  1. I get where she's coming from, but I feel that most of the things she wanted to see in the last hour were covered, intentionally or unintentionally, over the last year. Through all of the silliness, there was a definite sense of culmination in those final months. Of course, I wanted to see a nice long nostalgia fest at the end, but "a full hour of montages" of clips that were already shown for the 20th anniversary, 25th anniversary, 30th anniversary, 35th anniversary, 40th anniversary, Mona's funeral, Phoebe's funeral, Myrtle's funeral, Palmer's funeral, and any of the other tons of episodes that relied heavily on flashbacks (including several in the last year) wouldn't have been very effective, IMO.

That's one thing I have been complaining about. Every anniversary they show the same flashbacks! I wish they showed more variety after the 25th year because it became predictable on what they where going to show. They could have at least shown different flashbacks of the same story lines they are trying to showcase. I wish they showed flashbacks of "Raising Kane", "Chicken Shack", Tara/Phill, Kitty (or Kelly)/Linc. I know they have them. Didn't Agnes sell AMC to ABC in 1975 only if ABC agreed to to keep Master copy's of the episodes from 75' onward?? If so they could have shown Brooke finding her real mom in the homeless shelter, Phoebe meeting Myrtle for the first time to break up Linc and Kitty (or was it Kelly), then show a montage of footage of the Linc/Kitty (or Kelly) romance from that point onward?? They could have shown montages like that for all the Anniversaries after the 25th instead of repeating the same ones over again.

Oh, they could have shown the the clip when Ruth found out Phil died and even footage of Anne/Paul!!

  2. Omg, now I'm at the Free Erica Rally. This is TOO MUCH. B5 just showed up out of nowhere and started dancing, singing & rapping outside for Erica. LOLZ. I didn't realize this was how the story went, it was a bust laugh.pnglaugh.png

I did love "THIS IS AMERICA, FREEDOM FOR ERICA!!"

I think that was one of the first episodes I have ever watched! Can you put it on YT??

  3. OMG! I just watched the episode where Annie tripped over one of Emma's toys & popped her head over a stair railing at Ryan's penthouse, leaving a nasty gash on her forehead. Now I know what really caused her to snap! This bitch told Ryan (who arrived seconds later) that a man broke in & attacked her. LOL

I thought you liked Annie! I can not ever not like Annie. I have always been a sucker for the crazies. Everyone I attract is off-the-beam one way or another. I think I am going a Little cray cray myself!!

  4. AMC was the only soap that always felt like home to me, too. So I know exactly what you mean.

I'm not expecting anything on TV, but I think eventually either ABC or another company similar to Soap Classics will put out DVDs and probably have Agnes or Lorraine explain their original ending and include anything they taped for the finale that didn't air.

Someday, I hope, they will shoot the original ending to the series. They probably just need to tweak it by taking babe and JR out and adding Stuart.

  5. I'm not sure, but I think she must have had a stand in for the long shots. Regardless, Heaven was the best two weeks of OLTL ever! After seeing that clip, I wanna go watch more! LOL!

what I mean is 80s Nickie looks nothing like Erika Slezaks's Vicki. With that flaming red hair and everything. Her hair doesn't even look like it is a Whig. Her voice is different as well.

Here is a better example of what I am talking about:

  6. LOL! OK, let me see if I can recall this.....Tony Lord returned to Llanview in late 1981 and he brought an associate, Georgina Whitman (originally played by Ilene Kristen!) with him. Tony had discovered that there was an alternate fuel source under Llanfair and he came back to Llanview to mine it. It was called Solaramite. Bo became Tony's partner, and because it was such of a dud of a nowhere storyline, I really can't remember what it was all about. There was something about Tony and Bo testing Solaramite in race cars filmed on location and there were bad guys who wanted the Solaramite...and...and....zzzzzzzz.

That sound like the same plot of GH's Ice Princess. On GH, the ice princess was a diamond that held a formula that could freeze the world and everyone wanted it for there own use.

  7. Bo, a Viet Nam vet, went there to read the wall of names while he was in DC to get government approval to produce.....uh....Solaromite. Don't ask. tongue.png

What happened?? You just placed the old pink elephant in my room. I can't sit still until I know what you are talking about!!!!!

  8. I recently watched "The Possesion". I liked it for the story but it did not scare me. Most of the scare tactics where directly copied from either "The Omen" and "The Exorcist", which I have seen more times then I can couldn't by not enough times for me to get board.

What I am listening to is what my entire generation should Listen to.

    DISCO!!

I can not stand the music the people in my age group listen to but on the flip side I don't think any of them would give DISCO a second thought.

I just decided to play something a little different:

  9. I prefer films from the late 1930s through the 1940s. I know it was the studio era and actors were treated like cattle and whatever, but those movies had story, tension, romance, drama and laughs. The movies nowadays are mostly trash.

I especially love "Women's Pictures" from this time (something that sadly went out of vogue a long, long time ago). Nearly anything with Bette Davis (The Old Maid, Dark Victory, In this Our Life, Little Foxes, NOW, VOYAGER (perhaps my favorite film), Beyond the Forest, A Double Life, and The Man Who Came to Dinner - are all fabulous highlights). Joan Fontaine (A Letter from an Unknown Woman - one of the most heartbreaking films ever) and her sister Olivia de Havilland are two more favorites of mine. One can't go wrong with Joan Crawford either (Mildred Pierce is must see melodrama and Humoresque is glorious too!)

I never really like Katherine Hepburn, however.

I hate going to movies. Every actor/actress are carbon copies of one another and there is just no depth in the story telling. Also, actors back then where more diverse acting wise. Not just talking about Acting/singing/dancing. I am saying they also had more range and ability. I wish movie musicles would come back besides that is what I grew up with.

One thing I love about silent movies is you watch these giant scenes and there was no FX then, they literally had to build these ancient cities and use hundreds of extras. That was when Hollywood was at its zenith and the studios were making magic.

That is why I hate CG effects. It just looks so fake. You look at start wars for instance and compare Yoda from Empire strikes back with Attack of the clones (or any of the prequels) and you see what I mean. When they used puppets they had to pay attention to detail so they would look real. The Yoda, however, in the prequels look cartoonish. When a movie that uses CG graphics first comes out the graphics look real but six months after it's initial release they FX become dated. I do not think its because Hollywood doesn't have the money to pay professionals to make the production look spectacular. I think Hollywood is so tied up with the "famous for being famous" types who have no talent that they are forgetting the real talent.

  10. I really do not know much about the Chuck/Donna storyline except that Donna was a hooker and was beaten up. Anyway, I think they could have had them return to the series when Bianca opened up "Miranda Center". Donna could have she been a counselor or something?? I think it would have been interesting for her to see her interact with Randi's storyline and Madison's storyline.

I also wish Mark would have returned full time at one point. I know the show felt different when Brook left because the "Balance of Power" was no longer there but was still there a void missing before she left?? I wish they never got ride of Mark because Erica deserved to have a sibling/direct family member to confide with besides friends like Opal. Why did they get rid of his character anyway??

  11. A classic VW "bad" Rachel scene is available on YouTube. I believe it is one of Jacquie Courtney's Emmy reels. Check it out -- you get to see VW versus JC at their very best. Sorry, I don't have the link, but it shouldn't be hard to find. Wyndham, Courtney, and Dailey are at their best -- of course, supported by the great writing of Harding Lemay.

I am trying to find it on YT and no luck.
