The Lucy Show went through a lot of changes over the course of it's run but still finished at #2 for it's final season.

Lucy would hum and ha every year as to whether she would continue. And then she would decide to stay once CBS offered more money.

I have to admit the celebrity episodes were usually my least favourites.

Lucy would be starstruck each time, even though she had met most of Hollywood, and the scripts were often paper thin, resulting in Lucy and said guest star singing and dancing for what seemed like half the show.

I'll let you and everyone else in on a little secret: I've never loved Lucy. I respect her as an actress and as a television pioneer; however, all her shows, including ILL, have always set my teeth on edge.

Even when I was a child, before I had discovered "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" in my sixth grade year, and I was just watching one mindless sitcom and drama show after another, I never sat through an entire episode of Lucy, because I just couldn't believe that anyone could be that looney tunes.

Wow - that is interesting! I haven't met someone with this take on Lucy (especially ILL), but I get and respect it :)

I loved ILL, but the later years, specifically when they moved, weren't that good.

What came after ILL was not as good either, but I still watched.
