I posted episode four a few posts above. All the episodes are posted by the same person on YouTube.

Yeah I found those episodes earlier this morning as well, some musical segments have unfortunately been muted by Youtube but all in all exceptional quality. I binge watched all five.

I really did enjoy this caper, in particular I thought the references to Days' history were really well done.

    Spoiler

In particular I enjoyed the revelation that the Peacock statue was actually given to the Alamains by the Von Leuschners as Carly's dowry for her originally intended arranged marriage to Lawrence and that the Alamains kept it; only for it to be stolen by Hope (as Princess Gina) years later.

I asked this elsewhere, but have to wonder if anyone here ever noticed the Five Families are only represented by 4 people-- Buscema, Novak, Wu and whichever Corinthos shows up?

The other "family" was the Russian Bratva. Sonny had a habit of killing their representatives (Mr Serge in 2015 and Petrov in 2017).

They often seem to be replaced by whoever Sonny's rival is at the time, for example after Mr Serge was killed, Ava basically took his spot at one of the meetings as the then head of the Jerome family. The Russian Bratva came back in 2017 represented by Petrov and then Cyrus Renault seems to have taken their spot at the meeting in May. If so, perhaps it is intended that the spot is vacant and will be filled at some point by whoever is the current main rival of the Corinthos Organization.

Has the show mentioned if Ryan’s killing sprees in 1992, 1995 and 2018–2019 were the subject of any true crime podcast or movie?

There was a producer actually who was in the process of making a documentary (interviewed Felicia etc) and came to show Kevin the footage. Unfortunately Kevin was actually Ryan at the time and when the producer told him of his theory that Ryan had survived the funhouse explosion, Ryan killed him. This took place at the end of 2018.

It's certainly possible that the footage could have been found and leaked.

There was also a scene a few months back that established that Ryan does get a lot of fan mail (including from Heather Webber lol).

Crib death? I was sure the child had had leukemia. Of course I could be wrong, memories fade after 50 years. Hmmm.

Where did that summary come from originally, does anyone know?

Daytime Serial Newsletter, the same source that @FrenchFan has been posting in the 1975 summaries thread. FrenchFan did not have summaries from later on in 1973 but @will81 did and posted the September 1973 summary on page 13 of that thread.

It reminded me of when GH "stole" Denise Alexander away from Days, to great fanfare and expected she would help the ratings soar because she was a soap superstar. There again, the writing was weak, the character was unfocused (she had had a son who died of diabetes whom no one except Pat Falken Smith ever remembered or talked about), and was not paired with a romantic lead successfully for years until Rick Webber came along. Neither Alexander nor Gordon helped the ratings rise. Only good writing and dynamic romantic pairings would later do that.

I was very surprised to learn (I think from one of the 1973 summaries that @FrenchFan posted) that Lesley had had another child that died...it's barely mentioned anywhere. I also recall that the backstory was also that Augusta had had an affair with Lesley's husband.

Correction: it was a summary @will81 provided

Unfortunately, after she was gone, TPTB tried to pair Mark Dante with a new character named Kathryn Corbin (actress Maggie Sullivan).

She was married to Lamont wasn't she and Mark and her had an affair, Lamont later died and she married Mark only to be killed offscreen when Mark returned.

Lamont was some sort of businessman involved in a scam with David Hamilton and Dan worked for him before joining the staff at GH, Am I correct?

I always wanted Terri to return, but I don't think anyone on the show ever mentioned her again.

I've seen some of the videos of Jeff's paternity reveal post Lassa Fever and Terri did get mentioned a lot during that time. I think either Rick or Jeff went to visit her in Hawaii but after that she doesn't seem to get mentioned at all.

Because I am an incorrigible optimist, I will say this: between Drew being alive, Liz/Finn's "guilt", Maxie and the baby secret and now the Nina/Mike thing, there are a lot of directions in which a Peter return can yield good story.

I agree. I was particular intrigued by the reveal that Peter hadn't killed the real Nurse Chloe after all and now it seems she is in captivity with Drew. Also, the identity of the other prisoner will be interesting to find out.

    Spoiler

I feel the unseen prisoner is either Hayden, Nelle or Holly

Is it Lives (rhymes with hives) or Lives (rhymes with gives)?

I've always assumed it was Lives (rhymes with hives) since it was going to be a spin-off of Days of Our Lives, same with Pacific Lives.

Just like how Another World was originally going to be a spin-off of As The World Turns.

And when is Willow a nurse? Isn't she a teacher?

Willow was working as a teacher for the sick kids at GH, but when Cyrus and Britt took over the teaching program was cut so Willow decided to enroll in nursing school. That was nearly a year ago so presumably she's been attending classes off-screen when not wallowing over whether to choose Michael or Chase.

Sprina is like a classic soap love story. Playing every beat, every angle, not rushing through it

They're even giving Ava and Portia lots of time together, making Portia acutely aware of how the stalking incidents are affecting Ava. So when the time comes for whatever Spencer's role in the stalking is exposed, Portia's opposition to Sprina will seem organic and absolutely reasonable.

Molly started attending classes at Salem U but they was sexually harassed and raped by one of her college professors.

Molly managed to knock him out before he could rape her; it looked like she'd killed him for a moment but then he woke up, told her she'd imagined his harassment and threatened to press charges for knocking him out.

After their mini vacation, I don't believe any focus was ever given again to their relationship. Jessie and Dan just went back to chatting occasionally at the nurses' station.

