  1. I thought so, too. She is easily recognizable (she still looks like herself, I mean)
  2. Katherine Justice (Temp Faith February 1979) performs with a competitive quartet called Happy Hour! Katherine Is on the far left.
  3. Yes, thanks to Carl and Amy for sharing this with us!
  4. Never heard this album...so there weren't any of John's RH “friends” on the album?
  5. Robert Finoccoli's (Pat #3) Robert is seen at approx. 17:44
  6. Nancy was already in her early 40's, so I give her credit for leaving a steady paycheck and even attempting to try to find some success in California at that time.
  7. Some comments from Nancy Addison (Jill) that were in the Soap Opera Digest article To Quit Or Not To Quit? How Stars Cope With the Temptation to Leave Daytime (written by Michael Logan) in the December 1, 1987 issue.
  8. Jack & Jill - when they were together, Jack wasn't interested in a commitment and he felt Jill was too uptight -- plus both thought the other was too emotionally closed off. Of course, that was before Jack and Jill were saved by the love of a Ryan. ;-) When Jack was seeking an annulment from Mary, he wanted Jill to testify that when they were in bed one Sunday morning, there had been noisy kids outside , down on the street, and at that time he told Jill he never wants children.
  9. Faith Catlin (Faith #1) in The Favor ...as part of The Ten Minute Play Festival in Vermont in February 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb5PwfvUwmo
  10. I didn't realize they were trying to bring it back as early as 2000/2001. I recall that they were in 2007 -- after Soapnet had rewound back to the beginning for the 3rd time (on the Soapnet forum... some there were even hoping Rosie would buy all the1975-1989 episodes and put them on the air ...somewhere) From People magazine, July 31, 2007, they had this blurb from Rosie's blog - Also on Monday, after a correspondent asked if she watches old episode of Ryan's Hope on SOAPnet..com, O'Donnell responded with the news that she is in negotiations with one of the 1975-1989 show's writer/producers to make a phoenix out of the series. O'Donnell writes: I am working on bringing back ryan's hope in some way now...
  11. Random thoughts -- I think Robyn Millan, Nancy Barrett, and Mary Carney (much theater) were all a great deal more experienced (in acting) than Nicolette Goulet. Mary Carney often had that theatrical line delivery that Kate had. I would have liked to have seen Nancy Barrett with John Gabriel (not necessarily on RH, but somewhere).
  12. In an interview, when she was on another soap, Nicolette Goulet said she felt they were still writing for Kate's Mary for most of her run – she felt finally near the end they were writing for her.
  13. As posted here a while ago and in the Almost Became thread – Kathryn Breech (Karen Wolek #1 on One Life To Live ) said she was offered the role of Faith but turned it down because she didn't want to be a recast. Then Nancy Barrett began as Faith.
  14. That is a good question - everything in the press, at that time, sounded like she was to be a permanent Faith. She gave interviews during that brief time and never said she was a temp. Nancy also said had to audition for the role with Malcolm Groome and Justin Deas. DAY TV (December 1976) had to go back and add a postscript to an interview with her because by the time the interview was going to press – Nancy she was gone. The magazine asked her about her departure and she said to call her leaving “contractual differences. “ They used up some good double meaning dialogue in that episode in the following scene - with Faith and Pat going on about how Faith had changed a lot and was now different.
  15. Daniel Hugh-Kelly (Frank # 3 on Ryan's Hope, Travis #2 on All My Children, Col. Winston Mayer on As the World Turns) guest starred on tonight's (5/6) episode of CBS' NCIS.
  16. The shorter hair Sarah had for approx. the last two months of her run was more of a shoulder length bob cut.
  17. I've wondered what happened to Dennis Jay Higgins (Sam Crowell). After Ryan's Hope, he was in an off-Broadway play (Isadora Duncan Sleeps With The Russian Navy) in early 1977...not sure what became of him after that.
  18. I just put two in the Cancelled Soaps' Ryan's Hope thread. They also aren't ”now” photos – but from 2006 & 2011
  19. For Applcin Trent Jones (Ken George Jones) approx. 2006 and in 2011
  20. There is a new Catherine Hicks (Faith #3) interview about her 1980 TV performance as Marilyn Monroe. While others have asked Catherine about the role before (like Ty and Lisa did when she was on Soapnet's Soap Talk) it was great to hear someone interview her who had actually seen the movie recently and asks about certain scenes. http://blog.tvstoreonline.com/2014/03/catherine-hicks-looks-back-at-her-emmy.html As I mentioned some time ago, the former Cornell theater student that helped her when she first beginning her career was Jordan Clarke.
  21. That was when Jennifer Harmon was Cathy Craig, wasn't it? Were Ken and Jennifer a couple at that time?
  22. That Soapnet marathon was a wonderful way to celebrate the day. While some original viewers say they recall that Maeve singing Danny Boy was a yearly tradition, Maeve didn't sing the song on the first St. Patrick's day episode in 1976. She also didn't sing it in 1979 (Helen was only in the last 5 seconds of that episode -- the show ended with Maeve entering the bar after just arriving home from her trip from Ireland), 1985, and 1986 (on the old Soapnet message board we were told Ryan's Hope didn't have special SPD episodes those two years and that was why Soapnet didn't have them to play in their holiday marathons in 2000-2002.) In 2003, the SPD marathon was replaced with the airing of the first 5 episodes from 1975. That was the final special marathon of RH they ever had.
  23. Daniel Hugh-Kelly (Frank #3 on Ryan's Hope, Travis #2 on All My Children, Col. Winston Mayer on As the World Turns) guest starred tonight (3/4) on the NBC comedy Growing Up Fisher. Haley Pullos (Molly on General Hospital) was also in the episode.
  24. Daniel Hugh-Kelly (Frank # 3 on Ryan's Hope, Travis #2 on All My Children, Col. Winston Mayer on As the World Turns) guest starred tonight (3/3) on ABC's Castle.
