ARTICLE: Joshua Morrow to Fans After CBS Renewed ‘The Young and the Restless’ For Four More Seasons: “We Love You”
Marking a return to social media for the first time since 2022, “The Young and the Restless” star Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman) is thrilled over the daytime drama series receiving a pickup of four seasons from CBS. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Morrow thanked the fans for watching, crediting them for the show’s longevity. In a tweet, he shared, “Show was picked up for 4 more years……Its all because of you fans. We are and will always be eternally grateful for your incredible support! We love you.” He ended the post with a “happy face” emoticon. Also celebrating the show’s pickup was on-screen father, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), who posted a video from the parking lot of the show’s Television City-based studio, wherein he also thanked the fans, saying, “I’m very happy to hear about the four-year renewal. I really am because in today’s world, you can’t take anything for granted and in the changing world of media, seemingly nothing is prominent, but we are here. “The Young and the Restless” was picked up by CBS on Tuesday for an additional four seasons, which will keep it on the network through at least the 2027-2028 TV season, or what will be the show’s 55th anniversary season. Speaking of anniversaries, Morrow celebrates 30 consecutive years as Nicholas Newman on “The Young and the Restless.” He made his debut on the series on __. Earlier this month, Morrow celebrated his 50th birthday. It was recently reported that Morrow is in the process of selling his Los Angeles home for a cool $5.25 million. The 1.21-acre property boasts a 6-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom multi-story home located in the guard-gated North Ranch Country Club Estates in Westlake, CA, part of Ventura County, with amenities including a private pool, 24-hour security, gated community with guard, double door entry and public sewer, among other items. ARTICLE: REPORT: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ To Remain on CBS Through 2024-2025 TV Season
To be clear, B&B didn't get "renewed" in the sense that CBS said let's negotiate a new deal in 2024. No, what happened was CBS negotiated a two year deal in 2022, but added on an option to extend it to three years if it so chose. The article above indicates CBS is looking to exercise that option. So, technically, it is "renewed" through 2024-2025. But it will still undergo negotiations in the next couple of months before it's officially renewed in the traditional sense for a period beyond next season (season 38 for the show).

ARTICLE: Untitled Tony and Ziva ‘NCIS’ Spinoff Ordered at Paramount+ with Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly Reprising Roles
Paramount+ announced today that it has given a 10-episode series order for an untitled “NCIS” spinoff centered on the beloved characters Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, with Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly (“Loving”) reprising the iconic roles. Slated to begin production later this year, the all-new series reunites de Pablo and Weatherly on screen for the first time in 10 years. The two also will serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara (“Trumbo,” “The Magicians”), who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals will also executive produce. Following Ziva’s supposed death, Tony left the NCIS team to raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in the new Paramount+ original series – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after. In a recent episode of “NCIS,” Weatherly reprised his role as Tony DiNozzo to help celebrate the life of actor David McCallum, who portrayed Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard on the series for 20 seasons. “We’ve been talking about this story for many years, and now with John McNamara at the helm, we are ready,” said Weatherly and de Pablo in a joint statement. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter. We also want to acknowledge and thank the fans from around the world who supported the ‘TIVA’ movement for years. To this day, they say hello in grocery stores and on the street to tell us how much these characters mean to them and ask what Tony and Ziva are up to now. This is for you!” “I’m incredibly excited to step into the NCIS universe with Cote and Michael and thrilled to explore it from a few new angles,” said showrunner and executive producer John McNamara. “Given that the franchise is such a global sensation, I think it’s phenomenal that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have given us the greenlight to shoot in Europe. As to the title of this series, if I told you what it is, I’d be violating the Espionage Act.” The “NCIS” brand remains the world’s most successful television franchise. In fact, during the 2022-2023 TV season, it’s estimated that the franchise had more than 300 million worldwide viewers across all platforms, including broadcast, cable, streaming and syndication (according to Nielsen and internal data). Since the launch of Paramount+, the “NCIS” Franchise has ranked consistently among the top five franchises on the service in terms of hours consumed. In spring 2024, the “NCIS” franchise will collectively celebrate 1,000 episodes. The Tony and Ziva-led untitled spinoff is produced by CBS Studios and executive produced by John McNamara, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. ARTICLE: Kimberlin Brown Open to Joining Another Soap After Exit from ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’
After more than 30 years portraying Sheila Carter on both “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” actress Kimberlin Brown saw her villainess character meet her maker earlier this week when Sheila was stabbed to death by daughter-in-law Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). In an all-new exit interview with TV Insider, Brown reveals that she’s open to returning to daytime in another role, whether on her former soaps as a new character or even a new role on “Days of our Lives” or “General Hospital.” “I would absolutely be open to a daytime return,” declared Brown in an interview with soap columnist Stephanie Sloane. “This is my happy place. This is where I have really been thriving the last couple of years. It took me 62 years to find myself and I finally found myself and this is what makes me happy.” As for her feelings about her iconic character being killed off, Brown notes it was an “amazing moment” when she got the call from the show’s head writer and executive producer Brad Bell about reprising the role of Sheila in 2021, saying, “I never take anything for granted with my character because she has been that character who is in and out of storyline — here a year, gone a year, here two years, gone three, that sort of thing. As much as I love playing my part, I never really have that security that a lot of other actors have on the show, especially if you’re playing a good girl, so getting that phone call to come back was phenomenal.” Kimberlin Brown, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Howard Wise/JPI Studios While she probably wouldn’t have wanted to see the character killed off, Brown shares that she’s going to stay positive about everything, especially since she’s seen others taking the exit of their character in a not so positive light in the past. “I tried my best to be lighthearted about it,” she states. “I’ve seen people before when they exit, and they’re very angry. I can’t be angry because I’ve been so blessed to play my character as long as I have.” Meanwhile, for those questioning whether Sheila’s truly dead this time, Brown says that when tuning into the air shows, “This one might be tough to come back from.” To read more about what Brown says about her exit from “The Bold and the Beautiful,” click here. - ARTICLE: REPORT: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ To Remain on CBS Through 2024-2025 TV Season
Following today’s announcement that CBS has renewed “The Young and the Restless” for four additional seasons, which will take the show through its 55th season and keep it on the air through at least the 2027-2028 TV season, many have wondered what that meant for sister soap “The Bold and the Beautiful.” It turns out the show will also continue, albeit for at least one additional season. According to a report by TV Line, during the half-hour soap’s last renewal order, CBS included an additional option year, which means that when the network ordered two additional seasons back in March 2022, it also had the option to extend that order to a third season. TV Line notes via a CBS insider that the network “will” exercise that option, which means the show will continue through at least the 2024-2025 TV season and makes a formal renewal announcement a moot point. TV Line’s report also notes that before today’s renewal announcement for “The Young and the Restless,” the current CBS renewals for its two soaps run through May 2024. With ABC making behind-the-scenes changes at “General Hospital,” which will kick off its 62nd season in April, and the networks’ president recently saying they were “deeply committed” to the show, plus with “Days of our Lives” renewed through its 60th season at Peacock, it’s safe to say that the four remaining daytime drama series will continue to live on for at least another year. “Days of our Lives” is contracted at Peacock through September 2025. “General Hospital” doesn’t officially receive renewal orders at ABC as the network owns the series outright. Like “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Good Morning America,” and “This Week,” the shows are all network-owned and continue to air until the network decides not to continue with them.