There were a few scenes in 1981 where Jessie was a bit put out when Dan started taking Ruby out on dates and started acting somewhat passive aggressively towards Ruby. Bobbie confronted Jessie about it (I think Bobbie pointed out that it was Jessie who decided to cool her relationship with Dan) and Jessie made up with Ruby and agreed they could both see Dan as friends. That said, from that point on I think from what I have seen Dan tended to take Ruby out more often and at some point they must have become exclusive and presumably Jessie was ok with that.

  13. In this clip, Sarah tells Emily and Jason about her brother Steven-Lars and Emily realises that Steven sounds just like the old Jason (an "easter egg" for those fans who would have realised Steven- Lars and Jason were second cousins), while Monica and Audrey talk about Monica's marriage to Jeff.

  14. I also recall a storyline in 1992 where Days blatantly ripped off a Rock Hudson and Doris Day movie (Send Me No Flowers); Jack misheard his doctor talking about a terminal patient and thought his hodgkins was back and set about trying to match-make Jennifer with Brian.

I always felt that it was Lisanne’s murder and Stella kidnapping Marlena to take her to the pit is what got the ball rolling again for the show.

Agree. Both plots re-energised the show and set it up for a very dynamic 1993.

Oh I remember Rebecca too.  She was so aggressive about getting John.  Going around asking Marlena inappropriate questions about how to land him lol!  Never taking no for an answer.  She just sorta disappeared.  But at the end of the day we do know that John Black and his mullet are irresistible to women🤣

I think she was injured or something when someone (possibly Curtis Reed?) tried to harm Kristen but got her instead? And left town afterwards. By then John was already making googly eyes at Kristen so he didn't care very much lol.

John sure makes a quick jump from Isabella to Marlena to Kristen to Paul's mom who all got pregnant.  That's 4 babies in 5 years.

There was Rebecca too, who didn't get pregnant, but John literally went from their bed at the hot springs resort to skinny dipping in the springs with Marlena.

I wonder what the thinking was re return of Lee Baldwin? He was written out the year before and as an older character it was odd that the decision was made to bring him back. A good one nonetheless.

I think I read somewhere that the thinking was that the show had so many newcomers at this point that the audience might appreciate a familiar face returning. As to why they choose Lee specifically I don't know. But since his brother Tom was back from the dead and there was potential for Scotty down the road (which eventually came into fruition), I'm guessing this may have factored into their decision.

Without their knowledge, Mike was hiding in a storage room in the basement. Martha was taking him food. Finally, Mike called his friend, Tommy Baldwin. Mike had realized he might get the Taylors in a lot of trouble by hiding there and wanted Tommy to get him enough money to get to an old neighbor in his old home town.

Interesting to see all the kids involved in storylines, I guess they would have been about ten at this point? It's a shame they killed off Martha.

ill Streeter, angry at her father, Adam, because he appeared taken by Gina Dante and because he, backed by Gina, refused to buy her a car, got a sample of Adam's  signature and forged it on a withdrawal slip to get $2000 from her trust fund for the car. Her boyfriend Dexter and Laura Faulkner warned she could get in trouble, but Jill wouldn't be deterred.

This one paragraph suggests that Laura and Jill Streeter were friends, a logical development - considering Laura would have been only a year or so younger than Jill - but nonetheless nice tidbit to know.

It's odd, since May, I've barely seen George and Eileen, now they're on frequently and their relationship is ending. If you just jumped in and had no idea ... the balance is a bit odd on the UK soaps.

Same thing for Ryan and Alya. I think they appeared like once in May and now here they are on frequently in the midst of their Daisy drama.

Is it more of a recent COVID protocol thing? I know they often focus on certain storylines but there's usually more going on in the background. I don't know. The flow isn't great but it's not the worst. I can see they're doing a better job having more extras now in the background and using more of the cast together again.

Block storytelling.  It's been a feature for decades but I think in the past they've done a better job of having characters pop up in the Rovers etc when they are in-between their blocks. No doubt COVID protocols are playing a part but I seem to recall people were noticing issues with it pre-COVID. I think a bigger cause would be to do with the size of the cast, number of eps per week and how they're aired in the UK (usually two episodes on the same night).

yeah, this whole Sunny amnesia SL seems dumb af w/o her (or at least Sarah Brown). It would actually be funny + a shocking twist if Sunny got all his memories back... but they were devoid of Carley, and he only wanted Brenda. I think that would be a pretty satisfying twist, and I'm not even a Sonny/Brenda stan. LOL

    4 hours ago, carolineg said:

Or he could have no memories and just fall in love with her all over again.  But it just doesn't seem very Brenda to totally keep him from his family so I am hit or miss on that.

I do think there is a story to tell there and not with Nina.   I am a Sonny/Brenda stan so I would like a story that has the least collateral damage for them.  I think I would rather him get his memories back and realize Brenda is his true love and just break it off with Carly.

I think the best time for Brenda to rock up would be just before Sonny makes it back to Port Charles, perhaps something Deception related as a favour to Brook Lynn and Lucy. We also get the obligatory visit from Brenda to Sonny's grave. Then Sonny returns and it plays out from there. I'm happy for it to go either way, either Sonny remembers Brenda and not Carly or Sonny remembers neither and falls in love with Brenda all over again.

With this, I'm iffy. I love Charles, but I feel like what's the point? I also don't like that he's likely coming on as a new character when he already played a relative of Holly and Holly has a story currently up in the air.

It'd be quite interesting if cousin Alistair was a brought back as the show's next big bad and was the one behind Holly's disappearance.
