We can thank Canada for that ad. I thought Tad came back in 1993 but I guess the return must have been built up starting late 92? I like how seriously everything is taken in that ad. No overdramatic narration or fake campy "soapy" crap. Just a character and a story.

You'd think that some of the early 80's insanity of James might get some sales - if the episodes cover the bullring, amusement park, et al.

Knots Landing
I don't think we'll ever see a Knots revival, as it wasn't the big cultural phenom Dallas or Dynasty were. I'd love to see Donna Mills on something.

Thanks, that's nicely done.

The Politics Thread
After the huge fiasco of his being unable to get on the ballot and having his signatures investigated, McCotter has just decided not to run again. I guess this tells you the level of support he had within his party. This is one of the oddest stories I've ever heard. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0612/77000.html

I think modern fans are familiar with James as much as Barbara - perhaps they wanted more recent episodes, I don't know. I just feel a little sad that older episodes get low sales. It's not a surprise, as people have said this for years, but I always feel sad at the idea of stuff I literally could not sit through getting better reaction than classic material.

This is great. It's the first clip of Linda Cook as Egypt that I've seen on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7mtik01si8&feature=channel&list=UL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JjnI2gXdpM

I'm sorry to hear about the low sales. I'm not too surprised, as we keep hearing about how older material doesn't sell as well, but I hope that the older releases continue. I'm only speaking for myself, but I only buy releases with older material. I won't buy anything which is new. I'm not able to buy every release, but I am at least one person who is a customer solely for older stuff. I've bought most of the older stuff, although I haven't gotten the Lily/Holden yet and am going to have to wait a bit to get the Stenbeck one.

ANOTHER WORLD EPISODE 58 Grant vows to stop Evan
It's the fourth time for Felicia, but she may not care to remember Nikos (can't blame her!). Lorna has lost so much too. I like how you touch on the many kids in Bay City who have lost a parent, and how Mitch's death affects them.

Apparently the woman playing the nun in this (and wearing glasses in an earlier character) short film is Carol Roux? This was put on Youtube in 2008. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCkQVdGkUpM

Emily looked down on the Quartermaines for most of her life, and the family was already decimated by the time she was killed. I can see where her death helped create more of a void for young heroines (although I think Georgie's was worse in that regard, especially since it led to Maxie being ruined for the disgusting freak Spinelli), but she was not a Quartermaine.- Dynasty Discussion Thread
A September 1984 Digest mentiones plans to film Dynasty: The Movie, in France or Italy. They said all the current cast members would be filming, except Joan Collins, and that they were going to try to cast an Alexis-type character with Claudia Cardinale, Catherine Deneuve or Sophia Loren. Just how far did this get?- Loving/The City Discussion Thread

As hated as season 13 was, I did like that they tried to put Val in a less dramatic place and have her helping the woman who couldn't read. Val was just exhausted as a character and needed the break. I also liked that episode where they moved back to the cul-de-sac and we got audio flashbacks of her life there.- Knots Landing
Your posts aren't down at all. The more we care about a show the more likely we are to criticize. That we watched (and even in reruns, as I watched it, 14 seasons is a lot) and still care is a sign of how we loved the show. I hated Noises Everywhere. I never got over what Mack did, and Valene was embarrassing. They just spat on the Laura/Val friendship with Val behaving that way. It's a good example of how infantilized Val became. The only good part was Laura's video goodbye. And Jill hitting Paige with Peter's ashes.- What Are You Listening To?
