The fallout from the writers strike that has virtually shut down Hollywood is now beginning to impact daytime television, reports Deadline. CBS’ “The Talk” has shut down production because of the strike as its staff includes WGA writers.

According to the outlet, “The Talk” will continue airing previously recorded all-new episodes for the remainder of this week, including an episode featuring Shemar Moore as a guest co-host. The actor will reprise his role as Malcolm Winters on “The Young and the Restless” on Monday, May 8.

The show could air repeats starting next week or as soon as its pre-recorded originals run out, Deadline notes.

“The View,” which also has WGA writers, will continue production, moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced on today’s show. Meanwhile, the late-night talk shows have already stopped production and will begin airing re-runs starting tonight and until the strike concludes.

Depending on how long the strike lasts, I have a feeling that "The Talk" won't return. Just a feeling as some networks used the 2007/2008 strike as an excuse to get rid of shows and writers.
