Y&R doesn’t seem inclined to do any of those options, so they float him in repetitive leading man/business stories are DOA simply to appease JM’s fans. He’s obviously not going anywhere but he feels like dead weight to me. 

I'd make him into a Brock like character. Spiritual awakening of some sort. But with him, he'll wind up opening some holistic type shop with homemade bars of soap, essential oils and things of that nature. Oh, and Tye-dye shirts and dream catchers. If the censors allow it, he'll become a Bob Marley type.

Gotcha. And that makes sense (as to why that's wrong). There is this belief, too, that old people don't experiment with different brands. As someone whose circle of friends mostly consisted of boomers and their parents I can verify that isn't true. Especially now. They are far more conscience of the various toxic chemicals in cleaning products and have switched brands. And most can afford to buy more expensive brands that are better than you.

I'm 32 and most people I know my age, or younger, who live where I do (Chicago) can't afford to go to the grocery store and buy the name brand of everything they want/need to get. I listened to a report on WGN Radio that the pandemic and the various economic issues within the last few years caused the generic brands to have an increase in sales.

I would love to see multi-generational dynamics in which we have a younger character whose single pipe dreaming about the day in which she can FINALLY be like young people of yesterday who didn't have to constantly buy from thrift stores and buy from discount grocery stores like Dollar Tree (like I have to do) and had a huge credit card debt. Then she is hired by an older women to be her personal companion who manages to pay her a salary with a live-in position that would guarantee her a life where she can live modestly. She doesn't really want to be rich but comfortable. But then she meets the older woman's husband and (you can infer the rest! Ha!).

Not at all is it stupid. It's not a retcon. Firstly, listen to the music; it's communicating tension. Second, as you said, it was a decade ago. The emotions have subsided. If she came back and Victor was an ass and dismissive or threw her out that would have been impulsive even for him. Had this been a 6 weeks after she tried to kill him and Nikki? Then, yes, that wouldn't make sense. There is a guy who fucked me and my fiance over 5 years ago (framed  him of a crime and he went to jail for it but was exonerated but we went homeless as a result). Had I ran into him even a few months after the fact? I would have killed him. 5 years later? Well, no; I haven't forgave him but my emotions have subsided. I would be cautious. Civil, but on alert.

I haven't watched regularly in over a decade, before March. But I pretty much love Sonny and Jason. I love anti-heros. But yes, I am looking forward for more checks and balances.

AMC needed a shot in the arm at the time and Finola was a star; they promoted her coming on big time. They were also trying to exit Michael Nader over money and used his 'death' to bring Alex on as his supposed widow. How Alex became evil on GH has never been explained, but seeing as she had an incredibly convoluted and stupid backstory on AMC involving evil spies and brainwashing (and British thespian Samantha Eggar as her fake mom) it is not a stretch to think that Alex simply reverted to old form.

Was it already established Alexa was Anna's sister? Or was that a retcon?

It's empty now, but I played around with the wayback machine and found some older versions with a list of cues, but the music cues don't play. I'm posting it because maybe somebody else can figure it out and share here.

You might be able to cross-reference those against that website. As far as that specific cue, I don't think it's on any of the official CDs so most likely only TV rips would be available and that might be the best you can get.
