try to spike ratings--it didn't work but that's how I started watching.)
I don't think many people "couldn't stand" Loving, and that as part of the problem. Many people were apathetic towards it, or simply didn't watch. The City didn't get many new viewers, that's one reason, another is it still had Loving's crappy time slot, it also was given very little time to grow, and it didn't get good ratings--and was expensive.
BTW who is this Fronz you think I am? Like The Fonz? I'm confused.
Brian Fronz.....

We've all been thinking you're Brenda Dickson in disguise.
Seriously?? Did you see those videos I made of myself on the AMC thread on the DTS Board??

Sorry guys, when looking for Heartbreak High videos for the Loving/City thread, I stumbled across that (Vince P was a star from HH just like Corey Paige who was hired around the same time for The City.) While Broderick's era in the 90s was a mixed bag (although personally it's nonetheless one of my fave eras,) this story really was IMHO the nadir. Funny, it largely feels like something that would have fit McTavish's sensationalistic late 90s run--it has so many of the Hallmarks... Like bringing on a new character who is instantly disliked and who is written into such a plot driven hole that they have no way to return (to be fair, I guess Tanner perhaps was brought on with a short term goal and they never hoped to redeem him, but...), a he said/she said rape scenario which doesn't even have any intrigue because we know already who's in the wrong, etc.
Ripa did have moments where she really raised to the challenge. Yeah they were few (especially in her last few years,) but...
You like Loving yet nobody else likes it and you like this story yet everyone clearly distastes it. I am begining to wonder about you, EricMontreal33. I think you are Fronz in Disguise!

Yeah that was a bad spring for AMC relatively speaking--at least soon the Kevin story sparked back up. I remember at the time, just as The City was starting to be very good (or at the least very solid) it was depressing because AMC was in a bit of a rut, and OLTL--I believe just before the Labines came on-- was an utter mess (I wasn't watching GH at the time at all...) So I was actually enjoying The City the best but its cancelation was already announced. (I also remember that all ABC's ratings were slipping *except* The City which was actually, for once, having admittedly tiny climbs each week.)
Why was The City canceled? A lot of people couldn't stand Loving but many people loved The City. What is cool about the city is that they had core people from AMC/GH was there any OLTL people there? Were was it filmed BTW?

February 1974 TV Radio Mirror
Wow the cast looks small compared to the later years!
Can someone tell me who the actors/characters are on the Top??

Thanks. I have a number of these and never post them because I'm never sure if anyone is interested in radio soaps beyond the core one or two (like Right to Happiness). I decided to go ahead and post a few, in case an asteroid hits tomorrow, or whatever. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
I love radio soaps. I have seen 1 or 2 articles on Irna you posted in the past and I love hearing about her.

I don't know a lot of SFT. I keep hearing on the boards "Soaps shouldn't rely on one character driving a show!! Did we learn anything from SFT??". I am not sure what that means.
