Webmaster Errol Posted February 24, 2024 Webmaster Share Posted February 24, 2024 Fans of “The Wendy Williams Experience” and “The Wendy Williams Show” will get to see Wendy Williams as her own Hot Topic in the highly anticipated documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” airing Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25 on Lifetime despite legal requests to halt the airing. Earlier this week, Appellate Justice Peter Moulton granted Lifetime the right to air its documentary, stating it would be “impermissible prior restraint on speech that violates the First Amendment of the Constitution” after Sabrina Morrissey, “acting in her capacity as Temporary Guardian of W.W.H. [Wendy Williams Hunter]” filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court seeking injunctive relief, Deadline reported. Following the court’s decision, Williams issued a statement about her health struggles, including the recent announcement that she had been diagnosed with Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), the same form of dementia Bruce Willis had been diagnosed with. Wendy Williams Calvin Gayle/Lifetime “I want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming,” Williams said in a statement released to The Associated Press through a representative for her care team. “The messages shared with me have touched me, reminding me of the power of unity and the need for compassion.” In a statement issued on Thursday, representatives for Williams said, “Wendy would not have received confirmation of these diagnoses were it not for the diligence of her current care team, who she chose, and the extraordinary work of the specialists at Weill Cornell Medicine. Receiving a diagnosis has enabled Wendy to receive the medical care she requires.” As for the documentary, part one airs on Saturday, February 24, from 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT, with part two airing from 8:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, February 25. Cameras chronicled the former television host and radio star over the course of two years, documenting the next phase of her life following the end of her daytime talk show. According to Lifetime, the documentary provides a raw, honest and unfiltered reality of Wendy’s life after she was placed under financial guardianship, shedding light on the vulnerabilities that have turned Wendy into the Hot Topic herself. Suffering mental and physical issues, Wendy’s delicate state of mind, erratic behavior and declining health were all captured by the cameras. “Where is Wendy Williams?” is the story of Wendy’s journey to resurrect her career and what filmmakers discovered along the way. But many questions remain – who truly has Wendy’s best interest at heart? Is she healthy now? And “Where is Wendy Williams?” Watch clips from the documentary below.
