WOW - it happened: percentage-wise B&B has more male viewers than any other soap opera. And this week the number of male viewers was even bigger than their women 18-49 share... Very interesting!

Not sure if this has been mentioned, if so just skip over this...

According to Michael Logan, the resident soap columnist for "TV Guide" reports in the current issue (May 15) that one topic of discussion at the recent Daytime Emmy Awards after-parties was the rumor (or "considerable chatter" as Mr. Logan calls it) that NBC wants to exit the daytime arena permanently.

With both "Days" and "Passions" struggling in the ratings, it is no longer an impossible scenario to see NBC drop its soap line-up.

Just my own opinion on the subject...

The management of NBC (Kevin Reilly and Jeff Zucker) are solely to blame for the networks recent (primetime) fall from grace. The network that once regularly beat its competition is now struggling against CBS, Fox, and finds itself neck-and-neck with ABC - which is still attempting to rebuild from too much "Millionaire" years ago.

If NBC does dump its daytime dramas, it will only be the latest stupid mistake by Reilly and Zucker (moreso Mr. Zucker since Reilly is only responsible for primetime) whose entire NBC tenures have been marked by stupid mistakes.
