Since it was mentioned again today, I have to ask. Is Consquences a real show and, if so, do you watch it? I want to know more.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
That was one of the worst written soap funerals I've ever seen. The only good thing was Robert's arrival and even that was marred by clunky dialogue trying to be clever.

I loved that write-up. The dad part gave me pause. It made me think of when OLTL at Eddie Alderson's Matthew crushing on Starr Manning, played by his real life sister, Kristen Alderson. It's also another family connection like we were talking about a few pages back. Except for Waverly, I don't think about any of those other characters either. Except for Li-Mei Chen. Wasn't she much derided for being too stereotypical? On another note, I will miss KJ Apa and except great things for him. He was very good looking and is talent for days. I hope he becomes one of those people I can say "I remember when" one day. However, his exit just adds to the irrelevancy of the Coopers.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I managed to see the new Summer promo on YouTube about the upcoming disaster/stunt using HOLA, a VPN. It doesn't give away what the disaster is, but everyone is in black going to some sort of festival/circus type thing. Suprisingly, Andy and Chas are not in the promo, but we know they are involved becasue the director has mentioned them on Twitter. Everyone looks fantastic, which is a marked improvement over the last one that had them dressed like clowns, ironically enough. Chas and Andy aside, it does seem like those who aren't in the promo have a better chance at dying. This seemed most obvious because they randomly included Dan and Ruby in the trailer, but no Ali. Unfortunately, our girl Leyla is not in it, but David and Alicia are which adds to the fears that she may die. Since Priya/Rakesh/Kirin are involved, I'm thinking that Vanessa will probably lose the baby. On a better note, Marlon isn't in the promo so maybe I will get my wish that he'll meet his maker. Sorry (not really) for being relentless in my hate, but sometimes you just can't help these things.

He stopped it eventually, so all is well! And yes, it was just to Paddy. I wish Marlon would get in his way ...

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Colour me blind, but except for the show trying to stupidly tease us into thinking Robert might kill again, I have loved everything about this story. Actually, the almost killing Chas bit never bothered me at all. I bought that he would contemplate that as an option. I want him to go one step farther, two steps back. The journey of him dialling back from his amped up, clouded emotions and judgments is fascinating to me. Still, I am dreading tomorrow. I can only hope they don't go too far with him. I can only hope they keep him as a balancing act and not have him fall down too dark a hole. This disaster has me scared for the worst and excited for greatness all at the same time. It's a waiting game caring about the integrity of the Robert character. A nail biting, anxious, nerve wracking waiting game. As for today in particular, I thought it was a great episode. For someone like Chas, it's agonizingly clear that she excels exponetially when away from the Dingles. It gives me joy to love her as mother and friend Chas, but make her spout Dingle speak and it pains me greatly. Lesley Dunlop always delivers when she's given something to do. Given that she's been mentioned as having visited T.J. in the past, I hope they bring him back in a few years time. Another actress I have found myself fond of is Denise Black. If he shockingly manages to make it out of the upcoming disaster alive (yeah right!), she would be an asset to the show. Was she popular on Corrie? Did you like her there, Carl?

Kate Ford impressed me tonight. The rest of this and next week should be good.

Twinnie Moore is way too good for this show. She's batting a thousand, while everyone else is tut-tutting all over the place. The worst is Diane Langton. I can handle bad acting from younger people, especially on this show, because they're usually finding their feet, but there are no excuses for her constant horribleness. Trading Myra in for her is one of the most senseless mistakes I've ever had to experience. I will say the one on one scenes with Pete and Cleo are well done and are the strength of this story so far.

Carl, I hate what this regime has done to Jean. Of all his character regressions, Jean has been the worst. By the time she originally left, she was no longer so manic and crazy eyed. She became a full person and less of a I HAVE BIPOLAR! monster that she's shown as being now.

Lee's depression, as much as I will try to give it a chance, can't help but add to DTC's obsession at throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the Carters. However, Nancy has been much more tolerable with Mick and Linda as second stringers.

I know exactly what Sarah moment you're talking about. There's a Shorty death montage video on YouTube that I've watched a billion times that includes it. It's at 3:28 if you want to relive the moment. For the few years I've been watching Sarah, more than most, had her moments unlikable moments. That's why one of my favourite scenes is during the Seth takeover/Rachel's pill popping s/l where Rachel yells at Sarah that she couldn't run a corner dairy let alone a hospital. I squealed. And still, as difficult as she could be, her shock death still hit me like a ton of bricks. That's amusing about Chris and Rachel originally being somewhat estranged as characters before they're brought together during their returns. I had an inkling something like that occurred due to Rachel being one of the younger characters when she came on and Chris being very busy with others, elsewhere. Also, is it wrong that I love the lyrical version of the Shorty theme?

