Peter White, who played Bill Horton as an emergency substitute  for 2 episodes on "Days of Our Lives" in 1987, has passed away. White appeared on the October 13, 1987 and October 15, 1987 episodes as Bill, replacing Christopher Stone who was unavailable to tape those episodes.

White, best known for playing Lincoln Tyler on All My Children, was 86.

His death was confirmed to multiple reports by Kathleen Noone, who played Ellen Dalton on the former ABC sudser from 1978-2011.

White’s cause of death on Nov. 1 was melanoma.

The New York City-born actor joined the action in Pine Valley in 1976 and stayed on the soap on and off through 2005.

A graduate of Northwestern University from the School of Communications, White studied acting at the Yale School of Drama. He kicked off his prolific career on stage and was part of the original 1968 cast of the hit Off-Broadway play, “The Boys in the Band.”

Jason, this great, an expanded ILM. I love it! I had no idea he'd temp'd as Bill Horton. He was on 2 other daytime soaps, LIAMST as Dr. Sanford Hiller and unknown on Secret Storm. I also believe he is one of only two people to hit the primetime soap "trifecta" of appearing on certain ones: Dallas, Dynasty, KL, FC & the Colbys.
