  1. http://www.politico.com/story/2012/12/report-replacing-inouye-down-to-3-85509.html?hp=f1 Not too sure what happened there. Perhaps the governor was trying to show he was boss, and not just go with what Inouye wanted. I imagine this causing controversy, especially since his pick is a white man.
  2. Not really. I just think it kind of shows how much PP has screwed this whole thing up. People are more interested in Erica's old paintings and sets than this supposed AMC revival, because they have zero reason to trust PP. I'm just glad Lucci steered clear, even when she was being attacked for some type of ingratitude.
  3. I hope someone from PP reads this thread and decides they should just spend their time replicating old sets if they want to get viewer interest.
  4. Adelson wanted Gingrich first (that sure would have gone well). I think Romney wanted to be President, he just didn't want the campaign. Boo hoo. Meanwhile, another potential Obama nominee is sinking, and while some is due to his bigoted past statement on gays, most is due to the eternal flashpoint of Israel. http://news.yahoo.com/white-house-wavers-hagel-considers-others-defense-174858843--politics.html And this "we're so bored!" whine reminds me why I hate the media. http://www.politico.com/story/2012/12/fiscal-cliff-media-85447.html?hp=l4 And - surprise surprise - Scott Brown is currently favored to win Kerry's Senate seat. Ugh. http://www.boston.com/metrodesk/2012/12/20/senator-scott-brown-leads-democrats-new-poll-special-election-were-held-today/68XOg0uZMBoUNWM2hEFd5L/story.html
  5. She did seem a little ashamed but not by some standards. I think she was on for about a year and a half, or two years, so she wasn't far off. Here's the 2000 Christmas episode, which had worthless characters but wasn't too bad compared to later ones. I think this is the year Penny and Lyla came back, for the last time.
  6. You can see a little clip of the first Jim, I think, in some 1965 or 1966 GL clips that are on Youtube. Both roles were recast, but mostly they were just friends, I guess of Leslie or Ed. 1992 Christmas episodes. End of an era.
  7. Thanks to saynotoursoap. I had taken breaks from ATWT at this point so I'd never seen this. While this episode reminded me of why (Lily/Holden - ugh; Linc murder - dull and depressing), it was wonderful to see so many favorites. I had no idea they'd brought Lyla back for this Christmas, and it's great to see Bianca too. Lucinda with the leather jacket is priceless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdDdocMMQHI
  8. There was some stuff at TWOP which talked about whether AMC might make the zombies CGI now (this was just speculation). I hope that won't happen. Some comments also mentioned how Mazzarra kept Darabont's promise to make the show seem like a 70s zombie film. I think that's one of the reasons the show is a hit - Dawn of the Dead is a timeless film, and even if this isn't Dawn of the Dead, I think people crave that type of product. Maureen Ryan talked a little about all of this too. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/maureen-ryan/the-walking-dead-showrunn_b_2347575.html?utm_hp_ref=entertainment&ir=Entertainment
  9. We may have. I think I posted clips in one, although the clips aren't on Youtube anymore, as far as I know.
  10. From saynotoursoap. Very rare to find this show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o6ja6aE0_k
  11. That also would have been around the time of Mona's death, which would have added more drama.
  12. Thanks for letting us know about the update.
  13. The story was so unbearably depressing. I think the show did this to explain why she kidnapped Maddie, but none of this, this or the kidnapping, was ever needed. There was a lot of backlash at the time, but I've always wondered how much was fan anger at Erica and how much was just distaste over the storyline and the regression (if you can even call it a regression, as Erica didn't do anything like this in her wilder years).
  14. This Victoria/Jack scene is so beautifully written and acted. Back when I cared. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFNnRjz8Ee8
  15. It's nice that Todd cared for a split second, but generally I think the rape joke that is Connie and the way Todd behaves with her is more of a slap in the face to Viki, along with that book.
  16. That's true. I mostly meant I'm surprised AMC hasn't found a way. They seem to run people off as quickly as possible, aside from Weiner. I do wonder what this will mean for the show. I think it's nice how some of the characters like Carol and Maggie were allowed to develop. I hope that won't change. I think Mazarra was the one who wanted Judith to be alive so I wonder what will happen there.
  17. I also wonder if this is about how closely they should follow the comic, or not follow it. I'm a little surprised Kirkman is still involved. I see some "Glen ran off Frank Darabont!" comments on that article, but making my way through the first season, I don't know if Darabont would have lasted anyway, as I don't think he was all that great at some of the basics of individual TV episodes (especially dialogue and pacing).
  18. It doesn't make very much sense. I guess they keep funneling that money into prestige projects and see TWD as trash. I've had no respect for AMC, not since they got rid of shows like Remember WENN and moved away from good movies, and it took time for me to even want to watch this. I wonder if this is also down to those groups like PTC demanding the show go to TV-MA if they don't tone down the violence.
  19. Melador, Blair's company, is mentioned just to say it's trash. Natalie and Clint are mentioned just to be run through the mud. Todd's family is only mentioned in the context of not forgiving him (even though Viki forgave far worse than "killing" Frodd). Renee is mentioned just for her madame past. Viki's DID is turned into a joke because of a book Kate is reading. He makes everything seamy and dirty.
  20. Most of the OLTL mentions or uses on GH seem so cheap and crass to me. Much like Carlivati's writing in general.
  21. 4 more "random" clip sets, which means side stories and characters not necessarily in the Clint/Viki story.
  22. Enjoyed this. It's another prequel.
  23. RIP Sen. Daniel Inouye, war hero, Hawaii's first Congressman, a senator since 1962. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/18/us/daniel-inouye-hawaiis-quiet-voice-of-conscience-in-senate-dies-at-88.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
  24. Tim Scott will be SC's new senator. http://www.politico.com/story/2012/12/tim-scott-to-succeed-demint-in-senate-85169.html?ml=po_r While I can't deny the symbolic power of a black senator in a state like South Carolina (I have my share of history with the state so I'm not saying that just as some type of elitism), I dread the stories which will tell us about how the Republicans now love minorities and how Scott will likely be used to sell hardcore social and fiscal conservatism.