One thing I like about TK, however, is his and Boyd's animosity going strong, stemming from all that happened with Ava. I hope they don't ever become true friends. I find it to be a fascinating dynamic when two good characters dislike each other and neither is always in the wrong or always in the right. On another note, it's great how seamless Harper is at hanging out with people in the big leagues (Chris, Rachel, Boyd) while also being able to be friends with Nicole or Kylie and have it not seem forced. If either if those three in brackets suddenly started hanging out with "the club kids" without it being some group get together, it would be awkward AF (as f*ck!). That she's achieved this with only being on the show a couple years without it ever feeling like she eats the show, is a testament to the writing and the actress. I thought of you when the Hannahs moved into TK's house. How long has what is now Lucy's apartment set been around?

Like Kat, Stacey's return has been one big lifeless fail. Kush and Shabnam were interesting enough, together and individually, without this triangle nonsense.

I saw that with Caleb since the episodes I watch usually have a promo following them. I wonder if TK will suffer any consequences for being so blind to Pania's machinations. Either way, I love that a true schemer is out in full force. It'll be interesting to see how far they go with her. Do you know when both actors are set to debut? If soon, I'm going to guess Margaret is going to appear in one of the fabulous one hour Monday episodes. The actor playing Drew looks pretty hot, but that's nothing new with this show.

It really is a shame. I thought her last EE stint was fantastic for her and her character. Of course, it was the first time I have ever experienced her, but I thought it was cool that she wanted Ricky and couldn't care less about Jack. Is it wrong that I like to fanwank that they have reunited now? Before Bianca, what was the writing like for them as a couple? I still remember Heather practically begging her to leave Minty alone and you could see she wasn't trying to be mean, but at the same time was honest with Heather about her intentions. It showed she had a heart and self-awareness, but it didn't stop her from being selfish. Plus, that story was the first true build-up to my girl Ronnie going off the rails. Anyway, Kirkwood seemed to truly adore her as well, hence her HO role. I was wondering what he would have done with her this time around, too. The only people that really interacted with her before were Trevor, Jacqui and Theresa.

I was going to mention the same thing about Wendy. My memory was only triggered a bit once Wendy mentioned Evan finding out and having a problem with it. Either way, I really do feel like it's time Murray and Wendy are written out. Maybe it's because I've never been as invested in them as the show wants me to be, but their stories always feel a little forced to me with it comes to their relationship woes. Time to have Dana run the bar on her own and move in with Lucy, where I'm sure Alex may be moving into shortly since Kylie is no longer there. Is it weird that I kind of love the musical chairs living arrangements? It fascinates me. I agree with you about Nicole actually being scammed. This isn't a flashy story (none of the stories on the show are at the moment), but I'm really enjoying all the beats they're taking with it. Knowing how this show likes to bring in minor villains, like the girl last year who held Rachel hostage in an elevator, I can't help but think the same will be true of Alex's boyfriend. He'll do some more damage at some point. Mo and Victoria will get together and just when they do, a surprise return of his wife will certainly happen! I'm all in.

Nicole's story is so heartbreaking. Now she might have schizophrenia like her brother? Poor thing can't catch a break. Speaking of mental issues, last week it almost seemed to me that Victoria could be headed for a breakdown. She didn't seem all there, especially with her making a move on Mo and being rejected. I also wonder if they plan to keep Caleb around now that he and Pania are over. He seems more like an afterthought, so maybe he'll die at the end of the winter season or at the end of the year.

It's too bad I can't get too invested in Nick/Carla, with Alison King's exit. They work well together. I just pray they don't reunite Nick with Leanne because of it.

Crossing every body part I can, hoping for the best. Thanks for uploading all that Emmerdale stuff Carl. It's on the list of things to get to, one day. If this marriage with Adam and Victoria actually goes through, I hope it's one of many, many weddings in my girl Victoria's future. Robert so giddily pressuring Cain, as he outwardly seethes is just fun. It would fun if, once Robert loses everything, he schemes to own the garage. Back to his roots, as it were. If Charity can have nine lives, I really hope they see that they could easily and should do that for Robert.
