  6. The writing here is so one-sided I had to finally just start laughing by the second clip. Clint is so overbearing/stupid while poor Sloan loves Viki so much he's keeling over! I just see no chemistry between Viki/Sloan - it's all so plot-driven. The best part of this business is Elaine Princi. I hated Dorian existing only to move the plot for Viki/Sloan/Clint, but Elaine plays the role in a glossy way that makes it less off-putting. Robin didn't really play it this way and I can see why she got fed up with it so quickly.
  7. That's true about the music. The episode feels a bit...empty, and restless. I guess I can see why they went another way by spring of the next year, although the changes made were too much in the other direction (the awful teens, dumping vets, etc.) This was it for Erica and modeling, right? Or the catwalk incident was. How long after this was the catwalk? Rudolf Martin isn't too bad here. He was worse in some other clips.
  8. Even after all these years Laurel still gets on my nerves. This role should have been packed up instead of recast - and Felicity La Fortune doesn't play this type of thing well IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbrxQ6QjojI I was never that crazy about Noah either, I think I just find him very put-on and overly mannered. It never seemed like a tough guy trying to turn his life around - more like a Milli Villi fan who joined a soap. I didn't realize they were still playing with Jack/Erica up to this point...for some reason I thought she was already back with Dimitri. Can you believe that set they're on? It seems so expensive compared to today.
  9. That's interesting. I don't know if I could see her as Laura.
  10. This has probably already been discussed but I was wondering if you knew anything about some plans to reintroduce Bill and Laura Horton in 1987 or 1988. Why did this fall through?
  11. Not to go off topic, but geez that type of underwear can look so offputting on some men. Either that or it was just a bad shot.
  12. December 1, 1987 Digest.
  13. The scene where a chill comes over Gina is so sad:
  14. It was pretty damn bad. Todd's boyfriend was like a more sympathetic preppie from Dobie Gillis. Todd himself was weak and sniveling, ashamed of his family, and only made up with his mother after his boyfriend ordered him to and Jason almost throttled him. They clearly just made Todd so weak so he could have a reconciliation with his mother, but the question is why that was necessary, since they were never on bad terms in the first place. Truly one of the most bizarre pieces of TV you will ever get to see. I won't even get into how Marcus returned out of nowhere, solely to make puppy dog eyes at Sean and try to chase him down, even though he'd previous gotten the hell away from Sean because Sean was a jealous control freak.
  15. These endless miserable feuds are so empty - it's just interchangeable harpies. Phil Collinson has made Corrie one of the most soulless programs ever broadcast. I managed to make it through the "special" Sunday episode, and aside from pointlessly regressing characters for a few minutes of drama (Todd), I was also appalled at how much casual homophobia was being thrown around, often just to try to manipulate viewers, or to be used as so-called comedy. Gail made bitterly anti-gay remarks, not just against Todd, but against all gay people, and we were supposed to chuckle. Not one minute of anything in the episode was believable. If you get a chance, watch the Jamie/Violet scenes. They are among the worst I've ever seen on any soap opera. The only positive is that Jamie finally had a haircut.
  16. I'd also love to know more about what Anna meant. I never knew Mike was a cop. It seems like Anna spent her entire soap career venting to the press about her writing. While I can't blame her, it's a wonder she had as lengthy of a career as she did.
  17. I haven't bothered with the recent stuff yet. I have heard some fans say they think Ste will pretend to be abused by Brendan and this is all some big secret plan. I can't imagine what that is about. All I know is that Hollyoaks teaches viewers abuse is love and the abuser is the real victim. There is also some rumor that
  18. I didn't want her back from the dead either. I meant as a ghost.

  20. I'd love to read it, I'm sure you'd put my stuff to shame.
  21. Thanks for filling in the blanks. I didn't know that about his character - are there any photos of Ellen as Kate? How long was she around? It seems like he came and went a lot. I wonder how long into 1966 he lasted. Generally all I have found so far of the 60s Doctors is some articles with Jim Pritchett and one with Ann Williams, and then of course David O'Brien and Liz Hubbard at the end of the decade. I wish there was more. This same issue talks about Bethel Leslie replacing Ann Williams, whom they call "beloved."
  22. I never understood why they had to bring Duke back in the first place.
