  1. The topic of Ilene being fired in 1983 came up again, today. This would be from the summer of 1983 news, before she was fired later that fall.
  2. This was posted, in 2007, by Michael Corbett(via his webmaster).
  3. I wanted to bring a few more posts over from the Soapnet forum - before it disappears. This was from the Totally Kate webmaster.
  4. Thanks, Carl. While reading that, I would have never guessed what his future careers would have been. MacKenzie is a retired deputy sheriff living in Washington state. He and his wife, Jesse, have two grown children, and four grandchildren. He's an auctioneer and does fund raising auctions these days. 5. Faith Catlin had been unhappy on the show, too. According to this 1981 newspaper interview, she didn't like that Faith had been in danger every Friday. Her other comments, about how actors aren't given any responsibility or choice, and likening actors to children begin told what to do, makes me think she was better suited for directing – which she eventually did. BTW- This piece also said she quit- and that was not true. Faith Catlin stockpiles theater credits/1981
  6. 30-second Star Slips Onto Set Of `Ryan`s` Soap - 1987
  7. Jackie Zeman auditioned for the part of Reenie Szabo
  8. If she didn't have an unprofessional reputation from her time over at One Life to Live, perhaps they would have considered Kathryn again when Catherine Hicks left the following spring.
  9. Before Ryan's Hope hired Nancy Barrett to replace Faith Catlin in the role of Faith Coleridge, Kathryn Breech was offered the part
  10. Before Ryan's Hope hired Nancy Barrett to replace Faith Catlin in the role of Faith Coleridge, Kathryn Breech was offered the part.
  11. I don't know what prompted his leaving. I'm about a week behind in my viewing, but I think killing off two characters, within a month of each other, seems like a odd thing for a new show to do when they're still trying find a audience.
  12. Great picture of Ty McConnell. Carl, do you know if the actors' dates, on the character profiles, over at Soap Central are reliable? I'm asking because when I was looking up Frank Latimore on Guiding Light it said that he began his recurring role over there on April 5, 1976. He was killed off RH on March 29th and I was surprised that only 7 days later made his Guiding Light debut. Talk was that he liked playing that warmer father role more than playing cold Ed Coleridge. 13. I will put entire piece in the Discuss The Soaps section. Apparently, some names were misspelled in the piece.
  14. I suppose having Alicia hang out with Bob tied her closer to Delia. But Bucky was Pat's best friend and would have still been a link. In fact, Bucky's strong negative view of Delia might have made Alicia feel even more torn about her promise to keep the miscarriage secret.
  15. I think that was just speculation on the writers part. Interesting how they also thought Bucky was going to be the one paired with Alicia.
  16. Ana Alicia Ortiz (Alicia)
  17. Thanks. A few years ago, I had found this, online, about John Blazo. It's from 2001. The Morning Call/John Blazo
  18. Ana Alicia (Alicia): HELLO, IS THIS LINDA?...I MEAN ANA ALICIA?
  19. One of Catherine's friends from Cornell, who was the actress who worked as a nurse, was Sharon Gabet. Sharon played Raven #2 on The Edge of Night. She also had roles on Another World as Britttany and One Life to Live as Melinda #3 . (Excerpt)
  20. Catherine Hicks (Faith #3): I FEEL SORRY FOR A LOT OF MEN TODAY
  21. I enjoy reading them, too. Some things about the actors' lives are repeated in these interviews, from various magazines, but I always learn a new tidbit or two. Magazine were very different back then.
  22. Malcolm Groome (Pat #1): Y IS FOR YOGA (1977)
