Shortland Street
Goodbye to Ula Levi (Frankie Adams) and Cameron Jones (Dallas Jones). I will miss you both, but am happy you ended up together in the end. The fact that Ula started out as some horrible bratty teenager and was truly allowed to evolve into an adult woman says it all about the wonderful writing of Shortland Street.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Tonight was a great episode. One of the few times a character went straight to the police after a sexual assault and told their significant other what happened right away. Natalie Anderson was great and the boy that plays Lachlan is one creepy bastard. I really can't wait to see how this unfolds for David/Alicia and the Whites. I loved the moment where Leyla pushed David against the wall to stop him from going after Lachlan. And the difference between Alicia naivete/trusting nature vs. Priya's on point analysis of Lachlan was a startling contrast due to their history.

I can't lose hope. As long as the invisible Cathy and Heath are locked away in the village, a return could still be possible.

Thanks for posting that, Carl. He still looks great, from what I can see. If they are reunited on DW, though sci-fi has never been my thing, I hope you'll remind me. I'm happy to see he's getting work, any road.

I wonder what they'll do with Jimmy, if anything, while Nicola is gone. He has no strong relationships with anyone else in the village.

Oh ... thanks for not taking the piss out of me then. As you were. I'm pretty sure you just broke my heart. Darren is my favourite.

Sincere? He was a huge, selfish, deluded phony. I hate Kirkwood's kill what may attitude, but this show lost nothing when they got rid of him. Sam could have been good, but they wrote her as being ridiculously weak and the actress was nowhere near good enough to pull it off.

In the UK, the age of consent is 16. Harry is 15, the actor is 23 this year. Why would you be surprised that Darren made you laugh? ATD can do anything. One of the most underrated actors in soap.

The way Kelli Hollis is wasted on ED this show has always infuriated me. When Ruby left her it should have been permanent so that they could that Ali a new stronger, no holds barred direction.

I don't see why they had to cover it up. Kids on tv are horrible anyway, so why not send him to juvie until he's 18 or so and then bring him back, trying to acclimate to a normal life again and all the story beats that can be played from that.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I really like Jenny Bradley so far and she's succeeding in making Kevin relevant again. On a surprising front, this Faye pregnancy story is so far being told quite well. The actress who plays Faye is doing a great job. Owen can't go soon enough for me. It's a head scratcher why they think keeping Izzy around is at all necessary. She is the worst succubus on the show. It sucks that they had to break up Jason and Eva for her to go on maternity leave soon. I really think it would have been a good time for her to become pregnant with his kid, especially with Sarah and Bethany returning. Speaking of maternity leave, actors in soapdom are getting pregnant all over the place lately. In recent memory, there's been Fiz, Kylie and Eva from Corrie. ED has Nicola, Charity and Adam had a short paternity leave, and EE has Lauren. I wonder who will be next?

It sounds like it might have happened, but with me watching 5 soaps I can't really remember to be honest. Who was the last alcoholic in the village anyway? All I can think of is Miles de Souza, because on DS when Callaghan debuted on Hollyoaks his hilarious Miles de Bouza nickname always stuck with me, but that was before my time.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I am loving every step of Laurel on the sauce. I actually like and care about her again. As has been mentioned here, it just feels like complete validation and karma as an Ashley fan that her and Marlon's life is becoming a complete hole. As you can probably guess, Charlotte Bellamy is playing the hell out of it. The scene last year where she kissed Ashley on her wedding day and he gracefully rejected her was one of the most cathartic scenes I ever witnessed after a character assassination. And today was especially great with her becoming a bit vicious before running out of the factory. The only thing I fear is Marlon, of course. I won't be able to take his reaction, which he'll no doubt make all about him. And with Nicola going on maternity leave soon, she's probably going to feel utterly alone.
