Lol!  Nothing tragic.  Just talk of her getting on weight loss pills.   It's a weird thing to bring up, but I don't think anyone is rooting against Kirsten.  I think everyone wants our soap stars to be healthy and happy and have good hair.

They were definitely popular and spinelli has been a fan favorite since the good old days late 00’s of GH. I get when people don’t like him because of his hyper personality but he is hilarious especially in scenes with Jason back then

I also suspect this swift wrap-up may be the show getting ready to write them out. Honestly I'm fine with that for now. Over half the cast should go.

The one bright side for me with Spencer & Trina is that it was a Black female with a White male, which we often don't see enough of in media. I'd love more inter-racial romance in soaps as an overall movement. Lots that could be done. And you're right: Black couples do deserve it, PERIOD POINT BLANK!!!

I kind of wish the teasing of TJ & Willow had happened more. Speaking of it, Katelyn MacMullen would've been a suitable Molly recast, although, I've grown to really like Kristen Vaganos in the role, and wish we would see more of her. Hoping Patrick Mulcahey fixes this in the coming months.

Donnell Turner & Brook Kerr have very little chemistry; it reminds me of Maura West & Marcus Colmoa: the women are carrying the pairing by having to use their own chemistry to create and compensate for their male co-stars.

We need a revival of the Ward family on the canvas. Hell, even give us Tommy Hardy Jnr, and that would give Elizabeth some kind of familiar connection on the canvas. Something. Anything. Give us SOMETHING!

YUP!

It should ideally be about talent but in the age of social media.....

YUP!

She really does, and I think that's why when Disney-ABC put her on recurring it took her aback and she decided to walk away. She knew the weight she carried on her shoulders and knew she deserved better, so she said "bye" until it was given to her.

I've been calling this for some time, and at this point it'll happen by the end of 2024. Although, I'd love to see them instead focus more on Jake / Aidan than Cameron at this point. Wait until 2025, honestly....

I am, too. It's a no-go for me!

Lotsa good hair on General Hospital lately I will say.

Definitely good hair for sure. lol.

Well...good.

Yeah, I was still regularly viewing somewhat when he first appeared...that was around when Alexis was dealing with cancer if I'm not mistaken. I believe I stopped shortly after. I also believe I saw scenes of him with Georgie when she was alive and thought they were cute so it was a sharp pivot when I turned in later on and him and Maxie had already started. But I definitely was not around to get a feel for their popularity so thank you for confirming.

Also thank you for confirming. That time is such a blur due to being on and off with the show.

KM is at her best when she is being bad a la a vixen.  PC Liv. Sam during the Fan Wars That We Don't Name. Cuz she was THAT girl on PC

I never found her to be bad per se, but she could not have been more disinterested in at least 95% of her material over the years and it showed onscreen.

Im slowly learning the cast bit by bit but there are a [!@#$%^&*] ton of new characters on this show and every day I’m meeting someone new when watching.

Just an aside I have limited exposure to the current Spencer but every time I’ve seen him I’ve found the actor very committed. He’s believable as a Cassadine to me. Moreso than the guy playing Nikolas in these episodes I’m seeing. To be fair my Nikolas viewing has only been limited to Tyler Christopher so it may just be my bias, but I just don’t see or feel Nikolas with this actor.

I think she has checked out many times, and has been almost totally checked out for years with Billy Miller gone. But I do think she woke up for scenes with the new Danny discussing Jason - the other day I somewhat cynically speculated this could be because Kelly is angling to get re-paired with Steve for job security, as she was said to have done a tearful mea culpa to their fanbase at a fan event not long ago over her vocal distaste for the couple vs. Drew/Sam during the Miller years. Whatever happened with Kelly and Big Steve BTS in the year or so before he left happened fast and hard, because after insisting on making us watch them together for the better part of 20 years the show suddenly couldn't end this longtime couple fast enough. I definitely don't want to go back to Jasam - I think Sam is spent tbh and should be off the show, like so many other characters - but we'll see what happens.

