Like I said I don't care much about TJ/Molly, but the show pretends that relationship never existed.

Frank Valentini is only too happy to pretend that Molly's relationship with a person of color was just a figment of our collective imagination.

Honestly, there are times when I wonder why POC still love the soaps when it's obvious the soaps do not love us back.

I mean GH certainly doesn't cater to POC at all and never has. Maybe briefly with the Wards?

To be honest though I don't even remember anyone mentioning Molly and TJ were in an interracial relationship on the show. We mostly heard about Molly being scared of marriage.

And that's ridiculous, because, even in 2026, a Caucasian woman and an African-American man who are in a romantic relationship are bound to encounter SOME issues stemming from the differences in their ethnicities. Pretending otherwise is unrealistic and insulting.

I am not defending the show because you are correct, but TJ/Molly barely got any focus period. They mostly existed off screen.

Yes they did, to the point their former "apartment" was repurposed for where Emma and Gio stayed while in NYC. 🤣

Forgive me. That was in the anyone can play Molly recast era so I have forgotten.

That part. I love to watch and binge the canceled soaps, but it's so glaring the lack of commitment to Black/POC stories and perspectives. I will never forgive Y&R for how they kneecapped Devon and Hilary, the second Black supercouple after Angie and Jesse.

But anyway...

I co-sign everything said about Becky/Liz and the lack of care to her character. The writers and powers that be have a seething and lingering resentment that they need to show any courtesy to her character. She's a legacy character and her kids are Spencer/Quartermaine. None of that registers because GH just doesn't care about Liz, not even for lip service. But I don't mind an actress collecting a check. It's why I just accept Maura West doing the same. I like Liz and Ava, but neither matters in the grand scheme of things. (I agreed with the criticisms about Ava/MW in the April discussion thread but didn't want to bump it since we're now in May).

🤭

Shame on me! Not when Dru/Neil/Olivia/Malcolm got me interested in Y&R. Huge oversight on my part, since Neil/Dru carried the torch for so long.
