  1. Others blame Jeff Weaver, one of his main campaign people. His wife does seem very passive-aggressive and not as clever as she thinks when she goes on TV "joking" about Hillary's e-mails.
  2. I'm so tired of seeing teenage girls written in a nasty manner 24/7. Why not some variety? No wonder so many teenage girls avoid soaps now. What a waste of talented actresses. The girl who plays Liv was especially good today, but the material is so unpleasant. I thought Jacob's reaction was a bit overdramatic but I understood how he felt, and David's lack of trust in him. I was glad Leyla was a part of all that, even if she didn't have much to say.
  3. I saw speculation about that because SIdwell followed various actors on Twitter and someone looking like him was seen in Jonny Labey (Paul)'s Instagram post before it was deleted. I always hated what they did to Steven. It was one of the worst stories ever on EE, a story that was confused as hell, horribly acted, and essentially told viewers that bisexuals or gay men (they never bothered to make up their mind) are depraved killers. Worst of all was when that nasty dried-up old hag Christian came in and the story became all about him. He was ugly in every way at that time - not just personality, but also grotesque overacting and horrid, horrid hair - and he was repulsive to watch. The show wanted to position him as some sort of all-knowing sage on what a gay man is supposed to be. That Christian is returning around the time Steven does makes me feel like DTC is going to try to revive that and yet again trash Steven to prop up the disgusting, dirty Christian and Jane duo. If they do go that cheap route I hope he puts a pillow over Jane's face and never lets go. She needs to be written out, permanently.
  4. Apparently they do have a lot of fans on Twitter. God knows why. I think the story is supposed to be trashy and wrong and Harry felt it was the only option, and I guess I should praise the show for not trying to sex it up, but this was one time I actually would have wanted them to sex it up...
  5. I watched some recent clips to see Amy, although naturally her only reason for returning was to bitch out Ste for yet again being a failure of a father. I suppose I should give the show credit as they didn't try to make her seem irrational or cruel, and instead made it clear through Harry contacting her that those kids should not be in that environment, living in a shack. It's sad that Harry cares more about those children than Ste does, especially since he's not even a decade older than one of them! I remember years ago when Ste, for his many, many flaws, loved his children. They have just taken this character to pieces, and Kieron mostly seems to just resort to sloppy habits in response. I couldn't help noticing that a show that has such a blase attitude about prostitution and such took pains to never let viewers see Harry kiss James. Were they afraid that "Starry" fans would be angry? Or did they not want to give any impression that Harry was getting anything out of it? It's too bad, as James is actually a charismatic, attractive guy (even if he's a sleaze), and the actor and Parry Glasspool have a certain...something about them. I think Harry sleeping with him for money but also because he was so fed up of a punishing life with Ste would have been more compelling. So I guess they've so completely run out of stories and men for JP that he's now romantically involved with Scott? Why? Compared to some of his past relationships (so many...), they actually aren't that bad, but it is pretty much just waving a white flag in terms of John Paul being of any importance to the show.
  6. Jesse McCartney, of all people, is playing a sleazy villain on Fear the Walking Dead.
  7. Someone has been uploading the "Faux Bo" story. Some of this is already around, of course, but they're starting from the beginning of "Bo's" return, during the search for Clint. I'll post the first clip and you can go on from there if you wish. It's fun seeing RSW playing "Bo" playing Bo - he does it just right, in that it seems like "our" Bo yet you know something isn't right. And of course you get lots of Buchanan goodness, and '80s fashion goodness (and Cord in tight jeans, which is a goodness all of its own).
  8. Allison also had a fairly big recurring role on GL in 1994. It's where I first saw her.
  9. I feel like they're easing her into that. I wish I could remember Barry's brother. I remember Barry, obviously.
  10. Reading an old Weekly AW piece from 1991 and they mention that Judi Evans auditioned for Kathleen before Julie Osburn was brought back for the role. If they made Julie audition for her own role, especially since she was so wonderful in that (not all that well written) return, that really annoys me. It's not even like with Ellen Wheeler where there had been a successful recast since. And Judi Evans as Kathleen...really now.
  11. I did appreciate that, but it was so weak - oh, he's her son's best mate. It seems like DTC only wants Kathy in Ian's story, where she has no real purpose. I think he's so scared of anything rocking the Mitchell boat. Some say Sharon is his "real" mother but she is whipped and useless in that family, as we saw yet again this past week. Ben doesn't need that.
  12. He'll just be offcamera, I think. I also wish Kathy would be there for Jay, but she's barely even in Ben's life. It just annoys me because when she came back I had this idea that she's grow to care about Jay, as he has done so much for Ben. Silly silly me.
  13. I really want to see Jay away from the Mitchells (bar Ben), trying to find a new job. I saw some say he should be staying with Patrick. Kim and Vincent have their own place with Pearl so you'd think he could. Sadly I know that won't happen as Patrick will be gone for weeks.
