  1. She's gotten much more criticism in recent years (especially after people found out about that Bossypants book) and she seems very defensive. I think one of the problems that Fey and many SNL vets have is that they still think SNL is a national touchstone and speaks to the general liberal or pseudo-liberal American. It doesn't. It hasn't in a long time. She's out of touch.
  2. Thanks. It's too bad this wasn't done after episode 14 as I'd love to hear his thoughts on the security guard job, and Freddie. I'm glad he said the part about how James works best as a character with David Lynch present, because I think that's very much true. I didn't know it was friends and family in the Roadhouse. It makes sense though.
  3. He has a nice ass. He reminds me of the Desperate Housewives quote about crying when he comes, though. That whole thing reminded me more of House Hunters than RH. Anyway... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4802870/RHONJ-star-Jacqueline-Laurita-lists-house-2-3million.html Oh and
  4. The Liberal party in Australia (isn't it the Liberal party...or is that wrong?) dumped their Trump-esque PM, Tony Abbott, so they're much smarter than the GOP is. He reminded me of this:
  5. On the one hand, if Bannon goes then hopefully that will ease up some of the sabotage and chaos that has paralyzed America to the point where we are now having to hear our POTUS exult over Nazis. On the other hand, if Trump is still doing these things (which he will) it just feels like Bannon taking a victory lap with that pompous interview and with going to work for the very powerful and far-reaching Mercers. So I worry this is just going to make things even worse.
  6. Do you ever notice the ridiculous high campery that we get from many of the most odious on the far right? I guess it's a byproduct of Dynasty being exported across the globe...
  7. Thanks for finding these. Really enjoyed the Ian Buchanan interview and his memories of Miguel Ferrer.
  8. One of the stories that the media is hiding while they salivate over Trump - many states are moving forward with plans to push more people off Medicaid: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/medicaid-waivers-trump-hhs
  9. Jan Brewer is pretty horrible (I could say a few more nasty things but will keep it kind), but at least she let Ana Navarro speak... I think everyone knows Trump is a racist or panders heavily to racists. What they didn't expect was that he wouldn't try to hide it. He just puts it all out there. That's very dangerous to America, but it's also telling a truth that America needs to hear about itself and about the party they have put in control of the government. I just wish people realized that the Republicans who are better at speeches and looking concerned are just as racist as he is.
  10. "Use it abuse it or lose it." Ugh - that's why I hate so much of the Beltway media. Even now it's a game to them. What this mindset says is that if Trump can ever not throw [!@#$%^&*] against a fan every few minutes he will be Presidential. I saw that Gingrich and Ari Fleischer were praising Trump, and Fleischer added that there are no "fine" Nazis or white supremacists. What country are we in that we now need someone to remind us that all Nazis are bad...?
  11. The thing is that the media is addicted to "both sides" coverage. That's part of what helped Trump get elected. This is their creation. And honestly I wonder how many in the media secretly agree with him.
  12. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/national-review-calls-removal-confederate-monuments They've always been more pseudo-intellectual than openly bigoted, but still, didn't think I'd see them say that.
  13. If so, then how sad - the return has done nothing but tarnish Toyah's legacy on the show. I have no real interest in seeing Carla again, especially if it is going to be about Michelle, an unwatchable, unlikeable, failed character. And I'd rather watch Fiz buy a vibrator than ever see Carla with Peter again.
  14. Per IMDB her episodes were October 20, 21 and 27 2004.
  15. Astheworldstillturns has full episodes up from 2004 (when Carmen appeared on ATWT for three episodes). Bandstandmike has full episodes from late 1996 (when Josh Taylor was on GL).
  16. I don't think it helps that Trump chose to bitterly attack the Merck CEO who left. They know that will be them when they leave and they will get nothing in return for staying but abuse. Business thought they could control Trump, Ivanka and Jared thought they could, the GOP thought they could. No one can.
  17. I have to admit I don't use my limited social media platforms to talk about politics because I worry about getting threats. This is the only place, pretty much, that I talk about them. I do realize that what happened there wasn't politics, it was hate and racism, which should transcend politics. I guess I'm just too nervous to want to say anything about anything beyond entertainment stuff.
  18. I remember reading that Chris Schemering book talking about how ATWT in the '70s had the story where Jennifer wanted to go back to school and Bob not happy and with Nancy also not happy. She changed her mind. He compared this to the '80s where Bob bawled out doctors who were dismissive of Annie. Of course it mostly depends on what type of progressive view you prefer, because a lot of the women on ATWT in the '70s seemed to be complex and vibrant, while most of the women I've seen in the early to mid '80s seem weak to me, and completely defined by men.
  19. No. A child actor played Jeremy in his 1993 appearances. He was on the show off and on from 1993-1995.
  20. Obama.
  21. Thanks for finding that. Interesting comments. The whole Black Lodge mythology is very interesting, especially because it isn't overexplained or oversold to viewers. I wonder if we'll see Hailey Baldwin again. Surely that character isn't wrapped up. I saw her making a fuss online about all the controversy over the church she and Bieber are involved in. Until then I'd forgotten she was on the show. I've loved Naomi Watts as Janey-E. I thought she would probably bite the dust a few episodes ago so I've enjoyed every small scene we've gotten ever since. I never did watch that Gypsy show but I heard it was canceled. Hopefully her next project will do well.
