  1. Says it all...
  2. Stevie being on Port Charles would have made more sense than most of their material.
  3. Any time I see that last clip I think of Big Business. City Sadie would fit right in with the Trumps...(aside from actually having money, that is).
  4. Cohen is right about Daily Caller. I get that a lot as well.
  5. The problem with Trump saying he wants a shutdown being a 'gift' for Democrats, as some are saying, is that to Trump's supporters, it is a good thing. The GOP will also see it as a good thing, as they can blame Democrats. And many of those who voted for Democrats this November will likely say that nothing has changed and Democrats taking power hasn't improved Washington, or they are being too stubborn, etc. With that said, Pelosi and Schumer have no choice but to go to a shutdown rather than accept his crap, or continue what Schumer was doing where he was trying to say that a border wall is fine just with less money attached. Unfortunately I think Democrats are going to pay the price for this shutdown, but then, some things never change.
  6. Pence just terrifies me on so many levels. The Pelosi-hating media is going to make a meal of this stuff for ages. I imagine Ed Rendell is on the phone somewhere right now.
  7. To be honest I have a feeling it's higher than that and they just aren't saying. He appeals to the worst in many.
  8. I get what people are saying about San Cristobel, but I didn't mind the story in the first year or two, when the focus was on Cassie and Richard falling in love contrasting with Reva's jealousy, Cassie's money woes, etc. It was after she and Richard married that the setting should have gone for good, I think. After that it just became more and more obvious there was no story left to tell, and what we did get was just variations on crap. By the time the boring fisherman turned out to be the real king I think I'd stopped watching. (then of course he was later killed off after about 3 seconds of screentime when they decided to make his son a psycho)
  9. Edmund was a bit queeny, but I never really had a problem believing him with women either.
  10. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/10/supreme-court-planned-parenthood-defunding-case-845056 Chief Justice John Roberts and the newest justice, Brett Kavanaugh, joined the court's four liberal jurists in turning away a pair of petitions from Kansas and Louisiana seeking the ban on abortion providers. To all those who drove many believers away for good and did horrific damage to their cause in the long-term for the sake of short-term wins they didn't even get, all I can say is:
  11. I think it will just become a figurehead role or a role for someone he wants to humiliate. I wonder if Ayers cutting and running that way means Pence may start getting further phased out.
  12. What was it they burned through most, I wonder? Maybe the stuff with the psycho nanny? Marland does spend a lot of late 1988/early 1989 phasing out material that was set up while he was on strike (like Beau and Pam). It takes a while for the show to regroup. I think it does in 1991, but the show really does become very, very bleak by 1992. I'll always wonder what might have been if he'd stayed through 93-94, which were big transition years gone wrong yet also with glimmers of potential.
  13. The biggest problem isn't so much being depressing as how hollow it is. Meaningless and damaging.
  14. A tiny bit of Lee Paterson in The Immortal.
  15. http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/1melissa.html Wow - she was on the show for a year! Her episodes should be on Youtube - or some of them, anyway. 1980-1982 are such huge slogs for AW a year feels like a decade...
  16. It feels like she's being set up for a fall.
  17. Oh that liberal media.
  18. This is all that is up at present. (I'm not saying this because I expect you to put up the other episodes, obviously)
  19. Only a few episodes are on Youtube, really.
  20. Was it every Friday they'd show them? Or every other Friday? I can't remember. I remember I'd watch the photos and name off who I liked and who I couldn't stand. And sometimes I'd notice how old some were compared to others (I think Maureen Garrett or Jerry ver Dorn had the same one for all the years they did the crawl). I always remember how gorgeous the shot of Vince Williams was. That shot represents so much of what made the GL of that era special.
  21. I am watching some, not every day but sometimes. The Maya and Jacob story is interesting, although I'm wary of them doing the topic justice. Still, this story is an example of one of the strengths of allowing child actors to stay in the roles as they get older, instead of recasting over and over. The pain that Jacob and Noah are going through has more weight because we've seen the actors for a decade now. Did you hear that ?
  22. I'm very happy for PAS. Now I just wish he was on a show I watch, as he is a superb actor. I read that he was on the FBI, which also had Dorothy Lyman. Whoever their casting director is has good taste.
  23. Thanks. I wish I could see this story. I've seen so little of Grandpa Hughes. What I've seen is a good contrast to Nancy, and he had a nice, warm scene with Tom as a boy. That's about it. I remember Marlena de la Croix calling him a bore in her SPW column and getting a negative response. Compared to the other P&G soaps ATWT seemed more willing to let their older widowed characters find love again.
  24. What was the relationship with Grandpa and Irma like? Did they explore the reactions of Nancy or Chris? Did Chris have a problem with his father being with another woman?
  25. She left in 1968. Rosemary did sort of recur from 1985-1988. I wonder if no more would have happened as Penny had been gone such a long time.
