For me, Ainsworth grated for me in the role. I found it so annoying whenever she appeared. Again, this is during her first stint in the role. Her return was a different story... she felt more comfortable in the role, and it worked better from my POV. And Erik Valdez was a solid hire in a less-than solid role, and Trey should be forgotten completely. Along with Parker.

I really wish these shows wouldn’t cave into actor preferences if it does a disservice to the actual characters they’re supposed to play. They’re actors - love scenes are very technical and you’re not cheating on your real life spouse.

Also, while AS is an observant Jew, BLQ is not. Perhaps if you’re an actor, it doesn’t serve you well to portray characters that go against your personal belief system - unless, of course, you can better separate these two aspects of your life and realize that one is just a job and has no bearing on your personal beliefs.

Very well said.

But, about Kristina & why they are doing this. They are doing it for the overarching story elements. 1. Some people had to at least start out on Sonny's side. 2. Krissy has long been a "Daddy's girl" so she was an obvious choice. As it is, Sonny's side only had Ava, Dante & Krissy.

And on TwiX there's this dedicated group of ChaLynn fans & they are posting ALL these GIFs and ALL these Edits showing what they perceive to be this Grand Romance. And, also getting onto people who express the opinion that they should get other jobs if they feel this way. I am not amused.

I can see that.  She was pretty obnoxious.  I just thought she was perfect for Sonny's bratty daughter.

I do think Mansi is great though and absolutely love what she is doing with the role even if I didn't like yesterday's take in particular.

I think it's more AS than JS.  JS was fine doing love scenes with Willow.  I think Josh is just respecting his co stars choice and beliefs.  Which is nice, I suppose.

That's what I love about classic movies: a simple look or touch can express more passion between two people than a dozen hot-and-heavy love scenes.  But, like you've suggested, it only works when the couple in question has genuine heat between them.

    • Shut up, Dante and Lois.  I actually don't mind this particular soap trope, but in the context of this storyline, it just feels forced and unnecessary. If anything, this Dante/Gio tension needed to begin months ago. Plus, this storyline, in general, isn't doing Lois any favors either.  Emma comforting Gio was really sweet though. It's definitely time for the two of them to have their first kiss. And, Joss playing Secret Agent Barbie will just never work.
    • Note to makeup - Smitty’s eyebrows, bad clamshell look.

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria's attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
