The Box of Shame

A funny topic idea I just got... A place where we can share moments where we embarrassed ourselves... did something foolish or stupid without realizing or being able to control ourselves... Something to light up the mood. We are all human after all.  

Let me start with what I did just yesterday.

I saw this woman I hadn't seen for a long time coming towards me on the sidewalk... Get this... I didn't know she had some kind of dental fake-teeth procedure done... You know how these people make their teeth look SUPER fake... so white... that it looks absurd. Veneers. I think that's what it's called. I've never even had a cavity in my life, so I don't know anything about these things and don't care. (Lucky genes)  So I see her and she comes near me... but I don't and can't expect... what I'll see when she opens her mouth and smiles at me with these huge white scary teeth - the doctor that did them must be really inexperienced... or psychotic. So she... smiles... and I burst into uncontrollable laugh... that completely shocked her. I tried to control myself... but couldn't for some reason. I realized how rude I was acting... but just couldn't stop laughing... And of course tried to lie about a reason of why I was laughing... but she quickly got what was happening... and closed that scary smile. A box of shame moment for sure.

[Maxim]

Today I forgot my wallet at home when I went to the supermarket... Checked everything into a huge bag... and when it was time to pay... My soul sank when I realized I had not taken my wallet with me. Never happened to me before... the shame of having people watch me Say I'm sorry, I have forgotten my wallet! And go out and back to the apartment. Thank God the girl-cashier was so polite and offered to keep my bag waiting for me. But I did get couple of judgmental stares! LOL. I went back and ran to BUY all the things I had. I managed to do all of it successfully... but not without feeling like I need a box of shame for a bit.