As for other topics: Wyndemere being suddenly and somewhat mysteriously sold makes me wonder if it’s a Mulcahey plot point being seeded. He wrote heavily for the Cassadines in the '90s.

There are way too many played out contract characters, and that's not even counting the seemingly endless stream of recurring players who are also on way too much or have way too much story. 50% of the cast you see on any given day, there is a good chance some of them are recurring yet in regular story.

Am I the only one who finds it.... weirdly coincidental that the past two Leap Years of extra episodes have been Van Etten & O'Connor? The first being the beginning of their tenure and the second (and final) being their last? Hmmm.

    • There are no dumb questions here, we've all known each other long enough to fill in information without shaming each other.  We want you to be happy @carolineg.  Your POV as one of the few women here is vital. So, please, I hope you never feel as if any question, idea, or opinion is ever silly or stupid.  Your daily reminders about the realities of manicure and menstrual management has become a part of the personality of this thread. As for Hank, while I'm confident there's a plan in place.  It is frustrating that they announce these casting so far in advance that it is tough as an audience and wait it out until the thing happens.  I'm happy they didn't blow it the second Mike was in town, a week after meeting Liam. So, it is a slow burn.
    • I think his full name is Chadwick.  I remember, back when the previous actor was playing him, someone called him Chadwick a couple of times.  It may have been Stefano.
    • I didn't like those two sleeping together, but I suuure liked seeing BF in them. Wiggle and all. Just sad about the waxing of the chest.   Same.
    • It’s strange. I wonder if the writers at that time had worked with him somewhere else and had a relationship? That time is murky AF to find info on. Rachel Ames in effect left the show at one point in the early 80’s and she is credited like she was there until JFP. Tristan Rogers also took various contract breaks that were not short, and websites also credit him one long stint from 1981-1992. So many people come and go in short succession in 1982-part of 1983. I know they lost a lot of viewers when Genie left, but the show somehow survived yearly at number one through like sheer force of will.
    • In that way, at least we were fortunate.  The Daniel Pilon/Ron Raines decisions...not so much.
    • Letting Brennan put it in yet again while smirking over his shoulder... any day now! She's got him just where she wants him! I do think ol' Jack will be dead by February at the absolute latest. They have set him up as a counter-heavy to Sidwell, forcing poor Joss to work his next scheme or threatening to have her sent down for treason. Once he croaks I still deeply fear we will be subject to Valentin and Carly, partners in crime to lovers, possibly out to find out 'who killed Jack'. Anna was at her best keeping Sonny at arm's length and often somewhat cold, which she only really did (for better or worse) off and on during Carlivati's tenure. But Finola gradually got too emotional over Sonny, Jason, etc. and was allowed to do that onscreen too much long ago. Mulcahey brought some of that steel back, though Finola still managed to choke or quietly sob through some of that material as Anna found her way there lol. She's a brilliant actress and she did a good job with that stuff in '24, but now we're back to the same old and it humiliates the character whether she knows it or not.
    • Listen, I am all for Laura Wright wearing silly wigs and glasses if there was a point.  So far she's just been nice to Brennan and made out with him.  How evil lol!!  Even though I have been told Brennan loves her the writing was never there.  It's so low stakes.  Carly should maybe talk to her daughter and have an adult conversation instead. Laura and Anna look foolish.  I really don't have an issue with either being friendly or at least having some affection for Sonny.  I don't get both of them wanting to have a parade to announce how much they love him and how valuable the friendship is.  C'mon, Laura basically tolerated Sonny because of Luke until Lulu/Dante got together.  Anna likes Sonny because Robin did?  There really isn't much more of a reason for Anna to give him the time of day besides that.  They aren't lifelong buddies.
    • It is so dumb and is dragging on already after a couple weeks. By the time Carly wraps this up Joss will be running the local branch office. And yes, Laura deserves better. It's like they tripled down on this Sonny apologia stuff with her and Anna after the Mulcahey saga.
