This week, a year ago: I physically want to get that dadgummed stuffed animal, Valiant is his name, & Krissy brought him to her & tear him into ity bitty shreds & then burn them! I refuse to believe Alexis treated it as if it were a real horse & fed it. Nope, not in my Alexicon!

Oh, I don't think Mansi is mediocre at all either.  I think the pairing was.  I even remember liking Blaze/JGL in that stupid Chase/Brook Lynn/shady manager guy story.  Unfortunately, she wasn't ready to be thrust into an A story.

It's been an entire year since OldMolly talked to that stuffed horse for several episodes?  I don't know what's worse the horse or the fact the surrogacy story has gone on this long.

Exactly. Mansi carried Lopez and a good portion of the show, as you stated in your post. Lopez was a cute dayplayer with a role that came in for a very storyline-specific part. And while I appreciate Valentini/the head writing team(s) for giving her a second chance at something new, she did fumble at it. And it did not work as a story.

This has been known... for a few weeks... but thanks?

It's futile because one will not change their POV and realize other POV's may or may not exist, especially when the bulk of those POV's don't support your one-sided one that you refuse to budge from.

Natalia & Olivia do not compare, in any way shape or form, to Allison (a.k.a. Blaze) & Kristina, other than they're two female-relationships. But both held different stakes and life experiences ⏤ which, had it been written differently ⏤ could have been a solid storyline for the latter couple. However, it did not.

As a gay man, it's so insulting that this couple, which really did not do much (much like another fan-favourite "couple") and they're hailed as untouchable and unstoppable. They were barely a match. The relationship did not work and was not going to work, especially when the homophobic mother is played as a victim (BY the semi-Legacy character) and is focused on over the character whose POV we actually care about.

Their "love story" was not unbreakable, it was not groundbreaking and it wasn't history-making. At all.

From the wiki: Following former actress Haley Pullos healing from a car accident, details of the accident came out upon Haley's arrest for DUI. A temp was cast from May-July 14; Brooke Anne Smith permanently took over the role from July 19-September 25, 2023; and Vaganos took over the role on September 27, 2023.

No, it's not William Henry, Benjamin, or George. Just to set the record straight (the answer isn't terribly obscure), Sapounopera, like many of us, may have been dealing with 20 things at once, typing in "Michael" instead of "Gregory."

AH! Makes all the difference & Gregory, both the character & the actor were set to die & thereby be removed from the cast from the beginning of his storyline. He was not part of any "reset" & has no effect at all on what seemed to be an abrupt departure from the LGBTQ+ couple. People all over are saying & have now for days who they would've cut BEFORE cutting JGL.As GH fans, this is nothing new. We probably all have 12-15 people we would "trim" from this cast.

Thanks for clarifying.

Jagger arresting Kristina while she’s checking out of the hospital was nasty work, my goodness. So was Scotty leaving the pharm doc with Jason, glad we got the reveal of Valentine’s involvement with the med swap.

Molly and TJ were once again the standouts for me this episode. Loved their scenes trying to finalize details for the baby and TJ confronting her for using work to avoid helping. Molly’s scenes with Alexis confronting her for always putting Kristina first and TJ asking Ava about the hotel incident were really good too.

The Brennan/Laura/Anna scenes were fun, love that Brennan is trolling Anna for helping Valentine run off with Laura’s grandbaby. Wasn’t expecting the Lulu cliffhanger, I wonder if they already cast an actress and have her gearing up to air soon.

The Scorpio/Jones gang I really hope they fire Sasha and Cody next.

The highlights from this past week were definitely the stories centered around

  • Cody & the extended Scorpio family with that cute kid James.  Plus Tracy/Cody is always a delight!
  • Drew & everybody.  Nice to see Cameron Matthison back to his old self, exuding chemistry with both Nina and Willow!
  • John Brennan & Anna.  This is could be a much better dynamic than Anna & Valentine if they play it right!

I'm glad they've gotten rid of some dead-weight characters, but they could definitely trim some more.  I'm glad they ditched the daughter Blaze, and the Deception scenes could be fun, but if they were going to insist on Eva LaRue being on GH, they should have brought Dr. Maria Santos on to push out Portia from GH.

Nice to see Scotty, Lucy, Laura, Tracy, Felicia, Mac as always.  Maxie is great, too.

Otalia had one major thing going for it- Crystal Chappel is one of those actors on soaps that has always had real intensity, and chemistry with pretty much every romantic partner. She also knows how to turn nothing into something by playing with it, a skill soap actors used to have. Mansi, and I liked her on DAYS and GH, does not have that passion, that sense of longing.

She was perfectly cast as Jennifer’s daughter, she plays banter, determination, and conflict well. Intensity and passion are not her biggest draws IMO.

I think what we can all agree on is there is an audience out there hungry for LGBTQ couples. This genre has always been served well by people falling in and out of love, and as flawed and afterthought Blaze and Kristina was, people do want to watch that. Even in mediocre form. The shows should learn the lesson to dip back into romance and not be afraid of same sex couples!

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