  14. He seems happy enough on his Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/jamie_b10/?hl=en I think what worries me in all of it is I just don't know where the story can go, especially as I doubt they're willing to explore the consequences (for instance, he shouldn't even be able to live with Honey and Billy, because of their kids). I hope the new producer is willing to explore the fallout.
  15. I keep thinking he'll either go or he'll instead just go back to bit player duty. I hope I'm wrong. This was 6 episodes of 90% trash and he was well and truly the standout. He saved the week. I also wish they'd keep the girl who plays Linzi/Star on the show. Drop her mother in a volcano.
  16. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/feature/a792326/eastenders-actor-jamie-borthwick-random-facts-about-the-jay-brown-star/ It's hard to believe all 4 kid actors in this are still on soaps...and only one a half of them (the half being Eden-Taylor Draper on her good days) still have any ability to act.
  17. Opening credits at the end, and near the start, a really cool banner for the show.
  18. Some fans get upset when people say the show is Carter-centric, but today proved it yet again. Not just in airtime, but in the focus of the writing. Everything with the Beales and the market and especially everything with Ben and Paul was rushed, lazy, plot-driven, but there was real effort made on those scenes with Tina and her fling. Lengthy conversations between Tina and Mick (which ended up being all about Mick and his issues - everything in that family is about Mick) to give us the full perspective on Tina's guilt and torn feelings on what to do, with various members of the family reacting to those conversations. And this was a carry-over from other lengthy scenes about this on Thursday. It's just absurd. Now that the Dean story is over (for now anyway) and Shirley is away from Phil (for now anyway), I'm not hating her as much as I did for most of the last few years. The Carters have been a huge detriment to her, IMO, but it's sort of evening out now. The Kyle story is clumsy and a walking PSA, and his behavior today seemed less like being upset than like he was having a psychotic breakdown, but I did like the scene where Andy was saying those veiled transphobic slurs that no one else got. It had an uncomfortable vibe that reminded me a lot of real life - it wasn't overdone. Lee has somehow, along the way, probably become my favorite Carter...not that that's saying a lot, as my second favorite is probably Johnny, who to be honest isn't even much of an actor. I'd say it's because of his incredible ass, and that is part of it, but he just feels relateable and true in a way most of the Carters don't. What a huge waste this market story is of Kathy. She needs to be keeping Ben in line, keeping him in check when he throws out of control tantrums like the one he threw today (and what lovely continuity to have him not even mention Jay). The scenes with Ben and Paul were just horribly written. Kathy should have a central role in Ben's storyline. I don't understand why she doesn't. I saw some fan saying Jay has taken her role in Ben's life, and at first I thought, "That's pretty damn sad," but the saddest part is it's probably true.
  19. I don't watch regularly but I'm pleased at the above opinions because I've never had a problem with them either. I think Johnny is one of the better older guys cast in recent years (admittedly they've had some horrors), and Aidan is one of the better younger leading men (ditto). My issue with Phelan is that I only want to see him if he's ruining the lives of characters I don't like, like Anna and her mushmouth bore of a husband, Owen, who thankfully fucked off last year. I like Todd and Jason. I think Ryan Thomas is good at emotional material sometimes, but he's seemed checked out for a while now (maybe all the partying catching up to him - who knows). I'm going to miss Jason, but sometimes more for what he's been than what he is now. Still, I hope he returns. Brocklebank was terrific on Emmerdale, and from what I've seen he's been decent on Corrie as a very different character, but he really shocked me with those scenes today. Kate Oates needs to give him a central role. He reminds me a lot of the Corrie leading men of the '60s and '70s - placid but full of fire underneath.
  20. I think that's how they met. I'm not sure. The show is really weird at the moment, but for all the criticism the story has received from various fans, more of the David story still works for me than doesn't. It's not the nudity that feels tacked on to me - it's Tracy's involvement. I like Tracy, but using this story to set up her romance with David and having her so involved in emotional scenes with Eric or Jacob, is distracting. Still - most of it works for me, especially the more emotional scenes like poor David having to talk to an out of the loop Jacob on the phone. The show struck gold with the boy who plays Jacob not growing into an awkward-style Chesney teen. I just hope they know what to do with him. I still don't know what the show's plans are for Jai. They sort of skated over his recovery and being a good guy again. I don't know if that means he's going to have a relapse, or if it just means they didn't care about showing us any real effort at rehabbing the character. I just hope this isn't going to lead to Megan/Jai 3.0. They've never had chemistry. I'd love to know if the sudden return of a community spirit is Oates or the new producer...
  21. She'd be out attacking the likes of Jack Hanna and declaring that Gigi is the second coming of Jesus in that field. And saying he gave them Lyme Disease...
  22. What are her children, 4? Enough already. This is all about her. I wish all her kids had become zoologists. She'd probably be out humping bears.
  23. That's wonderful.
  24. Remember her dusting the blinds?
