These ads that rise up from the bottom to a bit above a quarter page

These ads regularly interrupt my typing of a post. Often they cause me to have to rewrite a sentence or two. I frankly do not understand why SON wants to allow such intrusive ads. Is this them working as they are meant to? If so, I want to on record as hating them. Thanks for your time & attention.

Ads pay the bills. We do not get to dictate how they look or how they interact with the website because we do not control which advertiser advertises on the site at any given moment. Just like every other reputable website on the internet, ads are placed on sites through bids. Whichever ad pays the most is the one shown to visitors. How much of the page they take up depends on the ad itself. In many cases, the "intrusive" ads you refer to pay the most.

The SON Community is one of the few message boards that can show premium ads. Since no one else is willing to cover the costs of maintaining the community, things will remain the same.

Today I had one that came up from the bottom & then bordered on both the left & the right & then all of a sudden it also dropped down from the top!!!! Unfreakingbelievable!!!!
